Good afternoon.
I've tried to find an answer to this question but can't seem to find one.
I'm using a study guide to teach myself HTML5 and CSS3. This study guide comes with some material to use for exercises.
The first step is for me to create a new project using the provided material but every time I try I am told that the folder I have set for the project is not empty.
The steps I am told to use are as follows:
File > New > Web Project
Set Template
Next
Project Name
Uncheck "Use default Location"
Browse to the folder containing the provided material for the exercises.
When I complete step #6 I receive the following message:
Folder 'c:\target' is not empty
At this point I am unable to click either the Next or the Finish button.
Am I missing something? There are approximately 20 chapters worth of exercises with each exercise consisting of multiple files. Do I really have to import them individually?
I am using Aptana Studio 3, build: 3.4.0.201304151603 in Windows 7 Professional 64bit.
Thanks.
Instead of choosing File > New > Project, use File > Import > Existing Folder as New Project.
I'm using Aptana Studio 3 on a Mac with Mountain Lion. I do not find 'Existing Folder as New Project' under the File > Import menu. The Import menu item under File just brings up a dialog box asking for a source.
In Aptana Studio 3 I found the 'Existing Folder as New Project' by using import--General-->Existing Folder as New Project.

If I and click on Open File I want that the dialog window shows the directory of the current file I am working on. However, it always shows the directory Recently Used and I have to click through the folders to get to my project folder. Where can I change this so that the dialog window starts in my project folder?
Also I noticed that the treeview doesnt change if I work on a specific file. So if I have two projects folders called Project 1 and Project 2 and I start with a file from folder Project 1 then I see the treeview of this folder. However, if I open a file from Project 2 and work on this file, the treeview of folder Project 1 remains. How can I make that the treeview always corresponds to the current file I am working on?
As for the first part of your question, this is a bug in atom for the linux version. Someone has suggested a patch but it seems it has not been accepted yet in the main atom version, even if it seems to work (see the discussion). The two commits are here, if you want to try something with them (what would imply something like recompiling atom yourself of course...).
About the second part of the question: I don't think it's possible to let atom switch automatically from a project to another when clicking on a file. But you can use the project manager package, what will allow you to define projects, and to set a root directory for each project and then switch from a project to another manually. The treeview will then fit with the current project.
Here at the step 5 of the first exercise (In the Add Existing Item dialog box, navigate to the Source/Assets/Models folder and select all the files. Click Add.) the tutorial make a reference to a set of files that I don't know where they are. Where I can find those files?
At the top of the page:
All sample code and snippets are included in the Web Camps Training Kit, available at http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=36393.
Once installed read the readme, you are doing the Hands On Lab (HOL) for AspNetWebApiSpa:
C:\WebCampsTK\HOL\AspNetWebApiSpa\Source\Assets\Models
I had the same issue...
I found the files were installed in:
c:\WebCampsTK\HOL\AspNetWebApiSpa\Source\Ex1-CreatingAWebAPI\End\GeekQuiz\Models
The needed files may be installed elsewhere also (too many folders) but this is where I found them on my system after performing the install.
Hope this helps!
I am getting error, Entry-point asset is required in Configuration Default, when I import Blackberry 10 sample app. I can see the error in bar-descriptor.xml in assets tab and there is no configuration. How can I solve that?
I think that's not the good answer.
When you import your project dont select Blackberry. Under the General folder, click Existing Projects into Workspace, then click Next. This must work.
Importing a sample
1 Download a sample app from https://github.com/blackberry/NDK-Samples
2 Extract the sample zip file to a location on your hard drive.
3 In the IDE, on the File menu, click Import.
4 Under the General folder, click Existing Projects into Workspace, then click Next.
5 Click Finish.
The sample should now appear in the Project Explorer.

By the drop down SDK selector in your screen shot, it looks like you are running 10.0.9.1101, which is an old version of the SDK. The current Gold SDK is 10.0.9.1673.
Make sure you have downloaded the new one: https://developer.blackberry.com/cascades/download/
Once you have, you can change the SDK from the drop down. The setting is saved on a per-workspace basis, and does not get updated automatically when you install a new SDK.
I've got myself an MVC2 web applicatin using .NET Framework 4 and am following these instructions to the T. However at step 10 when I save the updated ProjectTypeGuids I get a message saying "The project file projectname.csproj cannot be opened. The project type is not supported by this installation."
I do have MVC3 installed and am running VS2010, so I don't know what could the going wrong. Anyone have any thoughts on the matter? Thanks!
EDIT:
For what it's worth. If I create a blank project from scratch, I have the ability to create a new MVC3 project. However, if I right click on my solution and click add->New Project... I can only add MVC2 projects. This leads me to think that the solution is configured somehow to only support MVC2, however I can't figure out how to change it.
There is an extra package which is ASP.NET MVC 3 Tools Update, you must download and install it too.
Solution 1:
Open the visual Studio Find In Files Dialog and Select your project folder, then search for old GUID and replace it with new one exactly. Backup the directory before doing this.
Actually You must select the whole solution folder and search all the files not a specific extension.
Solution 2:
You must take a careful look at your csproj and sln files and compare it with a working one on your system to find the difference. if you have file compare tools like winmerge, use it to compare files character by character
I have a nicely working actionscript project in Flash Builder 4.5. However, I'd like to change the directory name that it sits in. Seems Flash Builder breaks if I manually change this directory name using the operating system. Is there a way to change this in Flash Builder so it doesn't get mad at me, or other workaround?
With careful text editing I discovered it is possible to change the project path in the .location file underneath this directory:
Adobe Flash Builder 4.7\.metadata\.plugins\org.eclipse.core.resources\.projects\
It is a binary file, but the path was plain text. Saved me a bunch of time!
I've just found another way to move a project. I'm using Flash Builder 4.5.
1) Select the project to move
2) In the context menu, choose the 7th option "move..."
3) Choose new location
4) You will be prompt for a progress of the copy of the project!
5) Relaunch the workspace, now all is ok, you can work on your project...
You could always just export it as an FXP, then reimport it. In the import wizard is an option to choose the folder to unzip the project into.
Right-click on the project and select "Rename..."
