is adobe air replaces flex on mobile browsers? - apache-flex

we have developed video confernce using flex builder 4.6 which works perfectly on desktop browsers. we just added the video box from flex in the browser and everything else is plain html and javascript code. when we open our site on any tablet or latwst mobiles the flex component is unable to connect to wowza server. I want to know what additionally I have to do for flex component to work on tablet browsers without doing lot of changes in code such as not using transcoders to convert live video and audio to one of those html5 supported format.

Your subject line does not seem to relate to your actual question; but I'll try to address your points.
is adobe air replaces flex on mobile browsers?
Adobe AIR is a way to build native applications for iOS, Android, and Blackberry devices. It is not a tool for delivering Flash content through a browser.
Adobe did create a mobile browser plugin for Flash. That is available on Blackberry devices; and was available for Android devices. On Android it is no longer being updated or maintained.

What is the error you receive?

On iOS, or Windows Phone, there is nothing you can do.
On most Android devices, you'll have to manually install the Adobe Flash Player.
On current Blackberry devices, it should just work.

flex mobile live video streaming to flash media server

I'm building a flex mobile application that streams the device's live video to flash media server.I can't run such an application on the flash buider's emulator because it doesn't emulate the camera and i don't have an android device to test my work on it.I wonder if using the NetConnection and NetStream classes with the device's camera will work as in a regular flex web application.I really need an advice from someone who tested those two classes(NetConnection and NetStream) with flex mobile.Any pointers or advices will be appreciated.
Thanks in Advance.
NetConnection and NetStream with Adobe AIR for Mobiles works exactly as how it works with a regular web application.
However, some things have to be considered. Your mobile application should be developed on a "Landscape" mode. Since there is a bug with adobe such that the video stream gets rotated when you are sending the video stream from your front camera.
Bug Report
However, i am not recommending you to stop developing the application. This will be a good challenge though.

Sencha Touch with Nokia Mobile Phones

Does anyone knows how to implement Sencha Touch with Nokia phones, Symbian operating system. As far as i make research i saw that it is possible to implement, there is a video with N8 implementation: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ERwS1sBRY-w
Thanks.
Sencha Touch is not officially supported on Symbian Devices.
Sencha Touch is a cross-platform framework aimed at next generation, touch enabled, devices. It's currently compatible with Apple iOS 3+, Android 2.1+, and BlackBerry 6+ devices. Together these devices represent over 95% of current US mobile traffic.
As the video shows it may still be possible to point the Nokia web browser to a Sencha Touch mobile site and have it work properly. The Youtube comments link to a git project that has a sample native Nokia app to get you started building Sencha Touch projects for Nokia. Something like PhoneGap may help you in deploying to Symbian devices.

Designing issue in JQuery mobile with asp.net

I am creating mobile application in asp.net webform targeting IPhone, Android and blackberry. I am using JQuery-Mobile for the same.
Below is my first page I have developed with jquery-mobile.
I don't have iphone, android and blackberry. So my questions are:
Best Simulator I can use on windows XP/ Windows Server 2008 for Iphone, Andriod and Blackberry
Also, when I am running the application on the browser it is looking wierd. I mean textbox size, buttons. Is this the way it looks on normal webpage or it's my faulty design?
As I am developing application in asp.net, do I need to install latest browser which support HTML5 and CSS3 because below browser is IE7.
An old IE is not the best choice to test the capabilities of a HTML5+javascript framework...
For daily basis it's quite ok to use Firefox or any WebKit based browser (chrome, safari ...)
Emulators are very helpful, but to be sure your product works well you will probably need to give it a try on an actual device. I have already seen some reports of problems that show up only when working with the real device.
A team that I do some JQM stuff for has bought a cheap old ipod touch for testing. It's the most demanding apple product you can get. It has the oldest browser, causes most problems and is the slowest. Best choice! :)
Emulator for Android
Simulators for Blackberry
I'm sure Apple has one too - but I think you need to register as a iOS developer before you can get your hands on it. I believe using third-party iOS emulators is against Apple's policy.

Porting web-app for a tablet

My web app is written in Java with front-end in JS. I want to port to tablet and other touch mobile devices. Developing a native API is ofcourse an option but I would prefer making the old app work on tablet.
I know I would need to make some changes in UI for the touch interface and I am willing to do it.
So My question is: A*re there tablet Simulators available on which I can try my app and see where it breaks on such device.*
What would be the best approach to proceed on this?
thanks in advance!
Tablets use various OS's and, thus, different API's, supported features, etc... For iPad, for imstance, XCode provides a simulator. I read somewhere that the BB tablet coming out will have a simulator for dev as well.

Run JavaFX On Windows Mobile

I've a Samsung Omnia i900 that runs Windows Mobile OS. Believe it or not, but nowhere on the Internet can I find information on running a JavaFX application on it. Is it possible?
JavaFX Mobile is now available in Early Access for Windows Mobile devices. You can download the binary from javafx.com.
As far as I can tell, JavaFX Mobile hasn't been released. Some of the pre-release tools worked on Windows Mobile (judging by some blog posts) but that support was dropped from the 1.0 release.
JavaFX 1.1 is meant to have Windows Mobile support, but it looks like that's on the development side rather than on real devices - the fact that there's a mobile emulator as one of the key features for JavaFX 1.1 is quite telling.
According to the FAQ:
2.4 How can consumers get JavaFX on their handsets?
Sun is working with Mobile Device
Manufacturers and Mobile Operators to
enable out of the box support for
JavaFX content by preloading the
JavaFX Mobile runtime with their
devices
That doesn't exactly sound encouraging for being able to get it on your handset right now. I may be missing something, but I certainly couldn't find anything to download...
