When I run a second meteor application, I get the following message:
Can't listen on port 3000. Perhaps another Meteor is running?
Running two copies of Meteor in the same application directory
will not work. If something else is using port 3000, you can
specify an alternative port with --port .
To start meteor on a different port (eg 3002) just run:
meteor --port 3002
In the project directory.

Is there a way to keep internet connection alive while application is switched to another task, such as PhotoChooserTask or ShareStatusTask? I've already seen background agents, but they doesn't meet my needs.
No. Launching a task is pretty much the same as launching another application: your own application gets turned off and stops running. Therefore, it isn't possible to keep open the existing network connections, nor to do any kind of background processing.

I want to open a file in the folder (/root/Desktop/HTMLFiles/sample.html) as http://localhost/HTMLFiles/sample.html. I'm using a Linux machine.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks in advance,
Gnik
place HTMLFiles under your webroot. If you dont wnat to do that check https://serverfault.com/questions/295975/add-a-directory-to-the-apache-web-root
You most certainly have python installed. I would use the simple HTTP server bundled with Python:
python -m SimpleHTTPServer
Just navigate to the directory you want to serve files from and run that command.
You will be able to see the content at http://127.0.0.1:8000 or http://localhost:8000

Ho to connect the java server to flex application?
Is Blazeds plays a role here (or) Remote services?
you can connect a Java BackEnd in more then a couple of ways
you can use BlazeDS and thus applying AMF to your application and binary communication between the two.
you can also work with WebServices and move Json/XML back and forth from the server to the client and vice versa.
This is a great link if you want to learn a bit about BlazeDS

what is the basic steps to build social network without using the websites that provide a free social network?
Is it need a separate server? ok I can't buy the server !
How do I can start without spend any money?
You should start with a dedicated server(if you can get a static IP from your internet provider you can host it yourself from your computer, or try some free servers, but they won't be dedicated), a database(if you are going for free MYSQL or SQL Express), some form of GUI that connects to the database showing data (asp.net with visual studios express is what I would prefer). And then just like that you have a networking site...
