XCode 4 IB: Can't see bounds or geometry. Dragging = Guessing - xcode4

I'm not sure what I did, but today I was unable to see the bounds of objects in Xcode 4.3.2.
Anyone know what's up? I'm not sure if I accidentally pressed a hotkey or something...I can resize things but I can't see the size or what I've selected. If I type in a static text field there's no text indicator. I type blindly and hit enter.

Apparently NSImageCells overlap all of the constraints. Just move it to the back of the hierarchy and everything should be fine.

Xcode 8 Object Library stopped working

I was working with base64 which kept giving errors in Swift3, and now the object library has stopped working. I can't drag and drop buttons, or anything else onto a view.
I have tried product clean, turned Xcode on and off, turned the computer on and off. Still not working.
Also, my touch pad will right click on other items, such as the info.plist. But, it will not right click on the object library items, such as button, label, and textfield.
It works now. I tried several things, and found how to get the plus sign, drop indicator to work.

find key presses from layout controls (not entry field) in xamarin.forms

I need to find what key the user pressed on a keyboard using xamarin.forms, ideally inside an AbsoluteLayout. I've come up with a few ways myself, but can't get any of them working.
As there isn't an event for this on the AbsoluteLayout control, i tried a little cheat, which was putting an entry field (textbox) on the screen, but hiding it above, so it can't be seen and using the result from that, but it loses focus when someone presses the screen or a button on the screen. so i tried adding an event to each button which refocuses the textbox once i've handled the press and this seemed ok at first, however, if they press anywhere else on the screen, it also loses focus.
I also tried adding a TapGestureRecognizer to the screen, and focusing the button when they press anywhere on the screen, however, there were 2 issues with this, the first being that it appears to only fire when something inside it is touched, and secondly, when i call the focus method for the second time (if they click the screen twice) it un-focuses the entry field, even if i check "isfocused" first (think this is a bug).
I'm only concerned about windows 8 and android apps so far. iOS may come later, but for now im just trying to get it working for these OS's. so maybe i could code it in the windows and android projects (inside my shared project solution), however, i have absolutely no idea where to even begin doing that. I mean, if this is the best way, how can i pass my AbsoluteLayout to the windows project and get it to know what it is, and convert it into a control which i can then add the event to.
Any help or advice, or ideas would be much appreciated. I cant find anything in NuGet which will help me with this. Any ideas?
Many thanks
James

JavaFX 8 Dialog Button Area

Please see this gist to see what I am trying to achieve: https://gist.github.com/d9e22915234e6ea34d20
The code is heavily cut down on the problem I face. As you can see when running the code there is a "miss" detected on the label or the text area (if you miss it by 5em or whatever). Unfortunately this does not work for the Dialog's own buttons OK and Cancel (Please run the code and you will see immediately what i am talking about). If you click near an FX-Node it should detect wheter you missed it or not.
Does anybody know if it is possible to detect clicks in the Dialogs button area?
And if it is possible, how to link them to the node like the label and the area?
Thank you in advance.
From what you're seeing, I would guess that the Dialog consumes click events in the button bar, so they don't make it to the Window (which is where you added the EventHandler). If you really want to do this, you can change addEventHandler to addEventFilter. This works for me.
Read this tutorial if you want to find out why this works:

How to commit build settings in popover on Xcode

In Xcode 4.3.1, I am having extreme difficulty whenever I try to change a build setting such as "Other Linker Flags".
If I double-click, a pop-up shows which ostensibly allows you to add/remove values. However, there is no "done" button and all key combinations I've tried (enter/command-enter/etc...) fail to commit the values I've entered.
It is possible to enter a value without the pop-up by /slow/-double-clicking (WTF, Apple?!?) the edit line. This works, but why the heck does is the pop-up the default double-click result when it seems to be totally useless, misleading and annoying?!?!
A similar question is Editing Build Settings in xcode 4 but bugloaf's question of what to do when there is no "done button" remained unanswered.
This is more to do with how to interact with popovers in OS X in general. "Transient" popovers force you to click outside them to dismiss. Whatever changes you make inside them should always be "committed" by the time the popover is dismissed. This is standard Mac behavior.
So to answer the unanswered question: Click outside the popover to dismiss/commit.
As you ssuggested, you can slow-double-click (once to select, pause, once to begin editing cell) to edit text cells inline without the popover. This is also standard Mac behavior.
The double-click action is a secondary effect and can be taken to mean "give me a bigger editor for this field" - this seems to be just Xcode behavior. File bug reports if you think there should be a better mechanism. Be prepared to describe a better mechanism.

Xcode 4 Inspector Panel tells me "No Selection" no matter what

I have a window, a label, a button, and an NSObject.
The first thing I want to do is change the NSObject's class to that of my custom controller.
The thing is, I can't seem to select it. Whatever object I select, the inspector panel says "No Selection". Why? I'm baffled.
accepted answer did not work for me, but answer by 'NSExplorer' did (In Xcode4, the new interface builder says "no selection"). i slightly modified answer from 'NSExplorer'
.. switch to another (non IB) file in the current tab
.. switch back to the IB file (eg. Main.storyboard)
the Attributes Inspector will magically show in the new tab.
I just had to close the assistant editor and the debug area and then it magically showed up. If you don't have the assistant editor open then all you need to do is open it, then close it again. That should fix it too.
If you don't know what the assistant editor is I have highlighted it in red:
Xcode 7.2
The interface builder in XCode 4 is incredibly buggy. I'm also having frequent issues like this. Have you tried closing XCode and re-opening your project? Sometimes, resizing the entire XCode window also seems to reset the interface builder layout.
Make sure you're selecting the objects from the XIB document panel (Where it says "Objects") on the left. Sometimes clicking the actual UI controls doesn't catch in the inspector panel, for whatever reason.
For me, I had the bottom, debugger stretched all away to the top. It said "no selection." By Taping on hide/open bottom debugger twice, you can get the main component back again.
If you have multiple windows, close the storyboard file and open it again, it worked for me
