i'm using PHPStorm 6 and Simpless for compile LESS to CSS.
I have set LESS as File watcher in IDE. Everything is fine and compiling works.
The problem is when i make some changes to the .less file, IDE runs Simpless program and the window of the Simpless program popup every time over all my running programs. It's very annoying.
So, is there some chance to disable Simpless popup window?

SimpLESS is a GUI application that is not designed to be used as a command line compiler. File Watcher expects a command line interface compiler.
On Windows you can use LESS compiler provided by the Node.JS less module.
Install Node.JS if you don't have it already
npm install -g less
Add File Watcher in PhpStorm, the path to compiler should look like c:\Users\<USER>\AppData\Roaming\npm\lessc.cmd or c:\Program Files (x86)\nodejs\lessc.cmd. If you remove the existing LESS file watcher and it again, PhpStorm should find the compiler path automatically.

I need to compile a cocos2dx project on Windows 10 which has some objective-c++ code, and all that using QtCreator. I've managed to set the compilers in the kit to LLVM (so that objective-c++ code can be compiled), as well as change the qmakespec to win32-clang-g++, however, I'm still getting this error when trying to compile:
error: No rule to make target 'C:/Qt/Qt5.12.9/5.12.9/msvc2017_64/lib/libQt5OpenGLd.a', needed by 'debug/libcocos2d.a'. Stop.
The folder in question contains file Qt5OpenGLd.lib, but doesn't have libQt5OpenGLd.a.
How do I fix this? I can provide more info, but I'm not sure what info is relevant.
I had to use win32-clnag-msvc in order to have it compile a .lib file instead of .a file.
I have installed WebStorm 9 on Mac. I am having problems getting my LESS code compiled to CSS even after installing the LESS Compiler plugin.
The following message gets displayed:
"Missing CSS Output Directory - You can add CSS output directories under Settings > Project Settings > LESS Compiler"
Though there is no "Project Settings", I have add out put directory to LESS Compiler in "Settings".
It still does not work.

I also meet the problem in mac WebStorm, finally found where is wrong:
WebStorm Less compiler only work for ver. less 1.6.2
please use below under your project:
sudo npm install less#1.6.2
then in File Watchers in WebStorm to edit Less watcher,
in Program field change path to:
yourProjectPath/node_modules/less/bin/lessc
then happy css will appear. :)
I have a LESS file which I want to compile to use as my bootstrap theme. How can I compile it? Is there a place where I can do this?
The less FILE comes from http://bootswatchr.com/ but when I click the link get CSS and choose either minified version or complete version, nothing happens.
I have the LES file from the left pane, is there a way I can still compile it?

Install the Less compiler: npm install -g less

If you are using WebStrom IDE, then it has a plugin for LESS to compile. I have been using the plugin to compile the LESS over a year.
If you want software, then I would recommend SimpLESS. You can use it on OSX/Win. It has drag and drop support which is nice and will tell you if your syntax is wrong. It also updates to support the latest LESS version.

I have installed node, and npm. With npm I downloaded less via terminal.
Im using this on my simple HTML/CSS project. pure frontend. its not a Ruby or nodejs project.
And when I do
lessc styles.less styles.css -x -w
in terminal, it compiles and compresses the code, but doesn't watch the file for changes, since Im expecting LESS to auto compile and refresh the page automatically. So, if I do any changes in my styles.less, every-time I have to go to terminal and enter the command to compile the less css.
Also, the compiler does NOT even show any compile errors even if I add anything on purpose, but in that case it doesn't compiles.
Please guide me on how to achieve the above. This is my first day with LESS CSS.
If you type lessc help you will see that there is no argument -w or --watch. What you can do is to use a build system like GruntJS with an extension like grunt-contrib-watch and have that monitor your less files and build the css on change.
I did this with help of #Oil on ubuntu forums.
In terminal,
1. install sudo apt-get install inotify-tools
then simply CD to the css folder.
and run below lines together:
while inotifywait -r styles.less; do
lessc -x styles.less styles.css;
done
I've been working on a project using OpenCV for a while, and am ready to upgrade my user interface from using cvWaitKey() to get key presses and emulating buttons with trackbars. Ha. So I've decided to use Qt.
I'd like to continue developing in the same directory I've been using, which is, of course, outside of the Qt install directory, C:\Qt\2010.05\qt. Using the "Qt Command Prompt", I'm able to compile the Hello Notepad example in directories both in and out of C:\Qt\2010.05\qt, namely C:\Qt\2010.05\qt\abc and C:\Qt\2010.05\abc.
However, while compiling under C:\ ... \qt produces executables in both the debug and release directories, compiling outside of it only produces the debug executable, along with a .o file (object code?). I did some comparisons using WinMerge, and found that the following lines (among others) differ in the two makefiles (generated using qmake -project and then qmake):
Inside qt\
first: all
install: debug-install release-install
uninstall: debug-uninstall release-uninstall
Outside qt\
first: debug
install: debug-install
uninstall: debug-uninstall
That's clearly the problem (the .pro files generated by qmake -project differ only in timestamp). I'm sure there's an easy answer out there to what's causing this... I hope there's an easy answer to how I can work around it. Also, I intend to use QtCreator some; hopefully the solution is the same for the IDE as the Command-Line compiler.

p.s.: I don't think this is the same issue: Qmake does not support build directories below the source directory ...in any case, I'm not sure I understand the answer.
You should be able to add
CONFIG += release
to your .pro file, to build for release target. There's also
CONFIG += debug_and_release
iirc.
QtCreator has a GUI element for toggling between build targets, you might try opening the .pro with that application if you find you need to switch back and forth often.
