Sliding Background Images with controls - css

I am trying to build a website which has its background images scroll with left and right controls. Where can I find tutorials to do that?

You can try CoinSlider... see this link for tutorials and demo:
http://workshop.rs/2010/04/coin-slider-image-slider-with-unique-effects/
Also see supersized jQuery plugin [full screen slideshow]
http://www.buildinternet.com/project/supersized/
OR look here for 100 Qjuery sliders, choose the one that will suit your requirement:
http://www.jquery4u.com/plugins/100-jquery-sliders-part1/#.T-YKgRdo2_4

I've used this one in the past and it's worked great. It's uses a fade transition, but I'm sure there are ways to hack it to do slide transitions.

Can't click on links hovering above video in safari

So I have a website with a menu-bar at the top with a sub menu that appears when you hover.
Under the menu, I have a large video playing embedded with the HTML5 <video> tag. However, on safari on ipad, i can not click the links that are hovering above the video, despite me having given them an appropriate z-index.
Can anyone help me out here? :(
edit: here's a jsfiddle: http://jsfiddle.net/7t6c00vn/
The issue seems only to happen on ipad.
The video takes precedence over any other material. Check Putting Video on Canvas on developer.apple.com.
So far as I can see the only solution seems to be to hide the video. Check
A Solution for Overlaid Elements on Video
I would also love to know if there is any other / better solution to this because I'm also in the process of building something using HTML5 and video that needs interaction.
It turns out that it's a sort-of-bug that was fixed with an update for the system. I don't think this problem has a definite answer yet, but I will choose FrankHe's answer as it actually provides some real suggestions and material for the problem.
But yea, things seem to work after the iOS update, so to any end users experiencing overlay problems with Video elements, update your systems! :)
Unfortunately, this also means I no longer have an un-updated device to test on.

Cycling through CSS animations on scroll or click

I'm looking to build something akin to the effect you can see on http://www.meetyourmx.com/ - Specifically I mean how the animations launch on page load then when you scroll, or click through the menu the items are animated in various ways to get you through the site.
How can this one after another effect be accomplished? I'm just using standard CSS3 animations currently. Am I looking at a jQuery/AJAX solution?
Just to clarify I'm trying to recreate the fullheight/no scroll bar synced with the animations.
Thanks in advance.

Wordpress: display static image over slide show

I have a client that is looking for a Wordpress plugin or theme that will display an image over a rotating slider, similar to the home page here: https://www.threebakers.com/
Any thoughts on an out-of-the box solution, or do I need to build this one by hand?
Ironically, I did this exact thing on this site here:
http://www.gilbertmeatlocker.com
Its using the popular Flex Slider, but its not Wordpress. I was working with Drupal on that particular site, so its a custom implement of the stand-alone javascript Flex Slider.
I had to fiddle around with z-index and I used negative-margins to move elements into position.
That particular implementation on gilbertmeatlocker.com is extra complex because the silver frame around the edge is also overlapping the Flex Slider. I would recommend not doing a frame like this if possible, though. It added some serious bugs that were difficult to make work on all browsers.
Putting a single image over the slider like your bakery example or the gilbertmeatlocker.com logo shouldn't be a problem though.
If noone else recommends something better, you could try Flex Slider. There is a Wordpress version of it.

How do I show flip effect in flex viewstate?

I'm new to Flex.
I want to build cool web application in flex.
For displaying content of my site, I use viewstack and button bar. It is ready, but now I'd like to add some animation effect in that.
For example changing the navigation content shows flip animation.
So how do I do that?
Help full link.
This sounds similar to another question: How can I nicely animate between viewstacks.
Perhaps that will help?
That example shows the most basic kind of animation which is readily available using open and widely supported web-standards such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. The jQuery library will allow you to do this in just a few lines of code. Do you have an absolute requirement for flex?

Flex - Changing the color of a Custom scrollbar using CSS properties

Currently, I am implementing a scrollbar using a custom embedded image using my CSS stylesheet. This is a very simple, thin scrollbar. I would like to configure this scrollbar using CSS properties at runtime, but so far I have been unable to do so.
I know it can be done because I've seen examples of it in the net, but no code to review. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks!
This blog has an example that you can view the source of with a right click:

This one has a few links that redirect to examples with image skins:

You can see a lot of the css stuff for scrollbars and pretty much everything else here:
