Currently I have an installation of WordPress that is running a plugin called Types. When I search for posts inside a custom post type I get no results at all. The URL string looks correct:
&action=-1&m=0&seo_filter&paged=1&mode=list&action2=-1
But it returns nothing.
Additionally, when I remove &action=-1, the search results show up correctly. I have tried disabling the plugin and it works correctly, however I have other sites using the same plugin and searching works on these.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

It has a paid limitation on assigning role capabilities to custom post types which can be partially fulfilled with http://wordpress.org/plugins/map-cap/
It would probably be best asking the plugin developer in the WP Support forum.

I have a search bar on a site which runs a WP_User_Query and lists users.
It'd be great to tap into the power of Relevanssi so more info on a user can be searched e.g. custom fields etc.
Relevannsi has a relevanssi_do_query($your_query_object); (link) function which works great with WP_Query... however does nothing to WP_User_Query.
Has anyone found a way to solve this?
I'm aware of the Index and search user profiles setting in the backend, however this affects all instances of search results, which isn't what I'm after.

I am currently working on a website in which one of the category only serves as a way to curate news on the net and then, share it on the front page and on Twitter.
The post itself is empty, I use a custom field to receive the URL from the user, grab a few things from the target website, update the permalink and save. Upon saving, SNAP publishes the post on Twitter.
My issue is that it is not using the permalink but the url of the post itself (which is absolutely empty). Having a look into the plugin's code, I saw that it was using post metas (most notably urlToUse, snap_MYURL) but couldn't determine if it was a priority issue or something else.
I also try to adjust my code to set these meta values to the url I want, to no avail.
Is there a way I could set my custom functions or the SNAP plugin so that the permalink is used ?
No answer after a week, neither here nor from SNAP's support. No problem.

SNAP for the Facebook ones thanks to their ability of posting based on a specific category

having researched wp forums and only found people asking this question without any answers, I resort to the source of all truth (stack overflow).
I use wordpress custom post types (Custom Post Type UI plugin) and find it very handy.
Now, I want to be able to email-publish some content via WPs built-in email publishing system, but by default that is set up to only publish as regular posts.
I am aware that I can choose categories for the emailed content, but I would very much like to keep all the pages and content of my news (=blogposts) feeds the way they are, being able to put the email-published content into a content type of its own would really help me out.
So I wonder if anyone has done that, and how you would go about it. Thanks for any input.
Not sure if this helps people looking for a solution, but I managed to do it like this...
When a post is submitted for publish by WordPress default email2post, there is an action hook named 'publish_phone' running, so you can get the post there and change its type like this:

I resorted to converting it into a post category instead of its own content type. I know not whether there be any other solution =)
I am looking for a way to only show the comments posted in wordpress.
My main goal is to turn the wordpress CMS into a site like fmylife.com. The basic principle is allowing anyone to post anonymously (without having a post to comment on), and then the comments need to be moderated by the admin.
If there is an easier solution to doing this, then I'm open to hearing that as well. The only thing I don't want to do is get the fmyscript clone. I've tried that and don't like it.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Why don't you try the buddypress plugin wherein users can register and post. Just disable all other components except activity feed and make your homepage as a static activity feed page (configurable in the settings).

If you are looking for multiple VISUAL/HTML editors (to control different parts of your post/page), you can either use custom fields or a plugin called PODS CMS.
If you are using custom fields, read:

A very popular plugin that works with custom fields is FLUTTER. I haven't used it myself, but I have used other plugins and I would probably go with Flutter because of what I have heard about it.
If you use PODS CMS, be aware that it doesn't work with plugins that require custom fields (for example, many feature slider plugins) but it's a great way to have multiple text fields on the same page. It's great for very customized content.
PODS CMS does require some php knowledge but the documentation online is very good:

Personally, if I have more than one custom field per post/page, I would go with PODS, but that is just my preference.
