Update panels / timers - asp.net

I have one huge update panel that covers my whole page (Which is a table). The problem is in this table, each cell has another table in it which stores data and displays it. I already made my huge update panel cover the larger table, but how can I add in an update panel to the smaller tables? Thanks! The reason I Need this is because each column has different data that needs to be updated at different times! Cheers!

An UpdatePanels can be nested without a problem. If you don't want the outer one to be updated make the UpdateMode of the inner panel Conditional.
However, I would also recommend moving away from UpdatePanels altogether and using jQuery/Json directly - you'll be able to make more efficient (less data and updating) web pages.

Widget-removed-event available?

I have a panel that makes use of a simple vertical layout. From time to time some of the widgets in this panel are removed. What I want to do in such a case:
remove one of the separators that is placed between every of these widgets
rearrange the layout to avoid large gaps where the widget and separator have been removed
The problem is, such a widget deletes itself automatically, the parent panel not necessarily knows about this operation. Therefore my question:
Is there some kind of "child-widget-removed"-event available which can be received by the parent and can be used to start the procedure of re-layouting the panels contents as described above?
Thanks!

Is there a way to arrange the columns in the grid when the Sales order list page is loaded?

I'm stuck with an issue in the sales order Grid in Dynamics AX 2012 R2. Somehow after adding new columns to the grid via personalization, the newly added columns always shifts to the left side after closing/opening the sales order list page.
Is there any Grid property that handles the arrangement of the columns?
how can we modify the grid columns?
Thanks!
Well, it sounds like an error, this is not how it works for me.
Consider adding the fields to the SalesTableListPage form. The fields are initially (or after reset of user settings) listed in the order in the form grid.
Might look into the list page interaction classes which is responsible for form behavior instead of the AOT on listpages.
more information on the available methods can be found on msdn
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/listpageinteraction.aspx
but it is possible for example that a var/isv customization modifies the form after it is loaded

how to increase Drop Down List capacity in asp.net

How can you increase Drop Down List capacity in asp.net? I have to display 20,000 items in a single DropDownList but it not showing all items after binding. Some items are missing.
How can I achieve this?
I'm not aware of any direct limitation applied by the .NET framework; there may be a limit applied by the client, but I'm not sure. 20,000 is a lot of items and a lot of HTML to render, and HTML rendering is one of the bigger performance problems. You may want to instead consider an alternative approach like an AutoComplete feature, such as this.
There is no reason the dropdown list selection would be missing items.
Check your data source before binding to make sure all the items are there, it could be an issue with the query filling the data source rather than the dropdown list missing items.
Though as people have pointed out, replace this with either a search function or a autocomplete function dropdown lists should not be a place for 20,000 items.

How can I create a draganddrop wrapper inside a table row, that can represent the whole row

When I use treetable in Vaadin, it is working fine drag and drop the whole row when click the left and right blank ereas. but that is not user friendly, I wanna create a draggable layout inside the row, let's say the 1st component of the each row, that when clicking it, the whole row is selected and can be draged and dropped to reorder.
The thing is I can create a vertical layout with wrapper doing that, but drag mode is only for its component or the wrapper itself, and when doing the drag action, it doesn't actually showing the whole row is moving, which may confuse the clients. What can I do to make it looking like I am dragging the whole row, similar with the one you drag the blank area of each row? Thanks.
I'm afraid there currently is no way for adding a wrapper that would extend the entire row instead of just one cell. To do this you'd need to extend the client-side implementation of Table (VScrollTable) and this is not something I would recommend as it is quite complex.
I do think that what you describe should be possible in core Vaadin (without using drag & drop wrappers), so could you please file a ticket at dev.vaadin.com? And please attach a small application showing the problem to make it easier for us to see the problem and fix it.
Anyways, in order for you to get it working today I'd suggest that you change your UI design a bit and for example borrow drag handles from iOS. By this I mean that you could add an icon that suggests "draggable" as a background-image in the first cell (or in the row header cell of each row) that encourages the user to grab the row there, where it is "empty" and dragging works. This way the user might not be too confused if dragging only works reliably in some parts of the rows.

ASP.Net - Possible to edit multi rows in grid, then save all? PLUS...partial postback of single row with new value retrieval from dataset

I need to implement a grid in asp.net that behaves almost exactly like MS Excel.
- can navigate around with arrow keys
- you can edit the cell that currently has focus by simply typing
- supports checkboxes, dropdownlists, etc
One crucial requirement is....I need to be able to somehow, after update of any cell within a row, pass that updated value back to the server, as there is a calculation process that happens using that updated value that can update other cells in the row, and I need to essentially rebind all the cells in the current row with the updated values resulting from the calculation. AND...when I do this, I want to retain focus on the cell that had it after the update of the former cell. Without grid scrolling, etc, etc.
If you're wondering what I'm talking about, just imagine Microsoft Excel, but I need to perform the formula calculations on the server and refresh all cells in the current row with the results....and, not lose focus of my current cell.
I am more than happy to pay $1000 or whatever it is for one of the full blown commercial ASP.Net grid controls, but from the ones I have tried so far, they seem to not be capable of this, at least I don't know how.
Aspose Grid - would have worked great, except it is totally full of bugs
Telerik RadGrid - a colleague familiar with that grid is trying to figure it out with no luck
Farpoint Grid - looks promising but haven't tried it out yet
If anyone has any advice on how to specifically accomplish this, it would be much appreciated.
Have you tried the extjs sample?
It has a commercial licence, but you can try it for free.
I managed to find an example about Excel-like RadGrid by Telerik - if you are interested in it, you can see it here. And good luck with your implementation.
Did you look into using jQuery for this? Look into jQuery templates and ajax.
