I've spent a couple of days searching the bowels of the internet to find out the answer to my question, so since I can't find the answer I'm throwing it out to the masses...
Within my Qt application I'm able to open a PDF using the OS default viewer thru the following command:
QDesktopServices::openUrl(QUrl("file:////C:help.pdf", QUrl::TolerantMode));
This works fine because all I'm wanting to do is display a help file to a user, but when I try to add a "#page=20" parameter to my URL, the document still only opens to the first page, not page 20. If I cut and paste the command into a browser it jumps correctly.
So -- my questions are:
Would poppler or another viewing tool allow me to jump to a page?
Is there another way with Qt to jump to a page? Or maybe another command to open the file instead of with QDesktopServices?
edit: I tried with QProcess and that doesn't jump to the page either -- not that I expected it to...

No. QDesktopServices::openUrl() ends up calling one of helper commands, such as xdg-open or kfmclient, without any arguments.
Of cause, you can always use libpoppler in your app to open your PDFs. Poppler::Document::page() is your friend.
Another solution I was able to work out was to convert my PDF to HTML, create a QWebView, and display the HTML there. I then added an ID attribute to the HTML doc, and when I tacked that ID to my URL it loaded into the widget at the location of the attribute...

You can make use of this, But this only for BDD styled stories. If you are looking for a plain web driver scripts, try this selenium loggers.
TestNG creates a report in HTML format in 'test-output' folder (or, if you're using testNG plugin in Eclipse, you can specify the path in Window-Preferences-testNG). The folder is created and rewritten after each run. Look for index.html there.
You can add custom information there using Reporter.log (from org.testng.Reporter), the information can be found after 'Reporter output' link in the report. So basically all you need is an #AfterMethod which will take the screenshot and embed it into the log. This discussion may help.
I am pretty new to Sharepoint.
I need to customize some Sharepoint Masterpages (the background color, the font type and a few other css requeriments).
Considering I have available the following files: v4.master, default.master and two more pages which are content pages of default.master, plus the COREv4.css file.
I know I should create a copy of one of those master pages (I am not sure which tho) and customize it changing the CSS linked to it). The following questions come in regards of this:
1) The custom CSS file should be a modified copy of the COREv4.CSS or just another CSS file with the desired styles?
2) How do I create/link the customized CSS file for the modified page via Site Settings?. How/Where should I save the new file?.
3) As for the copy of v4.master, How do I load it to "replace" the original one for the site?.
4) The system is built upon Sharepoint 2010. That ensures that the page to have the modified CSS would be a v4.master copy only?.

I managed to solve the problem getting a general idea with the pdf manual provided, your suggestions and some extra steps I will describe briefly:
1) To place my custom css file I put it in the folder: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\TEMPLATE\LAYOUTS\3082\STYLES
2) I opened the site to be customized with Sharepoint Designer 2010.
3) I clicked on the option Main Pages/Master Pages, and selected the page to be v4.master page, copied and pasted it. Then I renamed it right clicking on it, selecting "Rename" and typed the new name, after doing that I right clicked one more and selected "Set page as main default page".
4) To edit the contents of the page I right clicked once more and selected the option "Edit content in advanced mode", right before the head tag ended I copied and pasted:
<SharePoint:CssRegistration name="customname.css" runat="server" After="core4.css"/>
Note that "customname.css" is my css file. Then I clicked on the floppy disk icon on the upper left side of the screen to save.
5) After doing that I used Chrome HTML/CSS Analyzer, inspecting the original (and now copied) master page to browse on the zones that needed customization in order to identify the class names/ids/element types that managed the styles to be changed. Once identified I only added to them the properties that required change, EG:

I mostly did this by myself by trial and error with Chrome Analyzer but I also helped the task using the Chart found here (http://sharepointexperience.com/csschart/csschart.html), tho at some point going thru it turned a bit tricky and I decided to do it by myself as I mentioned. In the process I repeatedly added more styles to the custom file and then overwrote it on the server location to refresh the page/pages to see how it was looking, this till the end of the process.

You can create a new master page from the scratch or modify the existing one.

It's not advised to modify files of SharePoint.
Better to create new master page file, specify all CSS and script you want inside and install this with feature.
What version of SharePoint do you have? SharePoint 2010 Server or Foundation? Cause with server version you can brand your master page in a cool way:

I want to export a few Pages to pdf/xls. By Pages I mean as the eye sees it - a screenshot of the Page's contents. I know how to build pdf/xls documents using 3rd party tools but is there any way to quickly export the rendered contents of say a Panel?
edit: maybe a tool that can render the page's output as a browser would, and save it as an image file?
There is an open source console program named wkhtmltopdf which you could call from asp.net to convert the page. It can convert to PDF or an image with wkhtmltoimage (JPG, PNG, etc.) using the webkit rendering engine.

I couldn't find a way to put a bookmark inside the code in XCode 4. I know about the #pragma mark thing but it's not what I'm looking for. What I need is something that I can put and remove with a mouse click and navigate amongst with next and previous, like in VS.
Is there anything that I'm missing?
Bookmarks seem to have gone the way of the dinosaur in Xcode 4. This wouldn't have been so bad had the jump-to-bookmark popup above the editor in previous versions not also disappeared. The best replacement currently seems to be to use breakpoints (disabled individually, of course) and navigate with the Breakpoint Navigator.
Shortcut to breakpoints is Cmd + 8. Once there use arrow keys
File a bug report at http://bugreporter.apple.com if you feel something like this should be brought back.

And you can navigate to next / previous with: '^/' or '^?'
<##> means "placeholder of code snippet"
^/ means "jump to next placeholder"

Another option, if anyone is still interested. The following directives will both produce a compiler warning that you can use as a bookmark:
#pragma message "<# message #>"
or
#warning <# message #>
If you want to place bookmarks using your mouse: create a code snippet with one of the 2 directives above. Drag & drop it to the line in your source file that you want bookmarked.
Navigate to next/previous with: Cmd-' and Cmd-Shift-'
In Xcode 4.4, if you leave a comment with this format:
// TODO: Your text here
it will be added as a listing in the jump bar alongside the list of methods in your current file, and then you can jump straight to that comment from that menu.
The simplest technique is to use a comment prepended by // TODO and then search, which allows you to jump through the issues from the navigator. Pretty hard to beat that technique.
I personally don't like using break points for bookmarks because it is not easy to enter notes. I use breakpoints as breakpoints, and prefer not to mix them up with bookmarks.
Anyhow, if you want to get a bit fancier you could get xcode to generate warnings // TODO: some message or // FIXME: some message that can be navigated in the issue navigator. I took the instructions below from this site:
Instructions
Head over to your project's item in the Project Navigator (usually at the very top)
Find your target in the list of targets on the left, select it
Head over to the "Build Phases" tab.
Click the "Add Build Phase" in the bottom right of this screen.
In the editor that appears insert the bash script shown below.
Now just build and you'll see all your //TODO: and //FIXME: comments have become warnings. I love this technique, it might not be right for everyone, but hope it helps someone.

You'll also be able to click on each of the warnings in the issue navigator to go right to the file and point in your code where you left the original //TODO: or //FIXME:
Extra pro tip: Make sure you're using phrases to describe your //TODO: comments like //TODO: Handle this error gracefully, and things like that. The phrases will show up in the issues list beside each warning.
Credit for the little tidbit should go to "Tim" on the Cocos2D forums, (found after Googling for a bit), I believe his solution originally was intended for Xcode 3 and didn't work if you had spaces in your path name, my script here doesn't have those restrictions, still he should get full credit here's his original post.
Like npellow's answer to this question of mine, appCode by JetBrains has also made this possible. So, this may be another reason to use appCode instead of Xcode4, except that it won't be free later in time.
My method:
type in grammar error code in the previous line.....
After changing something in other place, I can go back to the previous place because the grammer error line will show a red line in the right side scroll bar. It indicate the place.
It is not elegant but unless there is a bookmark feature, this is the way i am using at the moment

A bookmarklet is just a javascript program written on a single line of code replacing the usual location attribute (http://www.somestuffhere.com) on a bookmark.
To build your own bookmarklet, I suggest you to use Firebug :
- type your code inside firebug and execute it until what you want to do is working,
- then, remove all new lines in order to have a big one line piece of code,
- create a new bookmark in your browser and, in the location field, write javascript: and copy-paste your single line of code.
You can try a simple bookmarklet by typing that directly in your browser location bar : javascript: alert('this is a very simple bookmarklet'); then type enter to execute it.
Here is a handy bookmarket builder I have sometimes used. It can squash many lines of javascript into one line that can be set as the 'target' of a bookmark
(there may very well be better ones out there than this, but its done the job well for me)
