I am looking for a wordpress plugin that will allow me to add a paragraph to the sidebar that is specific to the blog post. I would need to be able to add that text when creating the post. Is there something out there like that? I have been unsuccessful in searches.

This can be easily solved using Custom Fields, the Text Widget and a Shortcode.
This bit of code goes in the theme's functions.php or, preferable, within a custom plugin.
1) Enable shortcodes for the Text Widget

2) Define the shortcode, read comments for details

3) Add a Text Widget in the desired sidebar.
Leave the title empty and put the Shortcode in the content: [mytext].
4) Now each page or post with a Custom Field named text will have its value printed in the Widget.
5) The $html can get fancy and multiple Custom Fields can be used.
This isn't something that I've ever personally done, but try this.
Summary: You will add the a paragraph using a custom field, then display it in a widget.
Details:
First, make sure custom fields are enabled. Edit a post, then click
the "screen options" at the top right of the page. If "Custom
Fields" isn't checked, check it. You should now see a custom field
area below the post editor.
Come up with a name for your custom field. Perhaps
"extra_paragraph". Now put that in the "name" field in the custom
field area.
Write your paragraph in the "value" field the custom field area.
Install the Custom Field Widget plugin, set it to display this
new "extra_paragraph" field. (widget appears to be untested with newer versions of Wordpress so cross your fingers!)
Now when you write or edit posts you should see this "extra_paragraph" field as an option in the "name" dropdown.

I have a blog with different custom post types ("books", "interviews", "recipes", "events", etc...). those are all appearing in the home page with same format like a grid. I would like to print in the front end a "label" customized possibly, representing the kind/content of post.
For example:
if the post is a CPT "Book", I want to show in the grid cell "looking for a book?"
if the post is a CPT "Recipe", I want to show on same position, for specific post "hungry?"
etc...
Can you maybe help me in this? I guess I need some PHP code and set it with Elementor, but I am not a developer... :(

I have been asked in comment to put a screenshot. this is a fake grid taken from internet (I know, ugly layout), presenting in descending order by date all posts, very different in domain (different custom post types), which I am able to do it. What I need is, depending by Post Type, to add a slogan like "watch the movie" or "hungry?" or "Interview with...", a static string totally dependent by the type of CPT.

You see two "posts" in a grid (3 columns, published with "post" widget in elementor and a custom skin. This custom skin is linked to a "loop" template created with "ele custom skin". As you see by the pic, you have one post which is a recipe (custom post type "Recipe") and one is a book (custom post type is book). But here I can eventually find also a standard post. Now, when you see the "red dot", I would like to put a word, which is directly dependent by the post type:
if "recipe" --> "Hungry?"
if "book" --> "our book reviews"...
etc...

I have custom post types for which having a 'title' field doesn't really make sense, so the post type has none.
Problem is that when you use a post type in a relationship, the user interface for picking which posts to relate wants to display the title.
In the box where you are choosing posts (clicking them and they move to the right pane), can a field other that 'title' be displayed?
It's doable. I would use a filter hook provided by acf plugin 'acf/fields/relationship/result/name=related_posts'. Take a look at the following code:

I'm trying to run a do_shortcode in functions.php with no luck
I'm using Types plugin http://wp-types.com/ for creating custom post types and custom fields.
What I'm trying do is adding a custom column in admin for view all custom posts that displays a thumbnail from a custom field.
This is what I got so far, but it seems that the shortcode doesn't work inside functions.php

In the Wordpress notes for the function it says
"If there are no shortcode tags defined, then the content will be
returned without any filtering. This might cause issues if a plugin is
disabled as its shortcode will still show up in the post or content."
Types may be conditionally declaring their short code only when you are on the frontend. What may be happening is that, in the admin, the short code is not defined and you are simply getting a false return. While on the frontend, the shortcode is defined and you get the results you intended.
I'm trying to get Wordpress to give me a menu item to go to "latest posts." They come up on the frontpage, but once I navigate away, I want a menu item to get back there. It seems so obvious, but several hours later, the best I could do was create a custom menu with a link to "uncategorised" as a workaround. There MUST be a better way! And this way, I get a box saying "Archive of posts filed under the Uncategorized category. " Not wanted!
Create a custom page in your template directory (http://codex.wordpress.org/Pages#Page_Templates) with a custom query (check at http://codex.wordpress.org/Class_Reference/WP_Query, http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/query_posts or http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Tags/get_posts).
Create a page in your admin and select the template you created.
Add a link to this page in your menu and you're done.

It's a filter that will 'search and replace' placeholder anchors such as '#latestpost1' with the actual url of the latest post, and thus dynamically modify the menu before it's rendered.
I'm not sure how this is for SEO, but it's a clever solution.
Give all your posts a category name. Use something generic like "News", "Articles" or "Blogs". Then, choose the category with the name you picked from the menu page under categories. Add this category link to your menu. Rename the link whatever you wish - "Blog" - for example. And, viola - all your posts will appear when people click on that link.

I have the NextGEN Gallery plugin on my wordpress site. Normally I would add this short code in my page content to display gallery items:
[ nggallery id=5 template=custom ]
Now I'd like to replace this by adding custom fields in the Page Attributes setting when you are adding/editing a page. The custom fields would be "Gallery ID" and "Template name".
I'm of course using a custom page template. How can I retrieve the page attributes into this page template?

Anyway, generally, in a template you get your custom fields values using the get_post_meta function in the Loop, like this:
//the last param tell if you want the value returned as a string (true) or an array (false)
get_post_meta($post->ID,'field name',true);
You can echo the returned value or use it for other tasks.
