I have many reports on JasperReports and they are embedded into our web app using iframe API. Some of the reports are scheduled to run everyday and store the generated files on JasperReports.
I want to embed the folder location on our web application so that User can see the report file listing in the web application.
http://${url}/jasperserver-pro/flow.html?_flowId=viewReportFlow&standAlone=true&_flowId=viewReportFlow&ParentFolderUri=/${location}/&reportUnit=/${location}/${reportName}&fromDate=&toDate=&decorate=no&j_username=${username}&j_password=${password}
The above link is being used to access report but I am not able to figure how to do the same for directories.
Please let me know if you require more information.
If you want to give users the access to all of the reports in your repository, you can pass the directory location into your URL instead of passing in the path to your report

How can I change permission for a Web App, so I can actually upload files via FTP to it?
What is it I need to change in order to have permissions to upload via FTP?
I have a running site that runs ASP.Net Core. Everything works.
For debugging purposes on a weird js issue, I need to be able to edit a few js files directly on the site via FTP.
When I connect via FTP (with the credentials from the "publish profile") I can connect just fine and download files - I use Filezilla.
But if I try to upload anything, I get "550 Access is denied."
I have full access to Azure Portal etc for the site, incl. Kudu.
It does not matter if you can upload files via KUDU or some other thing - I specifically need FTP.
Thanks for asking question! Could you please check if your firewall is blocked outgoing FTP writes.
Also, make sure you're not trying to write to a read-only file. For this suggest using the Kudu Console (https://[sitename].scm.azurewebsites.net/DebugConsole) to look at your files and check their permissions (e.g. using 'attrib' command).
For more information about KUDU, please refer to this document
Refer to this document link might be helpful: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/app-service/deploy-ftp#get-ftp-connection-information
Try checking the ftp link which is provided by deployment center, For this Go to your web app, click Get publish profile, choose the Publish URL under tag <publishProfile profileName="your-webapp"
I have a basic question so apologies in advanced but I have been googling for hours and not been able to find the answer. I made an ASP.NET Core Razor Pages app and deployed it to a folder (which is in a network, it's basically our staging environment) and now need to know how to access the index page in the URL. I followed this doc on how to publish the app into a folder: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/core/deploying/deploy-with-vs?tabs=vs156 (I chose the Self-contained deployment without third-party dependencies option) but now how do I access the index file?
For example if this is the URL: https://testing.com/FolderName
And the app is in the 'FolderName' folder what do I need to follow up next in the URL to open the app? Inside the FolderName folder there is wwwroot folder, appsettings.Development, appsettings, the .exe, a .pdb, and a web.config. So how do I access the app in the web? I also tried copy/pasting the files and navigating to index.cshtml but didn't work either.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.
Razor Pages are not routed based on the file system (like PHP).
You start the Web server (by opening the exe) and navigate to the URL where the Web server tells you it's serving the app (in the terminal you should see a line that says "Listening on https://your_url:port...").
The index should be the first thing you see when you navigate there.
I have hosted one web application on Azure Web application and application have one folder that contains dynamic images means application generated some images and stores on that folder but without write permission I can not save images dynamically please help me
Create a folder in d:/home/site/wwwroot and write there.
I have a asp.Net Website where we have implemented Forms Authentication.By using it PDF files in particular folder are accessible only to Authenticated users (Form Authentication).
I have another Website which provides links to user to download PDF files from above mentioned project (Note that this project too uses its own Form authentication).
But currently I am not able to access PDF files of first project via second project, So Can any one help me about how to access these form authenticated files from different Project.
I have a web app made in asp.net mvc3. There is a facility to upload and download files using the application. Uploaded files will be stored in some folder under web root. I want allow downloading files to those who have access to the files only. No one should be able to download the file by directly pasting in the file URL.
I use shared hosting with limited IIS access. So what would be the best way to achieve this?
How are you storing the data on the access rights currently? It sounds like you are not going to be able to make use of IIS to control access to your files and will have to handle it yourself.
As this is the case, rather than link to the file directly you should store the files outside of your web root and then handle requests coming in for files through ASP.NET MVC using a GET method. At that point you can check the user's credentials, and if they have access you can serve the file.
I'm not too familiar with it, but it looks like ASP.NET MVC makes serving up files very easy with the ability to return a FileContentResult, supported by the Controller.File method (documentation here).
This blog post looks like a great start, and you would just need to insert your credential-checking logic into the Get method.
