I am creating a project template by using Custom Wizards (say, a "Hello World" project). Aside from including my files and classes, I would like some extra stuff to be automatically added to the generated .pro file, like CONFIG+=compiler-configuration-stuff or LIBS+=extra-needed-library, but the documentation does not say anything about this. Is it possible? How?
Thanks in advance.
You can edit .pro file in your wizard. The wizard files are in the following directory:
Qt-Dir/Tools/QtCreator/share/qtcreator/templates/wizards/
If you look at the directory there are some folders related to different wizards. For example if you look in to the "helloworld/qmake" folder, there you can see a "project.pro" file and a "wizard_sample.xml" file. You can edit the xml file to have your custom wizard.
"project.pro" is a template pro file. You can edit it and next time you create a project by that wizard, your custom pro would be created for the project.

I have been going through some blog posts that tell how to customize the live search . What is not clear to me is where should I place the live-search-docs.get.config.xml file in my all-in-one-share project so that it is bootstrapped and deployed in the correct location.
Please can some one advise where the file should be placed in my all-in-one alfresco project?
From the link below
https://www.bluefishgroup.com/insights/ecm/adding-metadata-fields-to-simple-search-and-live-search-with-alfresco-5/
they suggest the search query customization file to be placed under
These files can now be modified to add additional metadata fields as
needed. Once the files have been updated, they should be deployed to
the ‘extensions’ directory so that they will override the out of the
box configuration. If you are deploying your code as a custom AMP
file, the files should target the following directory:
tomcat/webapps/alfresco/WEB-INF/classes/alfresco/extension/templates/webscripts/org/alfresco/slingshot/search
if my file needs to end up in the above path in my WAR, where exactly should I place the search file in my all-in-one alfresco project so that its deployed to the above folder? I would like this to be bootstrapped with my all in one project. I tried putting the file under src/main/resources/alfresco/site-webscripts with the remaining path for the file but that did not work.
Thanks
The easiest way is to create a copy of that file in:
my-all-in-one-project-platform-jar/src/main/resources/alfresco/extension/templates/webscripts/org/alfresco/slingshot/search/
where, of course, my-all-in-one-project-platform-jar must be substituted with the name that you have specified when the project was created with the all-in-one archetype.
The file in the extension subpath will override the corresponding OOTB files.

I tested my Netbeans setup with a html5 project and the css file was generated from Less file accordingly. then, I went ahead with a drupal bootstrap project and got no css file.
With the html5 project, I can select the root directory, hit the right button of the mouse, select "new->LESS file" to create a less file xxx.less under root/less directory and a css file xxx.css shows. But with the drupal bootstrap project, my best luck is using command-line 'lessc less/xxx.less css/xxx.css' to generate the css file. Did I overlook anything?
It seems that Netbeans 8 has a pretty "dumb" way of looking for LESS files by default. That default is that Netbeans looks in the project root for a folder called "less" that it then monitors for changes and compiles the output into a folder called "css" (both in the root of the project).
When working on something like a Drupal or Wordpress project, you might have your content be logically saved (for some reason) in a folder like: wp-content/themes/my-theme/lib/less.
So, what you need to do is add and/or modify the input and output folders to make sure that you're achieving the desired results. From the Project Properties windows select "CSS Preprocessors" and from there you can choose to either modify the defaults, or you can add a new folder to the watch list and have it get compiled into any directory of your choosing. The Input and Output paths are relative to the document root so you might do something like: /lib/less for the input source and output directly to the /css folder or it could be something like /static-assets/styles/compiled/css (for all that Netbeans or anyone else cares).
It is rather strange that Netbeans doesn't automatically set the input folder to the folder where you created the LESS file but such is life, it's not the first time I've experience a "Huh?" moment when working with Netbeans.
I'm deciding whether to add a file to version control. It's name ends with .pubxml.user. Can anyone tell me what it is? The fill name of the file is <name of our web server>.pubxml.user. It is evidently related to the publishing configuration.
The project is in ASP.NET MVC and C#, using Visual Studio 2013. the file is in the PublishProfiles folder.
Because this is a user-specific file, it should be excluded from version control. From https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff398069(v=vs.110).aspx, emphasis mine.
When you create a publish profile, two files are created in the PublishProfiles folder: .pubxml and .pubxml.user. The .pubxml.user file contains only a few settings that apply to a specific user, such as an encrypted password. By default it is not included in source control. Typically when you change settings related to a profile you edit the .pubxml file rather than the .pubxml.user file.
I have all the files for the deployment listed below :
-BIN
-CSS
-IMAGES
default.aspx
PrecompiledApp.xml
Web.xml
The above files can be copy pasted in the webapps folder and default.aspx could be run from the browser.
i want to create a solution sln file from this. How to create a solution file?
A solution is merely a container of projects. If you create a project containing these files, the solution file will be created automatically in the same directory (unless you specify otherwise).
File -> New Project
Expand Other Project Types, Select
Visual Studio Solutions
Under Templates, ensure you have
selected Blank Solution
Enter a name and a location for the
solution and click OK
File -> Add -> Existing Web Site
Select the folder that contains your
website and click Open
It looks as though you are creating a web site. I've never been able to create a solution with just a website in it (a web application is a different beast however). However, I have found a workaround, although it's a little cludgy. Create a new class library project (any project type will do really). This will create the project file. Then File -> Add -> Exisiting Web Site. Point to your existing web site and add it. This will create the solution file as you now have two items. You can now delete the first project that you created. This will leave you with a solution file with one web site in it.
I am creating an AIR application using Flex. In it I need 2 directories downloads & uploads. These directories will have downloaded files & uploaded files.
But the problem is I am not able to create these 2 directories programmatically & also I am not able to include the 2 directories with the installer in the application directory.
Is there any way to create or include directories in the application directory.
Thanks
Create an empty folder inside your Flex project. Right click on your project and go to Properties->Compiler (not exact name but something like that). Make sure it has "Copy nonembedded assets to output directory" (check it if it doesn't). Click Ok.
Export a release build of your AIR app. Do NOT click Finish after the "signing" step. Follow each step until you get to the "assets" screen. It will show you a list of every file and folder in your output (bin-debug, by default) directory.
Check the files you want, uncheck the one's you don't, and click OK. Done. You have your AIR file packaged with whatever file and folder you want.
[...] But I need to create the directories in application directory. I am using: var dir = File.applicationDirectory.resolvePath("upload directory");dir.createDirectory(); And I am getting: at runtime::SecurityManager$/checkPrivilegeForCaller()
This is a know issue. AIR wouldn't allow you to write to the application directory. Instead try writing
either to the File.applicationStorageDirectory (application's scratchpad),
or to the File.documentsDirectory (stuff user might want to lookup)

Use This Dear :)
var dir:File = File.applicationDirectory.resolvePath("NewFolder");
dir =new File(dir.nativePath.toString());
dir.createDirectory();

have you tried something like the following
var dir = File.userDirectory.resolvePath("upload directory");
dir.createDirectory();
This will create the directory 'upload directory' if it does not already exist (inside the users home directory).
To add to johncblandii's anwser:
I've found that for the above to work, you also need to include the folder in the project's build path. I also had to refresh the project's file listing before flash builder recognized the folder and added it to the include options.
I just want to add another thing to johncblandii's comment: Create an empty.txt file and write something there. Because it looks like empty folders are nod allowed to be included in your packed application
