You need to replace \ with / in your URI string in order to have a valid address:

In our I have company intranet a server, that is responsible for storing files. Initially, the server had to operate only in an intranet environment, but now there is a need to share files with external web applications. Making this server accessible from the internet is not an option.
I want to create a ASP.NET MVC solution that uses the WebClient to get these files from the intranet server and send back them to the user through FileResult of the external app. This client would be provided with custom domain user credentials. So far I have tried to create a CredentialCache class, set correct credentials and append it to WebClients Credentials property like in the following code:

According to the question posted in Domain credentials for a WebClient class don't work it should work, but it’s not. It’s running only if I run the problem on localhost, but when I publish my solution on a test server, it return 401 error. My question is did how to get this working? And is it possible to download files through this method?
UPDATE--- I've published my test app on another server and it started to working. Now the test app is on another server than the server That stores files. Any ideas why it's not working when both are on the same machine?
401 error is unauthorized, so perhaps the issue is related to permissions. Are you sure the user account you are using to login to that folder has the proper access?

The solution was to add an registry entry and add my web apps to this entry to allow back connections.

At first I send request by this:

});
Butajax can't download a file but can receive json/html/js/string format body.
So in extjs, if you want to download file, DO NOT USE ajax request.
And maybe you'll need use native javascript to do it.
For example:

Try like this:

Notice how the url is prefixed with the protocol (HTTP in this case). Also make sure you have replaced the {id} part of the url with the actual id of the image you are trying to retrieve.
I am new to Restlet development, trying to add headers to do a HTTP request. I tried the following code, but got "400 bad request, the header is not valid"

HTTP protocol has a list of allowed headers: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_HTTP_header_fields
ClientID and DeviceID don't seem to be allowed headers. If you want custom headers you should prefix them with "X-".
Try using
attributes.put = ("Content-Type", "myCT");
Altough there might be other problems as well (myCT content-type?). Never used ClientID and DeviceID header also... but I'm a PHP guy :)
The ActiveForums module we're using as part of our DotNetNuke system has a bug in the XML for it's RSS feed. It doesn't correctly encode ampersands, it leaves them as & rather than encoding them as &
I've reported the bug to the company, but in the mean time I need a fix. So what I've done is create an intermediary page that makes a request to the RSS feed via a System.Net.HttpWebRequest.Create(url) and them performs a Regex.Replace to replaces any unencoded ampersands.
The problem is that when I run the code on our production server I get an exception: The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error.
The only reason I could think of was around authentication (As the server requires NTLM), however as far as I can tell I'm doing this part of it correctly. My code is shown below:
