Using the dialog and adding different form elements.
My dropdowns will not stay open when you click the arrow button on the dialog. You can HOLD down the button, but the click just shows the options and then it disappears.
Anyone seen this?
http://jsfiddle.net/tvance929/7pvb6/ -- This is an example of what I doing in a small measure... however, unfortunately this isn't displaying the issue I am experiencing. I'm guessing it has something to do with the fact that I am ajax'ing in info to the dropdowns and or adding extra styling...

Did I miss something?
Is this a known issue?
Yes, this is a known issue. If a tooltip and a menu are provided, a combined popup should be shown including the tooltip text and the menu items. But this has not been implemented yet. Feel free to open a bug.
However, if you only have one action you could set the property hasAction to true instead of using a menu. This will bring up a clickable arrow inside the field, actually intended to follow a link or open the email client. But you could also use it for any other action as well, just implement execAction. Please note that this feature is only available for string fields so far.
StringField with hasAction=true:
When I add a drop-dialog to a list page, the drop dialog drops down when I click on it, but does not disappear when I click somewhere else.
I am trying to add my own drop-dialog, but I can reproduce this issue with standard Dynamics AX objects. I guess I am just missing some property on an object, but I just cannot figure out which one.
If you want to reproduce my problem in order to solve it, do the following:
Create a new Form. (Form 1)
Change the FormTemplate property to ListPage (Click on Yes)
Add the query MainAccountListPage to the DataSources
Create an ActionPanTab.
Add a Drop-dialog button with the menu item MainAccountListPageBalanceParameters.
Save and open the new List page by right clicking and choosing open. (or open the menu item)
In my case, when I click on Parameters, the drop dialog drops down. When I then click outside the drop-dialog, it disappears as it should.
Create a new display menu item. Set the object to the new list page (Form 1)
Drag the Menu item to any menu. I added mine to General ledger (Common)
Restore, open new workspace. Click on the new menu item in the general ledger menu.
Click on “parameters” and click outside the drop dialog.
When I do this the drop dialog does not disappear again. You can see this same drop dialog working fine on the Main Accounts list page. I have tried changing properties on both menu items, on the menu, on the form etc. I have tried different drop dialogs and different list pages. It always works on the details page and when opened from the AOT.
Am I missing a property? Is the entire way I am adding the drop dialog wrong?
The answer to the above example is.. add the MainAccountDetailPart Form part to the list page's (Form1) Parts.
With my other example, EcoResProductPerCompanyListPage, I had to add the EcoResProductVariantsPerCompanyFactBox to Parts.
I have no idea why this is, but adding a part to a list page fixes the drop dialogs. For example, adding MainAccountDetailPart Form part to a new list page not only fixes the MainAccountListPageBalanceParameters in my example, but it also fixes any other drop dialog that previously did not want to close. Removing the part the breaks all the drop dialogs in the list page again.
Thanks, FH-Inway, for the suggestion, I would have never have found the answer without your method. The solution really surprised me!
I have a responsive layout where the desktop view shows search, logo, login. In the xs/mobile view I would like the search and login to collapse into buttons. I can get this layout working just fine. The issue is that in the desktop view, I have a Search Options link that opens a popover with tabbed search forms. I'd like to still have that once you click the collapsed search button. My issue is that the popover is being created inside the tag instead of after it.
How can I set it up so that there is one div holding the search options that can be displayed from either the desktop view (search bar, Go button, search options link) as well as the mobile view (just a button with a search icon).
I am not tied to the popover- I just liked the look of it and I am not sure how to deal with the data-toggle as it currently is set to "collapse" and it seems I might need it to be able to also somehow be set to "dropdown."
Hopefully there is an easier/better way to do this!
Sorry to bother you, but I was hoping you could help me. We are currently building a new web site and have run into some issues with our programmer. I am trying to do some research to see if we can find a way for my issue to be solved so that I can let my programmer know.
First issue:
Go here: http://tinyurl.com/276we3f
At the pop-up just enter some example text.
Now, when you hover over any text boxes on the left of the card, you will see that the text boxes become highlighted with a border. If you click in a text box, a properties pop-up appears that allows you to change the font, color, alignment, etc. When you click close, it will take you back to the product and will highlight the text. I want the user to be able to click anywhere within a text box to type new text. For example, in the bottom text box, where it says "join us to celebrate", the user should be able to click anywhere in that text to change the wording. They might want it to say "join me to celebrate" instead of "join us to celebrate". However, if they click next to the word "us" so that they can change it....the pop-up appears.
Is there a way to just have a pop-up appear to the side and not have the background grayed out and disabled?
Also, is there a way to be able to click anywhere in the text box to edit just certain words or letters?
Second and final question:
If you click on "Click to add photo", you will see a pop-up appear that allows you to upload an image, edit it, etc. After uploading the image, I want the user to be able to move the image around with their mouse by dragging it and positioning it in the exact spot that they want it in. We also have the arrows where they can click the up, down, left or right arrow in the image editor pop-up....but I would like for them to be able to drag the image with their mouse as well. We know how to enable dragging of the image. However, the problem occurs when the user releases the mouse button. On the mouseup when the user is done dragging....the pop-up will appear since the pop-up is triggered by the release of the mouse button.
Does that make sense?
Sorry for the long message and THANKS SO MUCH for your help!
For the first part of your question, when showing the dialog box for the properties of the text area, you can pop it up as a non-modal window. This means the properties dialog will show but will not lock out the rest of the UI, enabling the user to change the text however they like. It also means the background does not blur/grey out. To pop up a window in a non-modal state, call PopUpManager.createPopUp (or PopUpManager.addPopUp) with the third parameter (modal) set to false.
For the second issue, set a member variable such as "isDragging" to true when you detect that the user is dragging the image around. Then on mouse up, only display the pop up if isDragging is false.
Hope that helps.
I'm trying to design a UI in Qt and I can't find anywhere in the designer a button which can be "droped down" like combobox. What I mean by that is that I would like to have this button with his "default" option choosen so if I like it I would have to just click on it but if I would like to choose different option I would be able to clik the little arrow on the right side of this button and then pick option suitable for me at that moment.
You're looking for a QToolButton that has a set of actions or a menu set on it. From the documentation, the QToolButton::ToolButtonPopupMode...
Describes how a menu should be popped up for tool buttons that has a menu set or contains a list of actions.
Of it's values, the two that I see most frequently are DelayedPopup:
After pressing and holding the tool button down for a certain amount of time (the timeout is style dependant, see QStyle::SH_ToolButton_PopupDelay), the menu is displayed. A typical application example is the "back" button in some web browsers's tool bars. If the user clicks it, the browser simply browses back to the previous page. If the user presses and holds the button down for a while, the tool button shows a menu containing the current history list
And MenuButtonPopup:
In this mode the tool button displays a special arrow to indicate that a menu is present. The menu is displayed when the arrow part of the button is pressed.
