symfony2 console arguments - symfony

I want to create a single named argument/option for symfony command. And want symfony to distinguish those 3 options:
my:command, which means something like my:command --arg=null
my:command --arg, which means my:command --arg=defalutValue
my:command --arg=someValue, which is fully explicit.
I.e. I want two working modes for code under that command: default one and non-default with additional argument, and that arg should have default value.
I understand, that I could create 2 args, but I'm looking for one-arg-to-rule-them-all solution.
Is it possible to accomplish that with built-in classes or should I create custom ones? If solution is only available with custom classes, please tell me, where to start (i.e. "create subclass of ..." or "install a bundle named ..."), cause I'm not familiar with Symfony2's architecture.

It is possible:
->addOption('arg', 'a', InputOption::VALUE_NONE)
my:command => $input->getOption('arg') //false
my:command --arg => $input->getOption('arg') //true
my:command --arg=5 => $input->getOption('arg') //5

Answer by corvax is incorrect and doesn't work. As of today, you just cannot achieve this.
It is even stated in the Console documentation: Using Command Options.
See also these issues on GitHub:
#8135 [Console] Input options with InputOption::VALUE_OPTIONAL and InputOption::VALUE_NONE not working as expected
#11883 [Console] Added three state long option
#12769 [Console] Ability to use option default only if the option was passed
#12773 [Console] Add method to know parsed option

Symfony2 have console component which can be used separately. You can see documentation here. For more example you can check implementations of SensioGeneratorBundle.

How can I create cutom fields in Phabricator Manipfest programmatically?

How can I use the maniphest.custom-field-definitions for Phabricator from the cli? I know how to create the custom fields using the UI based on the docs, but I am trying to do this using a command line option by passing in the JSON as stdin if possible.
I am aware that I can conduct various operations from the command like like config, auth, api etc etc, but I could not find a pointer on how to work with custom fields from the command line.
You can use the following command to edit the custom field definitions from a shell:
phabricator/bin/config set maniphest.custom-field-definitions "{ your customfield json here}"
Note:
This is the same answer that I provided on phabricator-community.org. Posting it here as well for posterity.

Programmatically add key mappings in Atom

I'm creating several commands programmatically and want to avoid having to add key mappings for them explicitly in keymap.cson.
The Flight Manual page for Keymap Manager shows an add method. It doesn't give an example of how to actually use this method, so my guess is that this should work:
atom.keymaps.add('atom-text-editor',{'alt-1':'custom:my-command'});
However, this does not appear to work. When I run this in the developer console, I get this message:
Encountered an invalid key binding when adding key bindings from 'atom-text-editor' 'custom:my-command'.
I got this message even if I changed alt to ctrl.
What does the correct method call on atom.keymaps look like.
I agree, the docs are not detailed enough. However, through trial and error, I managed to figure it out:
atom.keymaps.add('foo', {
'atom-text-editor' : {
'alt-1': 'custom:my-command',
'#': 'application:about'
// etc
}
});
Explanation:
atom.keymaps.add(source, bindings, priority);
The source argument is not the same as what is referred to as the selector in Atom speak. Instead, it's an identifier that can be used to remove the keybindings, should you wish to (except it seems they haven't actually implemented a remove method!).
Instead, the selector should go inside the bindings argument, as shown above.

reading yaml from twig

Preface: in ez4 i remember there was a tpl function to read ini settings, we used to use this to pass specific locations or id's with which we could then render certain content.
In ezplatform I am now doing the same thing but by using the PreContentViewListener (in the PreContentViewListener read a yml file and pass into the view as params), but this doesn't feel like the correct way as the PreContentViewListener doesn't always get triggered, in custom controllers for example.
Question
Is there a native way to read yaml files from within twig templates? After searching the docs and available packagists i cannot find anything :/
If your needs are simple (i.e. reading container parameters), you can also use eZ Publish config resolver component which is available in any Twig template with ezpublish.configResolver.
You can specify a siteaccess aware parameter in format <namespace>.<scope>.<param_name>, like this:
parameters:
app.default.param.name: 'Default param value'
app.eng.param.name: 'English param value'
app.cro.param.name: 'Croatian param value'
where default, eng and cro are different eZ Publish scopes.
You can then use the config resolver to fetch the parameter in current scope with:
{{ ezpublish.configResolver.parameter('param.name', 'app') }}
If you have Legacy Bridge installed, this even falls back to legacy INI settings if no Symfony container parameter exists:
{{ ezpublish.configResolver.parameter('SiteSettings.SiteName', 'site') }}
Disclaimer: Some say that using config resolver is bad practice, but for simpler usecases it is okay, IMO.
Have a look to our CjwPublishToolsBundle.
https://github.com/cjw-network/CjwPublishToolsBundle
https://github.com/cjw-network/CjwPublishToolsBundle/blob/master/Services/TwigConfigFunctionsService.php
Here we have 2 wrapper twig functions
{{cjw_config_resolver_get_parameter ( 'yamlvariablename', 'namespace default ezsettings') }}
=> ezpublish siteaccessmatching
{{cjw_config_get_parameter( 'mailer_transport' )}}
=> core symfony yaml reader without siteaccess
You could do a lot of things in eZ 4 and not always really good for your application design. ezini was able to read the configuration from the template but now in eZ Platform and by extension Symfony you need to respect more common patterns. IMO the view should not be that smart.
Then injecting variables to the view from a listener (PreContentViewListener or your own) is not a bad idea.
You can also use the Twig Globals that could allow you to do 2 global things:
inject variables (1)
inject a service (2)
Look here: https://symfony.com/doc/current/templating/global_variables.html
(2): please don't inject the service container globally it is bad
(1): I don't remember if the Twig Globals are Site Access aware, if not injecting your own service (2) to manage access to the config might be better.
And finally, I think that the use case is not a common one:
we used to use this to pass specific locations or id's with which we could then render certain content.
Most of the time it is a bad idea to pass ids coming from the configuration to render something, it is much better to organize the content structure to let you pull the location you want using the PHP API. (no id in configuration no hassle with dev, stage, preprod and prod architecture)

RobolectricGradleTestRunner vs RobolectricTestRunner.class

In roboelectric when you write your test class you have declare the #RunWith annotation of which there is RobolectricGradleTestRunner and RobolectricTestRunner.class. What is the difference and which one should we use ? Why is there 2 in the first place. If I use RobolectricTestRunner then it does not work for me it says some weird error like :
"java.lang.IllegalStateException: You need to use a Theme.AppCompat theme (or descendant) with this activity."
However this seems to go away if I use RobolectricGradleTestRunner.
RobolectricTestRunner was first and is for maven based projects.
RobolectricGradleTestRunner was for gradle based projects because some paths have changed.
Since robolectric 3.1.1 this is not more necessary and is now deprecated.

how to write syntax for key value fair symfony console

I want to update inventory based on sku.
For example
php magento update_inventory --sku&quantity=array(1001,10) --sku&quantity=array(1002,20) --sku&quantity=array(1003,30)
But I’m not getting how to add options/arguments ?
here user at least need to provide one pair (sku& quantity).
for this i think i have to use ArrayInput class/InputArgument/InputOption.
Can you give some solution or reference to above requirement?
Have you looked at how Magento\Setup\Console\Command\AdminUserCreateCommand uses options? Take a look at how that code uses getOptionsList in the configure method. For your use case you may want to look into using InputOption::VALUE_IS_ARRAY
A good reference will be http://symfony.com/doc/current/components/console/introduction.html#using-command-options
You may also want to consider a different input format. For example using arguments instead of options and specifying the format in documentation.
php magento update_inventory 1001:10 1002:20 1003:30
