I'm developing a ASP.NET MVC3 website for the 1st time. On my development machine everything works fine.
I bin deployed everything on our test machine. After some missing DLL issues the website seemed to work on the following url:
http://localhost/Test%20Website
But when I clicked the following link (which is created by an inline javascript because I'm using Infragistics Grid which is irrelevant for the question):
<img src=\"../Resources/Edit.png\" align=\"left \">
I get HTTP Error 404.0 - Not Found, which is logical, because the Physical Path is: C:\inetpub\wwwroot\Patient\Edit\537
While the physical Path should be: C:\inetpub\wwwroot\Test Website\Views\Patient\Edit\537 (atleast... I think... don't understand how MVC routing works exactly)
The links which are made by using the ActionLink HTML helper and such work fine by the way.
So this works:
#Html.ActionLink("About", "About", "Home")
And this works:
#Html.Partial("Search", new SearchModel())
So, my question is, how do you solve these issues?
p.s.: All the images in resources don't work either. sigh
UPDATE after an answer
I'm sorry, apparantly it is important to note that this takes place in a javascript function as a string. That's because I'm using the FormatterFunction from Infragistic's JQuery grid. Ok, this is what I've got so far:
"function(val) {return '<img src=\"../Resources/Edit.png\" align=\"left\">'; }"
The name 'val' does not exist in the current context, which is logical. But I don't know how to solve it, 'cause of my limitted knowledge of javascript/Razor/etc... Could you please help? Val in this case is by the way the value of the column it's bound to. In this case the ID of patient.
Ego4eg asked more code
It's Infragistics JQuery grid. This grid has a FormatterFunction which has a string as parameter. This string needs to be a javascript function. To give you an idea, this looks like:
#(Html.Infragistics()
.Grid(Model)
.ID("grid1")
.AutoGenerateColumns(false)
.Columns(column => {
//column.For(p => p.ID).FormatterFunction("function(val) {return '<img src=\"../Resources/Edit.png\" align=\"left\">'; }").Width("25px").HeaderText(" ");
column.For(p => p.ID).FormatterFunction("function(val) {return '<img src=\"../Resources/Edit.png\" align=\"left\">'; }").Width("25px").HeaderText(" ");
column.For(p => p.ID).FormatterFunction("function(val) {return '<img src=\"../Resources/add.png\" align=\"left\">'; }").Width("25px").HeaderText(" ");
column.For(p => p.FullName).DataType("string").HeaderText("Naam").Width("250px");
column.For(p => p.Address).DataType("string").HeaderText("Adres").Width("400px");
column.For(p => p.BSN).DataType("string").HeaderText("BSN").Width("85px");
column.For(p => p.DateOfBirthAsString).DataType("string").HeaderText("Geboortedatum").Width("85px");
column.For(p => p.GeneralPractitionerName).DataType("string").HeaderText("Huisarts");
})
Hope this helps.
It would be better to use Url.Content like:
<a href=\"#Url.Content("~/Patient/Edit/" + val)\">
Try this:
<a href ="Url.Action("Edit", "Patient", new { id = val })" />

Thank you for your help
This issue of $_POST['stripeToken'] not being populated generally occurs when your code isn't creating a Token object via Stripe Checkout prior to running this bit of code.
I would suggest that you check your Stripe account's API logs (https://dashboard.stripe.com/test/logs/overview) and ensure that you are in fact correctly creating a Token object via Stripe Checkout prior to calling this create Charge snippet.
You may also want to read through their Checkout PHP tutorial (https://stripe.com/docs/checkout/php), to get a better understanding of how all of the pieces fit together. If you still have issues after all that, you may want to write in to their support staff via https://support.stripe.com/email since you probably don't want to discuss private account specific things in public.
This is a quick finding I just experienced. If you're using the default <form action="/directory" method="POST"> ... </form> from this stripe example page with your own endpoint make sure to specify down to the index.php file inside the directory folder.
I was getting an odd error where the token was being created but I would get directed to the PHP endpoint and it wasn't a POST event. I had an index.php file in /directory/ and I had to write the complete path not just up to /directory eg. /directory/index.php. Then it worked as expected.
I want to confirm and extend what subalublub said, in that the endpoint can simply be "/charge/" without having to use index.php there.
I ran into this issue and just using "/charge" was not passing in the $_POST values, but when changing to "/charge/" the index.php file inside that folder worked correctly.
Hope this helps someone.
I can view an image in index file like this :
#*#Html.DisplayFor(modelItem => item.ImagePath)*#//Instead of this, I use the line below
<img src="~/Images/#item.ImagePath" height=100 width=200>
But In details file I have this :
#Html.DisplayFor(model => model.ImagePath)
How can I view the image in details file when there is a model not item? I have done several attempts but failed all of them. Thanks.
You can use custom template and dataannotations
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee308450(v=VS.100).aspx
http://www.codeproject.com/Tips/720515/Custom-HTML-Helper-for-MVC-Application
The answer should be like :
<img src="~/Images/#Url.Content(Model.ImagePath)" height=100 width=200 />
This razortag string " #Html.DisplayFor(model => model.ImagePath) " is calling the DB, getting the path and then presenting the path string as its output. In the Index view " item.ImagePath " is a variable that has been populated and currently contains the path ready for output. In the Details view, there are no variables, and the ImagePath is empty because the function has not run. Well technically it ran once but since it delivered its output to the view it is again empty by the time you try to use it. To get the ImagePath as your img src call the whole function where you are placing the image and it will run again and its output will be the ImagePath used for the img src.
This also will work in the Index view as well. The codeproject.com link in the above answer provides some relevant ideas.
"<img src="#Html.DisplayFor(model => model.ImagePath)"
I got error message when trying to run existing meteor project.
$meteor
=> Started proxy.
=> Started MongoDB.
=> Errors prevented startup:
While building the application:
client/coinmx.html:169: TRIPLE template tag is not allowed in an HTML attribute
...title="Totals: {{{get...
^
In Meteor 0.8, it's possible to return a Javascript object which is directly rendered into HTML attributes versus earlier versions, where you had to render it yourself.
Old version:
<input name={{name}} title={{title}}>
helpers:
Template.foo.name = "fooName";
Template.foo.title = "fooTitle";
New version:
<input {{attributes}}>
helpers:
Template.foo.attributes = {
name: "fooName",
title: "fooTitle"
};
All of these can be functions, and reactive, etc. Because the object is rendered directly into attributes, there is no need for you to SafeString some manually rendered content as before. This is the recommended way to go if need to render HTML attributes.
See also the following for how conditional attributes work under this scheme:
https://github.com/meteor/meteor/wiki/Using-Blaze#conditional-attributes-with-no-value-eg-checked-selected
The error is pretty much explanatory: you cannot use {{{something}}} inside a HTML attribute, you need to use {{something}} instead. Depending on what the something is (it's not known from your question as you didn't provide the code), that's either all you need to do, or you can achieve similar functionality by returning new Handlebars.SafeString("result") from your helper instead of just "result". However, if you do, you need to be super sure that the thing you'll return won't break the HTML structure.
Hugo's answer above gave me the missing piece I needed for the same issue-- triple stashes in 0.8 no longer supported. Here is an example that hopefully helps.
Where you might have had {{{resolve}}} in your template, you would now do:
<template name='thing'>
<ol>
{{#each all}}
{{resolve}}
{{/each}}
</ol>
<template>
The helper code then makes use of Spacebars.SafeString which looks to be preferred with Blaze:
Template.thing.helpers({
all: function () {
return Things.find();
},
resolve: function () {
var result = "<li>";
for (var i = 0; i < this.arrayOfClassNames.length; ++i)
result += <'div class='" + this.arrayOfClassNames[i] + "'></div>";
result += "</li>";
return new Spacebars.SafeString(result);
}
});
The key here is to return the 'new Spacebars.SafeString(result)' to wrap your HTML (which must be well formed).
Having a problem, and so far couldn't get any solutions for seemingly similar SO questions to work. Problem is this:
Using Trigger.io's forge.ajax, my Angular.js view is not updated after the data is returned. I realize this is because forge.ajax is an asychronous function, and the data is returned after the view has already been displayed. I have tried to update the view by using $rootScope.apply(), but it doesn't work for me as shown in the many examples I have seen.
See the Controller code below:
function OfferListCtrl($scope) {
$scope.offers = [];
$scope.fetchOffers = function(callback) {
$scope.offers = [];
var successCallback = function(odataResults) {
var rawJsonData = JSON.parse(odataResults);
var offers = rawJsonData.d;
callback(offers);
};
var errorCallback = function (error){
alert("Failure:" + error.message);
};
forge.request.ajax({
type: 'GET',
url: 'https://www.example.com/ApplicationData.svc/Offers',
accepts: 'application/json;odata=verbose',
username: 'username',
password: 'password',
success: successCallback,
error: errorCallback
});
};
$scope.fetchOffers(function(offers) {
$scope.offers = offers;
forge.logging.info($scope.offers);
});
}
All the code there works fine, and $scope.offers gets populated with the Offer data from the database. The logging function shows the data is correct, and in the correct format.
I have tried using $rootScope.apply() in the logical places (and some illogical ones), but cannot get the view to update. If you have any ideas how I can get this to work, I would greatly appreciate it.
Edit: Added HTML
The HTML is below. Note the button with ng-click="refresh()". This is a just a workaround so I can at least see the data. It calls a one-line refresh function that executes $rootScope.apply(), which does update the view.
<div ng-controller="OfferListCtrl">
<h1>Offers</h1>
<ul>
<li ng-repeat="offer in offers">
<p>Description: {{offer.Description}}<br />
Id: {{offer.Id}}<br />
Created On: {{offer.CreatedOn}}<br />
Published: {{offer.Published}}<br />
</p>
</li>
</ul>
<input type="button" ng-click="refresh()" value="Refresh to show data" />
</div>
You need to change
$scope.fetchOffers(function(offers) {
$scope.$apply(function(){
$scope.offers = offers;
});
forge.logging.info($scope.offers);
});
It is because all changes to the $scope has to be made within the angular scope, in this case since you are calling ajax request using forge the callback is not executing within the angular framework, that is why it is not working.
You can use $scope.$apply() in this case to execute the code within angular framework.
Look at the $apply() methods doc
$apply() is used to execute an expression in angular from outside of
the angular framework. (For example from browser DOM events,
setTimeout, XHR or third party libraries). Because we are calling into
the angular framework we need to perform proper scope life-cycle of
exception handling, executing watches.
do this
function MyController($scope, myService)
{
myService.fetchOffers(data){
//assign your data here something like below or whateever
$offers = data
$scope.$apply();
}
});
Thanks

When I do that I have an error like : "$digest already in progress"...
I'm Working with $q...
Someone knwo how I can resolve this issue ?
yes, this is caused where ur data comes fast enough and angular has not finished his rendering so the update cant update "outside" angular yet.
so use events:

I'm trying to set up a Master/Detail grid using the Grid control from Telerik's Extensions for ASP.NET MVC. My problem is setting up the server template.
The demo I'm following is the first one on this page, except I'm using Razor View Engine.
I have the grid displaying fine. The problem is that I cannot write any sort of a server template that doesn't throw a compiler error - aside from leaving it blank!
#(Html.Telerik().Grid(Model)
.Name("Grid")
.Columns(columns =>
{
columns.Bound(o => o.Date).Format("{0:MM/dd/yyyy}").Width(100);
columns.Bound(o => o.Title).Template(#<text> #item.Title</text>).Sortable(false);
columns.Bound(o => o.Publication).Width(120).Sortable(false);
})
.DetailView(detailView => detailView.Template(e =>
{
//Anything other than this comment will throw a compiler error
}))
.RowAction(row =>
{
// Expand initially the detail view of the first row
if (row.Index == 0)
{
row.DetailRow.Expanded = true;
}
})
.Sortable()
.Scrollable(scrolling => scrolling.Height(494)).Footer(false)
.ClientEvents(events => events.OnRowDataBound("onRowDataBound"))
)
See that comment "anything other than this comment..."? When I replace that with something like #<text> hello</text>, I get a compilation error:
CS1002: ; expected
That doesn't seem to make sense, but I humour myself and put a semicolon in like such #<text> hello</text>;. That gives me this error:
CS0201: Only assignment, call, increment, decrement, and new object expressions can be used as a statement
When I replace that with a portion of the template I really want, namely #<text><b>Slug</b>: #item.Slug</text>, I get the same errors; CS1002 with no semicolon, and CS0201 with a semicolon.
What am I missing here?
There are two ways you can approach this. If you just want to display some simple text and not really integrate any other components it would be the easiest to modify the code you have above to just do this:
.DetailView(detailView => detailView.Template(#<text>test</text>))
As you can see I removed the whole e => { ... } part and just put in #<text></text>.
However, if you want to look into getting more components in your detail view I think it would be better to look at the demo found here. Although the description mentions some WebForms code you don't need to worry, the rest is all in Razor :) It also explains things you have to keep in mind. One of the most important ones is that any components within the DetailTemplate will have to use { ... } as opposed to ( ... ) this is because you want to specifically call .Render(); (using the ( ... ) implicitly calls .Render but at the wrong point for these scenarios) at the end of those components' declaration to make sure they are all rendered correctly.
