I have another question for you guys. So i'm using the Prospect theme
http://themes.wpbusinessbundle.com/prospect/
And I don't know how to have those elements shown in the demo:
1) have the white ''writing'' space under the slider exactly the same width as the slider (I could also modify this with columns in a desperate case I guess) - now it's full page
2) keep it white! when i put writing in it, the background keeps turning pale blue, and it splits into 2: pale blue and white
Wish I could show you an example but I'm making it local, so... hope you got something out of that and can help me?
Ok, this is what i get when I try to edit the page: http://www.codrutamarin.com/?page_id=745 --- I want it to be dark blue and white, like in the original template shown above - AND for it to be centered under the slideshow.
Pretty hard to understand what you mean tbh. Maybe take a print screen?
Woah what did you do ;P.
You should make a page with the theme template of 'Home page' on the right menu of WP. The large block of text with the large button is just called a 'call-to-action' and this can be accessed by pressing the visual editor button in the 'Visual' view of the page.
After you've published the page, Go to 'Appearance -> Themes' and then on Prospect, select Customize, then 'Static Page' and set the new home page as the static page for the front end of your site.

I'm using Wordpress/Elementor, and I have a problem in my portfolio page.
I want each project page, not to show the “Thumbnail” image in th header, because it takes the image and enlarge it, which makes unreadable, and also it affects the visibility of the project’s title. so it would be much better of the header, only contains the project title, and that’s it, just like how the title of “About’ page is shown, ( please see screenshots ) , just the title ” About”, and that darkened background, I want the same thing the portfolio project pages do, show only the title of the project and that’s it, even the caption of the project is unwanted.
So the idea is : each portfolio project page, show only the title of the project in the header, with the same background in “About” page, without the caption text, because it’s a duplicate.
Link the project sample which contains the issue : https://hilaoui.com/portfolio/project-page/

Thank you so much for your help.
New to wordpress, I am trying to remove the white space between the header and the slider. Basically when I am trying to edit a wordpress page, every time there is an "add title" thing on top of page which I think is the reason for that happening.
This is a picture of the result:
And the wordpress dashboard:
What I am trying to achieve is to put the slider exactly below the header.
Like this :
I am using the Astra Theme and the plugins "mystickymenu" to make my header sticky and the "smart slider" to make the slider.
I have tried installing different themes and tried lots of different plugins, nothing seems to work to remove the "add title thing" completely. Even the disable button from Astra will not remove the feature.
I have also tried additional css to Astra, every new thing I insert to the page starts from the top of the slider, leaving always this white space between the header and the slider.
What am I doing wrong?
When you open the page from pages you have to check "Deactivate title". It will exclude that code in the specific page.
I'm having a problem with my product image loading with the background image. An example to what Im referring to can be found here https://www.dontcursekids.com/product/not-for-kids-tee-2/ .
I have tried deleting the product image from each individual product (which I'm assuming works the same way a featured image works) and it disappeared from the product's page background. However, it also deletes the thumbnail on the shop page and replaces it with a default picture. I've tried numerous ways with CSS, and several plugins, but I still can't remove it from the background of the product page, and keep my thumbnail of for the preview. ANY help would be greatly appreciated.
If you look in the sourcecode on line 233, that's where the background image is set. You can remove that line in inspector (right click -> inspector in firefox/chrome), and you will see that it goes away, which will tell you that this line is the problem. I don't know how this line got there or how you've tried to edit css (through plugins?), but I assume somehow you injected that line of code there, or it could be in your theme files. Either way, this is the line you have to delete.
I'm fairly new to WordPress and I'm working on a site that was created by someone else; I've inherited the entire thing. There is a Hero Slideshow which works, but users have to click on the "tabs" then click on another image (Learn More) in order to go to the page they want; which of course is too much trouble.
I've found the code in front-page.php and I've changed how the spans and a href tags are in hopes of making the "tabs" in the Hero slideshow link directly to the associated pages. Everything looks correct and if you hover over the tabs the browser will show the correct link - however when you click on the tab it simply rotates the slideshow and doesn't actually link to the associated page. I can't find where I can change this behavior.
Anyone have any ideas?
stay well away from the php in wordpress .
just uninstall the hero slideshow and use "Cyclone Slider 2" plugin its very user friendly
easy to use , you can add and change pic and there is a lot of options on movement speeds enbed url links (etc)
I am thinking of adding a small full width and 200px height a div which contain some random post(it will be just random choosen by wordpress), done by me with image and a small <20 words post title.
How can i do this, is there any plugin for it.
After researching and trying i am not getting anything.
Can some one help me here?
1) Go to widget menu..
2) Add the widget to the home sidebar
http://wordpress.org/plugins/spider-random-post/
3) Edit the index.php code and call the home sidebar to header.php file. (It will remain on all pages).
edit the code and css as per your requirement.
