I have a technology news blog where I write about tech companies and start-up. I would like to add company profiles to them, and show them in different posts. Is it possible any way?
Thanks :)
Best option would be to setup a Custom Post Type called "profiles" (or whatever name suits you) and then use a plugin like Advanced Custom Fields to build your company profile fields (name, address, url, bio etc.)
You can skip the ACF plugin and use custom fields, but if you need the data input process to be user/non techy freindly than ACF is a good option.
hi is a lightweight plugin for adding job-board functionality to your WordPress site

I'd like to clarify a few bits first:
I don't want to display a directory, just the search input form
I want each result to display on each line.
It will show things like name, email, twitter id etc...
I'd like to include star rating if possible.
It must not require a click through to reach a post with full details
Essentially I'm after a plugin to maintain a simple database, with star rating and return results by row, similar to a simple PHP mysql lookup and print.
Does anybody have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance
Here are 2 free plugins from the wordpress directory

Alternatively, Try looking at the solutions these plugins offer (Paid, but not that much and premium plugins often worth it!)

Is there a plugin/module for Joomla or WordPress, that can register if it the same user/computer that maybe visit a page on my site that is about Cameras that say.
And the next time he visit my webpage again, It shows another content in the same page.
So what im trying to say is, same visit user/computer, show other version of content/page?
Is there a plugin for that for any CMS framework?
While not a WordPress-specific plugin, Aware.js sounds like what you might be looking for: https://github.com/xoxco/awarejs
Using it does require a bit of programming knowledge, though, and I think you might be hard pressed to find something that does what you're looking for in plugin form at this time.
If you are talking about e-commerce and you want an out of box solution just use virtuemart with Joomla. The featured page will show your products by a random order (default). You can also create modules with the option of random enable.
About cache (but this doesn't affect the random options of virtuemart, only joomla direct content):
Conservative Cache
Shows all visitors to your site the same exact cached content.
Progressive Caching
However caches the content for each user uniquely.

I'm looking for a plugin to beautifully showcase some work.
I'm looking for something like the free wp Image horizontal reel scroll slideshow.
It does not have to be a free plugin.
Do you have any suggestion for a horizontal image scroller/gallery plugin for WordPress
This is a rather vague / opion question, but let's see...
If you're looking for a premium slider, you can check out Soliquoy, SliderPRO, and Royal Slider. You can read a review and comparison of these on Chris Lema's blog.
I would also recommend checking out FlexSlider from WooThemes, and Meteor Slides.
There are countless sliders and plugins out there. You'll have to do some research and see which one best suits your needs. I hope this helps!

Creating a one page site want a really light weight CMS. I usually use wordpress for all my projects but seems so heavy for this project.
One page:
Bio
News Feed
Contact
I want the client to be able to edit their bio including the picture and add short news entries that populate a feed.
Any suggestions.
Use WordPress.
Sure it's heavy, but your existing knowledge of WordPress combined with meeting your requirements for a CMS outweigh that fact.
The client can always grow into the site and your future self will be thankful you didn't spring for some fashionable solution.
