My CSS files do exist. They just don't have anything inside - they are empty.
Chrome however, show 404 errors for my CSS files.
Putting some dummy code e.g. comments in a CSS file makes the error goes away.
Any idea what went wrong for me?
Updates:
The document root of the website is /var/www/html/niuniu/.
Some of you mentions permission issue but how does it explain the issue when I put in some comments in the CSS file and the error went away - no changes in permission?
I'm using Prestashop but I don't believe that has to do with the issue here.
It appears this is just how Chrome's Developer Tools and Firebug report empty CSS file. This is not a real error that can break my website.

I'm really confused as to why my browser is not updating my CSS? I've viewed it on other computers/browsers and cleared the cache but the CSS doesn't seem to update in the browser even if it is already updated via FTP.
Here's the link to the github environment that displays correctly:
https://melvinalvarez.github.io/archive2.0/
Here's the link to the url where it doesn't show the changes:

the "image.css" file is not updating in the browser even if it looks updated in the FTP?
What could be the problem? I updated the files together with my index.html but the css files are the ones that does not seem to update.
I attached screenshots of the difference in the css file that does not seem update on the browser. This is what displays via FTP (I use Forklift which I think is similar to FileZilla)

and then here is what the browser displays (the css code that links the image to the blank div is missing)

Hope you can help!
I found out that this was a CloudFlare issue and purging their cache would solve the css mismatch. Hope this helps anyone encountering the same problem.
I'm getting this error in Chrome when it loads this application I am working on:
Failed to get text for stylesheet 50: No style sheet with given id found
Subsequent page loads repeat the error, but with a different number:
Failed to get text for stylesheet 152: No style sheet with given id found
This only happens in Chrome, and only with this application. There is no stack trace, reference, or any other information about what id is given, what the stylesheet in question is, or what is causing this generally. How can I find what is causing this error and fix it?
I had the same problem. It looks like a bug in Chrome's live-edit CSS/JS. Notice how the number changes on each request.
I fixed it by closing all the files that I had edited in the dev tools 'source' tab and then refreshed the page.
The error went away after I closed all the files in the 'source' tab.
I tried to reproduce it after closing the files, but I can't seem to recreate it, yet.
Here is a picture showing where to find the 'source' tab:
Still present in Chrome 46.0.2490.80 m (64-bit).
Closing sources tabs 'fixed' it.
Fixt it by holding [Ctrl] + [Shift] and refresh the page
Just experienced this today if you have a .css file open in the dev tools. If you close the .css file and reload, the issue does not happen.
Chrome 48.0.2564.109 (64-bit)
I'm experiencing an extremely perplexing error that I've been unable to find any posts about online.
I have a CSS file ('main.css') that is linked to my HTML file. Recently, this has started happening:
1) For some reason, upon opening the HTML file, the linked CSS file appears twice.
2) I go to file -> save all, and the dreamweaver formatting disappears, as though it's an ordinary text file. If I exit and open up the HTML again, the changes haven't saved.
3) Also when I click file -> save all, a new css file is created in the css directory.
I honestly haven't the slightest idea what's going on here, and would appreciate any assistance that could be rendered!
Is your Dreamweaver connected to FTP server where the actual website CSS is present online?
Each time I edit a css file in Eclipse, I get this error. It really keeps me from doing my work, because it pops up almost after each character.
Can't find resource for bundle java.util.PropertyResourceBundle, key css2.stylesheet-def.description
I would like to disable the parsing for css in order to not get this error anymore, but I didn't find how. Can you give me any tip on how to solve this issue ?
This sounds like Eclipse bug 419986 which says it because of missing translations in the CSS property files.
The bug report suggests deleting the localization plugin (such as org.eclipse.wst.css.core.nl_fr_4.3.0.jar works around the problem).
I have a Spring App with ThymeLeaf and Dojo that is causing me a problem. The CSS files are showing up aborted in Firebug when I reference them from my HTML file. However, when I go directly to the file by putting a copy of the CSS URL in the address bar, it works. In addition, the Dojo code works, but it fails when it gets to the CSS file. So, I have tried a CSS link only and with Dojo and both fail. I have searched this one for hours, but I cannot find anyone else having this problem.
Thanks in advance,
Joe
Figured out the issue. I turned on debug on the server and tested a JS and CSS file. They both behaved the same from the server perspective and it looked like the CSS file was being sent correctly. So, I tried IE and it worked fine. After reinstalling Firefox, the software works as expected. Wish I had figured out this issue earlier
