Archived Meteor Documentation - meteor

Does anyone know where to find MeteorJS documentation for past versions? There does not seem to be an option on the website to switch to an older version like there is on other documentation sites.

You can download the tag for the version you want and run the app in the /docs directory.
The docs directory is a meteor app. All you need to do is meteor inside of it.
E.g for version 0.7.2:
git clone git#github.com:meteor/meteor.git
cd meteor
git checkout release/0.7.2
cd docs
meteor
open localhost:3000

One way is to dig in through the GitHub repo history for MeteorJS https://github.com/meteor/meteor/commits/devel/docs

Sorry to revive this thread a year in. But for users of the current Meteor 1.3 release it might be reassuring to know that you can get at least access to the Meteor 1.2 guide directly on guide.meteor.com via the small drop-down menu on top. Just switch it from "1.3" to "1.2".
For getting the full API docs or even older versions of the guide the currently accepted answer still applies, of course.

You can read it in plain text (with no sourcecode examples) at:
src meteor docs 0.6.5
src meteor docs 0.7.2

Changes made to Rocket.Chat are not included after building

I'm new to developing with Meteor and node-based apps.
I intend to create a PR for a problem i noticed in Rocket.Chat.
I git cloned the Rocket.Chat dev branch and made a change to a certain file:
https://github.com/RocketChat/Rocket.Chat/blob/develop/packages/rocketchat-oembed/client/oembedImageWidget.html
After that i ran the build-script successfully. My build started, but the change is not included.
Using the Chrome Dev Tools to inspect the change, i still see the original unchanged code.
I know it's a rather generic question and i'm sure the solution is kind of stupid, but any idea why ?
Thank you.
Kind regards
It looks like the file you modified is in the packages directory. This is dealt with differently.
Check the .meteor/packages files to see if this package is referenced, if it is, then it will install the package from the atmosphere package management system.
Here the steps required to make your changes work...
1) Edit the .meteor/packages file and change the reference to rocketchat:oembed to be simply oembed
2) Edit the file packages/rocketchat-oembed/package.js and do the same thing, change rocketchat:oembed to be simply oembed
Package.describe({
name: 'oembed',
version: '0.0.1',
summary: 'Message pre-processor that insert oEmbed widget in template',
git: ''
});
I think you can leave the directory names as is.
Meteor will now use your local package instead of going out to get the published version of it
In addition to #Mikkel's answer: I think you don't have to change package name, but just change its version. That should be enough for Meteor to rebuild this package from its source and you won't have any dependency issues.

Jboss Fuse 6.2, install custom features to profile in fabric

I was able to do what I'm goin to describe in Fuse 6.1 but now in Fuse 6.2 I get an exception and it is not working anymore.
By following a tutorial, I build a "multi module" project that has a features component in order to install all the needed bundles.
I'm working on a fabric container with a child container.
I create a new profile and then from hawtio console I try to add the feature repository. (BTW I have the same problem if I use the terminal console)
The feature repository is added correctly (that's what fuse says at least) but when I enter the page to add any feature I see this in the log:
org.eclipse.aether.resolution.ArtifactResolutionException: Could not
find artifact it.mytria.demo:esercizio1-feature:xml:features:1.0.0 in
karaf-default
(file:C:/servers/fuse/system/)
Of course, it is right, since I never installed the bundle in that folder, but I have it in my local .m2/repository
Now, the question is, has anyone ever installed a custom feature in Jboss 6.2 and can help me get out from this situation?
The only solution I found is to manually copy the feature and all the custom bundled indicated by the feature in the "/system" folder, but I never had to do this in Fuse 6.1 so I don't like this solution at all.
Other thing, there is a conf file in Fuse 6.2 that has changed from Fuse 6.1, C:\servers\fuse\etc\io.fabric8.maven.cfg and it is the only file I found pointing to the system folder... but I'm afraid that if I add the .m2 folder here then Fuse will try to search there any bundle even those that has to be really taken from system folder.
So far I haven't find any other difference in the config file about maven repository.
There is any good guy out there that know how to make this thing work?
Please, if I missed some important information, let me know, I'll try my best to complete the question.
Thank you very much.
I installed a clean JbossFuse 6.2.0. Then from the hawtio console I just add the repository to the profile using
mvn:it.mytria.demo/esercizio1-feature/1.0.0/xml/features
and it worked.
So... I have no idea what went wrong the first time. I made no changes to the projects code or pom configuration of the bundles.

Meteor Project not supported

I am trying to run a project on meteor but getting this error in the command line-
this project uses Meteor1.0.2.1, which isn't available on Windows. To
work with is app on all supported platforms, use ,meteor update
--release METEOR#1.1.0.2 to pin this app to the newest Windows-compatible release.
I have tried updating to which I am getting the error message
while checking for meteorhacks:kadira-binary-deps#1.2.1:error: No
compatible binary build found for this package. Contact the package
author and ask them to publish it for your platform.
I tried updating this to which i was brought back to the first error message.
Does anyone know how I can run this meteor package? It is sparrow-finance to be specific.
Regards
Chris
The answer is simply remove the kadira package which you can do by editing the packages file in .meteor.
But, kadira is really useful. So what I'd suggest is to set up meteor environments. Meteor cookbook has a good example of this - https://github.com/awatson1978/meteor-cookbook/blob/master/cookbook/environment-detection.md .
If your environment is anything other than local, use kadira, else don't use it.

Is it still possible to edit a document in google docs from alfresco share 4.2?

I have a 4.0.x binary installation of alfresco and have this menu highlighted below:
I have 2 custom installed 4.2.c versions and this option is missing. I have done the following to try and enable it as read from different parts of the web:
1) added the two following lines to both the share and the repo's alfresco-global.properties file
#enable GoogleDocs integration
googledocs.enabled=true
googledocs.googleeditable.enabled=true
2)Modified the share-custom-config.xml file in attempts to enable this and other google docs functionality.
So far this is the only thing missing. I am not sure whether this is a bug or whether I'm overlooking something else.
Yes, Google Docs integration works fine with Alfresco Community Edition 4.2.c. In fact, here is a video that shows you how to get it working:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EbNDEp1KG1g
The video shows that the out-of-the-box installer will not create a working Google Docs integration due to changes on the Google side. So you need to reinstall the AMPs to both the alfresco and share wars as gagravarr mentioned above.
If you are using Google Docs integration in the repository folders (external to a Share site) you will need to install from head because there is a bug. If you are using the integration only within Share sites the latest released version of the integration, downloadable from the 4.2.c file list page, will be fine.

No sure how to create the Todo app using Meteor Framework

I tried replicating the todos application without using the example meteor terminal commentlets
Steps, i followed, (I'm using Ubuntu 12.04 build)
In terminal - meteor create todos
-- created the todos
a default *.html, *.css, *.js create underneath to the todos folder,
i deleted and replaced the actual todo artifacts into to it (e.g. client, server, public folders to the root) -> tried running the app - UI appears but the functionality breaks
I just wanna know what is ideal way create a app something similar structure as todos app.
This might help other folks to create a larger applications... currently i stuck in single *.js.
There's also a .meteor directory per project. Did you copy that too?
I've used a vagrant (https://github.com/pixelhandler/vagrant-dev-env) to install all of the dependencies and have an app running fine.
I just used 'meteor create myapp' like the docs say.
My bad i found it, just use this commentlet on terminal
meteor list --using
the above commentlet will list you out all the packages used for the current meteor project
Just add those project to the newly create meteor project and write your own structure, i found another way struture the project which i post as soon as possible...
meteor list --using
underscore
backbone
spiderable
accounts-ui
accounts-weibo
accounts-google
accounts-facebook
accounts-password
accounts-twitter
jquery
preserve-inputs
intersting fact is todo example comes two version one with secure and non secure packages - out-of-box build release with 0.4.2, and 0.5.0 respectively...
