Hi i am new to Flex webapp.
I want to dynamically bind html text with flex webapplication. I fetch html data from database using webservice and binding with textarea control. While binding data it displaying all text but without style applied for text.
I tried following code for bind
txtArea.textFlow = TextConverter.importToFlow(str,TextConverter.TEXT_FIELD_HTML_FORMAT);
Your code above should work, most likely the html is malformed.
TextConverter.export(textArea.textFlow, TextConverter.TEXT_FIELD_HTML_FORMAT, ConversionType.STRING_TYPE).toString();
I use this code to generate the html, where I can reload and reapply the styles using the exact same code as you do.
Also you should start out with
<TEXTFORMAT>
in your saved htmltext if you aren't.

I have a simple WebApp application that reads the data from google sheet and displays in HTML using materialize css( 1.0.0), JS. I am new to this stack of tools. HTML page has 2 containers and bottom one supposed to be populated (using innerHTML assignment)based on the selection on the top container. The bottom container content is simple card contents in table format. I want to put a HTML Select object with List of values to be displayed and created a Appscript function. I am assigning the function output to innerHTML like this.
-- JS
function generateCards(text_card){
document.getElementById("container-id").innerHTML += text_card;
}
function createAuthorCards(authorName) {
document.getElementById("container-id").innerHTML = "";
google.script.run.withSuccessHandler(generateCards).getCardDynamicText(authorName) ;
}

If put copy/paste the function output in HTML it works( goes through rendering when refereshing), but if i use InnerHTML, the listbox is disabled, but all else seems ok. needed imageplease see the 2 attachments needed and missing_listbox images.enter image description here Is there any limitations of using innerHTML in webApp?
I was using google Webapp. It looks google doesn't allow the editing of dynamically created items. So I ended up using Modals to make the selections and save it.
Can any one give me an example on how to build a bootstrap navbar within an asp.net website dynamically from database according to the role of the logged user (sth like populating asp menu) and keeping the same style of the navbar.
any help will be very appreciated as i have searched too much and i can't find a solution.
The nav bar in twitter bootstrap is essentially just an unordered list. So make the code as neat or as messy as you prefer, but create a div with an id and a runat="server", and reference that in your code behind. For example, your markup could read:
<div id="myNav" runat="server"/>
In your code behind, read your data items from the database, generate the appropriate HTML, and write it to the DIV. One such example:
Dim sb as New Stringbuilder()
sb.append("<ul>")
sb.append("<li>Item 1</li>")
sb.append("<li>Item 2</li>")
sb.append("</ul>")
myNav.InnerHTML = sb.ToString()
I have used asp.net ajax html editor and i saved data in database. But now i want to retrieve it and show it in grid view. But when i retrieve that, it also shows those html tags (generated by asp.net ajax editor). So, i want to trim those tags and show plain text in grid view. How do i do that?
Thanks
Go to you db and look, how it is saved. Maybe it is save encoded. If it is not the case, you can use some simple regex to remove all those tags.
<[^<]+?>
This shows you just plain text and removes all Tags
To stripe the html tags from text you can utilize the
RegEx.Replace("str","Pattern","replacementstring "); method which there exist in
System.Text.RegularExpressions namespace
for example
Plain_Body = Regex.Replace(txtBody.Text, #"<[^>]*>", string.Empty);
here i am replacing the html specific characters with String.Empty or "" you can add additional characters if you wish to pattern like #"<[^>]*>" and spaces( ) and Ampersand(&) etc
I have content that I want to load dynamically, the problem is it has some html formatting in it. What control should i pull the text into, is there a way to pull the text into a div or a label, along with the formatting?
You can use an asp:Literal:
Code behind:
myLiteral.Text = HtmlDecode(GetTextFromDB())
Please help me to get text (non html/ not formatted) from ajax text editor in asp.net i am using vs 2008.
i am using AjaxControlToolkit.HTMLEditor
you can see same kind of at : ajax HtmlEditor
Well, the documentation on the page you linked to only shows that the HTMLEditor has a Content property, which is the html text, not the plain text. However, the editor itself, on the page, allows you to view either the rendered html, or the html code (the markup).
The editor uses an <iframe> to contain the rendered html. If you want to get the plain text (no html tags), you'll have to do it on the clientside. The <iframe> has an id. You could use something like jquery to do this:
var plainText = $("#iframeID body").text();
$("#someHiddenField").val(plainText);
As long as someHiddenField is an <asp:HiddenField> control, it will contain the plain text of the editor when you post back. You just need to make sure you make the above assignment after you're done editing the HTMLEditor's content, but before you actually post back.
UPDATE
I answered another similar question, and my first answer might not actually get the text of the <iframe>. Try this:
var text = $("#iframeID").contents().find("body").text();
$("#ctl00_cpMainContent_Editor1_ctl02_ctl00").contents().find("body")[0].innerHTML
