Could somebody help me to identify the reason why responsive table is not full width despite the instructions?
Please check this documentation page for the problem found in the first table on the page, http://view.jquerymobile.com/1.3.0/docs/widgets/table-reflow/.
In css it has width=100% applied, but the table is not full width.
It seems I found the problem. The table has this css
.ui-table-reflow.ui-responsive {
display: table-row-group;
}
And if you remove this or change to display:table. Table starts to occupy the whole width.

To get straight to the point my issue is all sections briefly displaying at the same time stacked together upon initial loading.
I found the exact same issue asked by someone else on github and tried setting the height of all sections to 100% in css like so: .fp-section {height: 100%!important;} but it didn't work. (Correct me if I did it wrong.)
Then I finally found a solution that worked which was by hiding the body until the fullpage.js is fully loaded like so:
body {display:none}
body[class*="fp-viewing-"] {display:block}
Everything works fine with this solution EXCEPT for the responsive div that's supposed to show at certain screen width.
To clarify, my html structure consists of <div id="fullpage"> and <div id="responsive"> under body, fullpage div showing by default and responsive div set as display: none under media query and only showing at certain screen width.
What else can I do to stop all sections displaying the same time on first load?
Regarding the issue with the sections, check my answer here.
Basically:
Assuming #fullpage is your fullpage wrapper and that you use the default selectors for sections and slides:
html,
body,
#fullpage,
.section,
.slide,
.fp-tableCell,
{
height: 100%
}
EDIT - As requested here's the Fiddle jsfiddle.net/daghene/eq4tfzLn/
I've already searched a lot on Stackoverflow and Google to find an answer to this but even if there's plenty I don't know why they're not working nor if I'm handling this layout correctly.
Basically I'm using Skeleton responsive framework to make a one-page layout and I have a section where there's a row with this image on the left and text on its right. Below it there's a small twitter paragraph with the latest news.
Basically my problem is: when the first row gets too small and the text starts getting long the image gets way too small and I thought the best solution is to vertically center it, but both it and the div's height are responsive(most solutions requires at least one of the two to be fixed height).
What's your suggestion and far more importantly am I handling this layout well on a logical perspective or is it ok to have paragraphs get THAT long with the image simply sticking to the top?
Note that it displays fine on desktop, tablet and smartphones, there's just that little part where it gets kinda weird...here's the screenshot of how my layout is acting, the third one being the one that I think should be fixed since it's kinda ugly to look at and maybe centering the image would help.
P.s. one thing I forgot, haven't put my code since Skeleton, as most responsive Frameworks, simply requires a .container class with .row and .X columns inside it to give the divs size and centering and I didn't add anything on top of that yet. The only thing I think I'll do is put the sections in a fixed height's div because I plan on making the user scroll them as slides and they'll always need to be 100% viewport height or at least a fixed height like say 600px scaling.
P.s.2 if the only solution is js since we don't know the paragraph's and img's height at all times go ahead and propose a solution, I'm asking if this could be done with CSS since I'm not that good at js yet.
I would give the thanksup row an id - eg vertical and then you can use the following styles to achieve vertical alignment:
#vertical {
display:table;
width:100%;
}
#vertical > .columns {
float:none;
display:table-cell;
vertical-align:middle
}
#media (max-width: 565px) {
#vertical > .columns {
display: block;
}
Updated fiddle
I like to get my table behave like a block element. I cannot set it to width:100% because it does have some padding, this is going to result 100% + the paddings PX.
Check out: http://jsfiddle.net/LScqQ
Finally the table does what I want, can you see the box-shadow? But the table children don't like it that way^^
I guess the TH inside the THEAD are the problem.
They do not get the aspected ratio of 66% to 33%.
Help wanted...
Your table should be display: table. If you're worried about the sizing, use box-sizing: content-box.
The reason is that display: table creates the table layout mechanism the rows and columns need to be laid out; in certain conditions if the required elements aren't there, they will be implicitly created, but it can cause problems. (You can test that out by making a table layout with divs and setting them to display: table, table-row, table-cell, which are the default user agent styles for table, tr, and td elements. If you play around with unsetting the styles on the divs in different combinations, you'll see that sometimes the browser implicitly makes the table layout incorrectly.)
So, always leave the display: table-* styles intact if you want an actual table layout. Sort out your width issues using the appropriate styles for that. If you describe better what you want, maybe you can get a better answer.
Finally I found the answer by myself.
Put your table inside a wrapper container and write a CSS rule similar to this:
//HTML
<div class="wrapper-table">
<table>...</table>
</div>
//CSS
.wrapper-table > table
{
width: 100%;
}
Now the table will no longer overflow your layout and fits perfectly like most elements do.
This is a problem with a theme that I bought, and I have already tried to contact the owner (with no luck).
It should be a fairly easy fix, it's just that I can't work out how to do it! (I have done my research).
You can view the theme here: http://igeekify.com/_templates/liftoff/www/
To re-create the problem, just drag the window size so that it is smaller in width than the content, then scroll to the right. You will notice the header background doesn't stretch all the way.
The background image is for the DIV '#frame-header', which has the class '.wrapper'. I believe that the problem has something to do with the width of '.wrapper' which is defined.
Any help is really appreciated!
I think you might need to add a min-width property to the 'frame-header' div:
<style type="text/css">
#frame-header
{
min-width: 940px;
}
</style>
Try using the following code:
image width:100%;
I have a table that I'm styling with CSS. Yes I know, tables are bad and all that. I want the "grid" of TD's to all have the height of the row they are positioned in.
http://jsfiddle.net/p87Bv/1/
You'll see if they have varying content, they look all jumbled up! Would prefer not to use Javascript.
tables are not automatically bad. tables are perfect for displaying tabular data... even though that doesn't seem to be what you are doing.
move the style from the div to the table cell...check out my updated fiddle for some CSS changes. i think you could remove the divs from the markup now that they aren't being used for anything via CSS
http://jsfiddle.net/p87Bv/5/
All you have to do is give you tds a height, and then give the divs inside a height: 100%.
Here's the fiddle: http://jsfiddle.net/p87Bv/2/
It's hard to understand your question. Maybe you can clarify - is this what you're looking for? Also notice how the overflowing text is in a scrollable div - more on that later.
Link: http://jsfiddle.net/ZFHUm/
If it is, it's as simple as adding the height CSS property. Also, it's always good to address the text overflow, especially in this manner, in case the text inside the table row (div) is larger than the div itself. Add these to the 'table td div' property to achieve the affect in the new fiddle:
height:200px;
/* or whatever height you'd like them to be */
overflow:auto;
/* makes all overflowing text have a scrollbar */
