Plone 3.0 users and groups: show all - plone

I have a problem that when I enter users and groups page and I press show all,
it will show nothing or just a few members within one page instead of showing 20 members in a page like before, why is that?
Recently I have set plone captcha to prevent robot registration, is this setting has anything to do with my problem?

Is an old problem of Plone 3 user and group handling. If you look at the site log when accessing the view you'll probably see something like "Skipped user without principal object ...".
It mean that the portal_memberdata tool contains some old user data that are not referring to real users: probably you changed something in the user and groups management, like removing a source of users.
Unluckily Plone 3 do not offer a way to fix this in a simple way. On Plone 4 the portal_memberdata from ZMI offer a way to cleanup things.
This is not blocking your site from working normally and is not a critical problem (although I understand is annoying)

Other users seeing a 3rd party website with same user stylesheet

I have a group of users that will be using a web database.
Ideally, I would like these users to view that website with some user styles of our creation (so that some of the website elements are displayed differently, like highlighting fields they need to fill out). These users are independent and remote, meaning that we can't really access their computers to do anything to set this up (like setting up Stylish for them).
I was wondering if we could somehow create a package that will display the website using such stylesheet, as if it was an application rather than a website that they visit with their browser.
The idea would be that by opening this "app" they're actually opening a dedicated browser window to this webpage where they can interact with it, can't navigate away (just no address bar), and uses this stylesheet I mentioned. Thus the "as if it was an app".
I hope I was sufficiently clear. I don't even know what this would be called (not even what tags to use), so my research has really taken me nowhere. Guidance on how to get this done will be highly appreciated. If somebody has a better idea of how to obtain a similar result, I'll be happy to experiment!!
Thanks!
Will the users be logging in through user accounts in your database?
If so, create a column in the user database which, should it return a certain value (say true for these special users and false for all else) then a different stylesheet is used.

How to maintain session in different tabs of same browser?

My website is used to administer customer accounts. If I access CustomerA's account through the website then open a new tab and access CustomerB's account the session holding the customer ID updates to think I'm now working on CustomerB. Then if I click back to CustomerA's tab and start editing that page I am in fact editing the database record for CustomerB. This has happened and caused all sorts of problems so I need to find a fool proof way of stopping it. I don't want to put the customer ID in the URL as this will make it open to abuse.
Session is not a place to hold information like this exactly because of problems you're describing. You need to pass customer ID along with the page itself (either in hidden field or in url), so when you post back the form, it exactly knows what are you trying to do. Session won't protect you nor add any extra security. You need to determine if the user has correct permissions either way, so you should focus on this aspect.

Drupal Embedded views not working correctly

I recently took over a site from someone else at a new company. Having never used Drupal before, updating things has been a bit cumbersome. There were some outstanding security updates that I applied(but I haven't updated the core yet). Anyway, after doing this, the calls to views_embeded_view have not been working. For example:
print views_embed_view('news_block');
Will break the links(by using the title, rather than alias for the link), or it will link correctly, but not follow the paging rules I have set(show 1 page, 6 items per page) instead it shows 10 items and has links for other pages.
I am not sure if the update has anything to do with it, but it seems likely. Would updating the core resolve this issue potentially?
The first argument of views_embed_view is view name, the second one is display id. If display_id is not provided, 'default' is used. Make sure that you are displaying the correct display. (i.e. default can be configured differently than some other display which you actually wish to see)

Personalized protected frontend content on a "per User" base in Wordpress

For a current project i need to provide some of the client's clients (you go it? =) some kind of protected frontend content area. This area should hold protected content on a "per User"-base.
For example: Tom from (lets call the company EXCORP) wants to provide User A with a document (PDF) and some Text (HTML-Content). But(!) User B would get a totally different document and maybe some more Text. User C would possibly not get a document at all.
This Game goes on for circa another 150 users or so. So going by "default" roles doesn't work here, since i would have to create one user-role per user and that would definitely overkill it. And all the Membership Plugins i've found do not work that way.
Just to make that clear: This thing only goes one way. Meaning, Client-Supporter Tom (in example above) needs to provide all the clients some personalised information. Tom would be a Backend-User. Clients do not need to provide eachother some files or information. Just from one Backend-User to all the different Frontend-Users.
So my question clearly spoken: Is there a way to protect frontend content on a "per User"-base using Wordpress? It doesn't matter to me if I get it to work the "hacky" way, or by a premium/free plugin, as long as it is safe (I will use SSL of course). I just don't want to develop a plugin from scratch, though my client would never speak the budget to pay for it!
There are a lot of themes outhere that offer front end user dashboard, you can use one of thoes themes to have everything set up (user redirected to his/hers dashboard at login).
At this point you have many ways to acchive what you need, if it's not too much trobule to remember what user received what info you can simply add a user-box in post-creation/edit backend where Tom can create a post, attach files to it and asign it to another user(throw the user box).
Publishing the post as private and changing the author from Tom to the end-user should make your work much more easier.
P.S. Check classifieds themes to see how backend works the main difference between thoes and what you'll have to achieve is that the post is craeted by Tom but asigned to the user (very easy to do) and that the post MUST BE PRIVATE!!! don't forget this if the data is sensible!
I realize this is an old question, but thought this might help others. You could try using wp-document-revisions along with the members plugin to achieve what you are looking for.
Good luck.

Scheduling and publishing replacement pages in a CMS

Does anyone have any ideas or know of any plugins to allow pages to be scheduled and replaced.
preamble:
currently evaluating different content management systems for a new project, we create new pages and also updating existing pages for example as part of a 'maintenance release'.
We will be using either PHP (preferably) or C#
Problem:
We would like our users to be write and save a new revision of an existing page with a go-live date and time in the future, at this date and time we would like the page to be live replacing the existing page, but all links to the page, url etc to be the same.
Currently:
We have two separate installs and schedule updates to pages using a cron job and a PHP script running some mysql queries - this has failed us at critical times in the past when it has failed to run.
finally:
We could probably write this ourselves, either in our own CMS or as a plugin to an existing CMS - simply:
SELECT latest_revision from posts_pages_table
WHERE publishable='yes'
AND max(revision_date);
but does anyone have any experience of this with an existing CMS or from a technical point of view foresee any problems?
How for example in a wordpress backend will a user be sure they are updating the latest version of a page if it hasn't gone 'live' yet.
We have looked at all existing CMSs and searched google but scheduling updates to pages seems to be an uncommon occurrence so relying on some guidance from the trusty SO crowd.
thanks
If you are fine with PHP, you can use SilverStripe. To achieve what you are asking you'd use the CMS Workflow module.
SilverStripe CMS comes with two stages built-in: live and draft. You can keep reworking the draft version, which remain private until you are ready to publish. In the normal scenario you would just push to live.
With the CMS Workflow installed, you can additionally choose the date when the modification should go live ("embargo"). This stores your draft version for "later", and only pushes to live at the date you've chosen (this plugs in via the cron job).
There is also an "expiry" you can set on the page, at which point the page will be unpublished and will no longer be available publicly.
Embargo, expiry and publishing operations do not affect the URL nor ID of the page, so all the relations stay intact while you are reworking the page via the CMS.

In Joomla, there is a way to do this out of the box without touching any code. Here's how I would do it -
Create a category for the page that will be getting replaced
Create a menu item pointing to that category. Set it to display 1 item only, ordered by newest date
Create a template override so that the category item displays like an article detail page
Create new articles with a start publish date that determines when it starts displaying
Basically, you'd be displaying a category but it would look like an article. It would always pull the newest article that has reached it's start publish date. It would be easy to keep track of because you would have copies of every version you post, each update you would simply make a copy of the last one to edit.
You could probably write something custom to accomplish the same thing, but why spend the time and effort when it can be done easily with a template override?
