I am new in WordPress world (before now I always used Joomla and some other old CMS)
Now I am testing WordPress and I have some doubts about how create a navigation menù in my WP Site.
This is my test site (that at this time have not content but only a template): http://www.scorejava.com/WPTest/
I plan to create articles organized by category and I would have an horizontal top menù like this WP blog: http://viralpatel.net/blogs/
As you can see in this second WP site there is an horizzontal top menù that contains some voices, like "Java", clicking on this voice appear a page showing all the Java posts preview.
As you can see this menù work also with submenù, for example, moving the mouse curso on Java appear the "Java EE" subvoice.
What can I do to have something like this in my Word Press?
And if I want a similar vertical menù in my right sidebar?

It's just a matter of using the "menus" screen from the Dashboard (when you're there, click on "Screen options" and enable all the possible item sources you want to use). Once you've created your menu, assign it to whatever area your theme designates for the top menu.
If you want to add it to a sidebar, just use the "widgets" screen and pick the "custom menus" item.
I think it would help if you read some of the introductory documentation from the Codex.

I was trying to add phone number on the right hand side of my header. So I went to Appearance customize and change under site title and tagline enter the phone number.
But later Want to change to but all three options side title & tagline, navigation and static
frontpage menu is disabled when i try to click the arrow it dosen't work.

You may have a JavaScript error in your theme when viewing the customisation pane. JavaScript errors can (sometimes) cause unrelated areas to not function properly as the JavaScript engine essentially falls over.
I would suggest trying the same with a stock theme (Twenty Twelve, for example), so you can find if it is a theme-specific problem. If it is a problem with the theme then you can consult with the author of the theme.
I'm working on a theme for WordPress and I'd like to add a link in the left navigation that points to the "customize" feature that is built into WordPress.
The only way I know of in WordPress to get to that panel is to go to Appearance > Themes and then click the "Customize" text link next to the theme screenshot. That seems really hidden for an average user.
I'd like to put a text link under "Appearance" that points to that panel. The link that WordPress uses to get there is:
mydomain.com/wp-admin/customize.php
This needs to be in the theme's files, not hacking the WordPress core.

Sorry to state the obvious but the only way you can do this would be to modify the core.
Or possibly add it as a shortcut link in the top black nav bar / dashboard area
I've modified the admin before and it's not unheard of to do it.
I have a WP website which has a home with a top banner and 2 more controllable panel like here.
My question is what is the best way to keep this controllable via admin?
The way I did it was to create two categories by the names "Latest Updates" and "New in 2013!" and then coded it such that the posts coming under the categories gets displayed in their respective panels on the home page. The image as usual controlled via the Featured Image of the post. A pretty basic setup to manage its content via posts to keep the layout intact and at the same time do the task.
I had suggestions where we should keep it right there in WP editor for control i.e. put all the div / ul / li etc. right there in the WP editor using the text part and have the admin control it right from there.
I need to know which method is better for implementation i.e. managing via posts like it is now or keep it right there in the editor and put HTML content in the editor.
All recommendations much appreciated.
Your first one method is correct ,easy and safe.
Safe Because,If accidentally any change in editor then all showing content breaked
I am building a custom WordPress theme and need to add descriptions to my custom menu links. According to WordPress, there is a way to do this:
"The description will be displayed in the menu if the current theme supports it."
Does anyone know how to support this?

Wordpress' documentation on this is misleading. It actually took me quite some time to find out how to do this myself. As long as your theme supports menus (meaning, you've Registered a Custom Menu within functions.php or elsewhere), you can add Link Descriptions and other useful information by default.
In order to SEE these options, go to Appearance->Menus and click on Screen Options (up in the top right-hand corner of the screen). You will be able to enable the options you like under "Show advanced menu properties".
I have installed the MediaFlux theme from Mojo-Themes on my website at www.sjsueconomics.org. Here are my questions:
As you can see on the website, the blue menu at the very top of the page currently displays Page Titles. I want to display External Links there instead. How do I modify the code to do it?
The main menu (red text below the logo) currently displays Categories. Without changing the style or appearance, I want to display the Page Titles instead. How do I do it?

The company you paid for the theme provides support, not a community which has no access to this product.

if the theme supports custom menus, there ought to be a Menus page in the admin, under Appearances probably, or perhaps Settings. Go there, then create a menu with the pages or categories you want, then tell the theme to use the menu you created instead of the default. If the theme doesn't have such a feature, you'll need a programmer.
