I'm having some issues with IntelliJ 13 and autocompletion when editing CSS. Normally to set margin: I used to type: mar Tab.
Now, with the new version, I get max-resolution instead:
I had originally assumed it was due to the new Emmet functionality, but I've already switched it off and the issue still occurs:
Anybody experiencing anything similar?
There was a preselection bug which has been fixed in IDEA 13.1, please try its RC from http://confluence.jetbrains.com/display/IDEADEV/IDEA+13.1+EAP. There, the live template must be preselected if its exact key is entered in the editor.
If you don't want to see these live templates at all, you can go to Settings | Live Templates and disable the whole Zen CSS group.
Type: m Tab instead, you may find the results to your liking.
In my case helps me something opposite.
I checked the Live Templates > Zen CSS and after this, I can use snippets like bdrs(border-radius) etc from Emmet.

Yes, I know, according to someone's criteria this is more readable.
In our case it is NOT and we have programmed like this for years and we do not want to change it.
How can I disable that when I add a CSS property with auto-completion, it puts a space after the colon?
If I write, for example "flo", and I press enter to fill the "float" property, visual will put "float: ;" and I want it to write "float:;".
I have to remove space every single time and it's really struggling.
Thank you.
Search, configuration etc... NOTHING WORKS
You should be able to do what you want. You are looking for an emmet preference. See Emmet Preferences: v1.16 Release Notes:
There is supposedly support for the css.valueSeparator, see also GH Issue: Emmet Preferences support.
So you should be able to do this in your settings:
"emmet.preferences": {
"css.valueSeparator": ":",
}
The default for css.valueSeparator appears to be : , see Emmet Preferences.
BUT, it doesn't work for me for some reason - seems like some completion option is not respecting the css.valueSeparator setting. So you may have better luck - or need to file a github issue on this.
After some update to either Visual Studio (I have the same issue in both VS2019 and VS2022) or Chrome I can no longer update the CSS in DevTools and have it reflect and persist the changes to site.css file in my project. Instead when I try to change a CSS property I get the following in the DevTools console:
Unable to find a stylesheet to update. Updating all local css files.
15:54:01.800 aspnetcore-browser-refresh.js:82
And the green dot disappears from my CSS pane immediately after I hit the up or down arrow on my keyboard to try and change the CSS value.
Why is that? It used to work not too long ago. I think it's been broken for me for half a year or so now.
I've been googling but haven't find any good resources. Or maybe I'm the only one coding directly in Chrome? :) Surely this can't be the case?
If anyone knows a workaround please share because I'm really frustrated atm :)
Disabling "Enable CSS Auto-Sync" seems to do the trick.
Update 1: The above no longer works for me for some reason. I managed to find another fix on SO: https://stackoverflow.com/a/70096917/687549
And here are some screenshots:
Update 2: Update 1 works when you only need to update the CSS directly in Chrome. It's better to have Hot Reload enabled and the set the following setting to None - then you'll get the best of both worlds (Hot Reload + Edit CSS directly in Chrome using workspaces): https://stackoverflow.com/a/68954979/687549
Update 3: I'm now using VSCode. If none of the above works try the following (block .js file in Network tab in Chrome DevTools): https://stackoverflow.com/a/68966524/687549
Im using zk version 7.0.2 and I need to disable all styles/themes from zk, then I need to put my own style css. There is a way to do this?
I tried to put some css files but it doesnt change. In some docs I've found shows me about creating my own theme using LESS but it doesnt work.
Thanks
Yon can specify the disable-theme-uri element in zk.xml, for more details, please take a look at this document.
I'm trying to use Aptana Studio 3 instead of phpEd. But I'd like to have the code coloring like in Dreamweaver. I made these changes in phpEd, but I can't find where to change it in Aptana.
Also, I installed the jquery bundle, but I can't to get it working...
Thanks for your help.
Preferences:Aptana:Themes. Figuring out what keyword corresponds to what display object can be a bit tricky, but it is all there.
There's actually a ticket already filed to add a theme that matches Dreamweaver: https://aptana.lighthouseapp.com/projects/35272/tickets/1508-create-dreamweaver-color-theme
I'm looking at it now, but I'm running into some internal bugs (namely https://aptana.lighthouseapp.com/projects/35272-studio/tickets/2357-scope-selectors-with-portion-prefix-match-arent-matching-properly) that I need to fix before I can finish. In any case it should be in Studio 3.0.2 and hopefully I'll fix it today and it'll be in tomorrow's nightly (here's how to get nightly builds: http://wiki.appcelerator.org/display/tis/Changing+the+Update+Type).
As for editing themes yourself, you can see the current scope at the cursor by doing Commands > Bundle Development > Show Scope. Then use scope selectors that match that sort of scope (we adopt Textmate's scoping/theming rules: http://manual.macromates.com/en/scope_selectors)
Could you finally get your theme?
If you want to create your own theme then first go to: Window->Preferences->Aptana Studio->Themes
To create a new theme just click on the "+" sign next to the themes
list.
To add elements to your new theme right click the text in your
editor and click Commands->Bundle Development->Show scope.
Copy the last section you see to the right of the hint window that
appears.
In the themes elements list click the "+" located at the bottom of
the dialog box (next to "Scope selector")
Give a friendly name to your new element.
Assign foreground/background colors to your new element.
Paste the element's scope in the "Scope selector" input box (make
sure your new element is selected, if not, click on it).
I created a theme for PHP, CSS, HTML, JS and XML editors, similar to the old aptana 2 colors. If you want to get it you can write me to jgarcias.cr at gmail dot com.
Cheers.
I was experiencing an odd problem where blocks were not showing up on a site. After a lot of spelunking I have found that block.tpl.php is not getting called/discovered.
Looking at the suggestions that the theme engine is trying to find it looks like the most general template it will look for is block-MODULE.tpl.php - ie if I set up symlinks for block-block.tpl.php, block-views.tpl.php etc then the content will show.
It just won't find block.tpl.php
So I can kind of make the problem go away, but I'd feel a lot better if I could fix it properly.
Anyone know why (or where) this would happen?
This is drupal 6, with a zen subtheme. zen is in sites/all/themes/ the subtheme is in sites/example.com/themes/.
(it does seem to be finding page.tpl)
PHPTemplate will find the more general templates (e.g. block.tpl.php): you can confirm this behavior by looking in the themes/garland folder which has its own block.tpl.php.
The most common reason for the template engine ignoring your template overrides is because the theme registry has not been reset. You can reset it by going to Site Configuration -> Performance and clicking Clear cached data at the bottom of the page.
Also make sure you've gone through and followed the instructions for sub-theming exactly: missing a step can produce unexpected results:
How to build your own sub-theme (6.x-2.x)
How to build your own sub-theme (6.x-1.x)
Turns out I had added a to the hook_theme() function in template.php for blocks that was pointing to a different location and confusing everyone.
Why I did that is lost to history, but it seems to server no useful purpose.
there should be a version of block.tpl.php in both the theme and subtheme directories.
