I have re-installed Ajax 3 times. Thanks by abny orientation
Alejandro

You also need to add the control tags into your web.config..
<controls>
<add tagPrefix="asp" assembly="AjaxControlToolkit"
namespace="AjaxControlToolkit" />
</controls>

I have re install the Ajax Toolkit with Nuget, and all works fine

I have solved the problem re instaling AjaxControlToolkit with Nuget.

System.Data.OracleClient managed provider requires Oracle client software version 8.1.7 or higher to be installed on the computer where the ASP.NET Web page runs.
Probably the server does not have the Oracle client installed, but your dev box has it.

ASP.NET error when connecting to AWS RDS Database

I am going to try to keep this short and simple.
I have created a very simple asp.net website in visual studio 2010. I have a simple code on a particular page that connects to an amazon RDS database.
When i run this website on my local computer it runs fine pulling the data from the database. But when i put the files onto the microsoft webhost server through 1and1.com i get a whole slew of error messages.
my site www.kellendenny.com/Default.aspx loads fine. if you got to www.kellendenny.com/Styles/WebForm1.aspx you should see the errors I am talking about.
I don't understand why the code will work on my local machine but not from the webhost.
Thank you for your time.
below is the code for the WebForm1.aspx page.
<%# Page Title="" Language="C#" MasterPageFile="~/Site.Master" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeBehind="WebForm1.aspx.cs" Inherits="WebApplication1.Styles.WebForm1" %>

Based on the fact that you are able to connect to AWS RDS from your local machine on your local network. This would indicate that your connection string is indeed correct.
As the issue occurs when the code is deployed I would think that the hosting provider may be blocking or require that a firewall rule be opened/applied. This can probably be achieved either true a support query or through the control panel of your site on 1and1.com

use location tag in web.config to remove settings for a child app

hi i am trying to run a child application inside a sub folder of my asp.net website. The web.config file of my child application inherits from the root web.config and will not compile when i try to access the path.
I would like to switch settings in the web.config depending on the path using

Can anybody help?
having done lots of research I have found that the inheritance of web configs is very tricky.
This article is very helpful and sums up how this works very concisely
http://weblogs.asp.net/jgalloway/archive/2012/01/17/10-things-asp-net-developers-should-know-about-web-config-inheritance-and-overrides.aspx
I have decided the quickest solution for my problem is to setup the mvc app as a subdomain.
In future a good solution i think is to have a base site with no changes to the web.config. Then setup a descendant site from this to give you the option to setup a sibling site that does not inherit from any other descendant sites web.cofig but is still part of the same site.

None of the asp.net login controls work in Asp.Net

This is really strange, but I originally had a Visual Studio 2008 web forms application that I upgraded to .Net 4 but the IDE is Visual Studio 2012.
My membership system worked great before the upgrade, now it is completely broken.
I actually recreated the login controls, login, password recovery, register in an Account folder. I changed the reference to my login path in web.config.
I also checked the Asp.net configuration page to see if it sees my users and YES it does.
However when I attempt to login, it reports back a failure. I verified the username was correct and just in case somehow the password changed, I tried using the password recovery form.
The password recovery form reports back that it can't find the user name. I have triple checked that the user name (an email address) is correct, in both the configuration and the database. It's there and spelled right.
What is going on???
Thanks

It really matters on which SP you have installed as it may decide the outcome on which route you take to resolve your issue. Also you will need to know if the KB958854 hotfix is installed or not, you can find this by looking in your Add/Remove programs list (view installed updates - top left of that window)
Also maybe as simple test (first) you could add the following element into your config file under the SYSTEM.WEB section
<machineKey validation="SHA1" />
which will revert the hashing algorithm back to the older format HMACSHA1 and not the newer algorithm which is HMACSHA256 If that fixes it Fine, if not simply remove the element again.
