Apple says that a 144x144 application icon is now required for the high-res iPad. But adding an <image144x144> element to the application descriptor file in Flex 4.6 gives an error 103: application.icon.image144x144 is an unexpected element/attribute.
Is there a workaround for this? Perhaps through the iPhone InfoAdditions area of the application descriptor?
Are you adding <image144x144> under the <icon> tag in the xxx-app.xml file? It works OK for me. I have had problems with icons with transparent pixels but, normally, uncommenting the <icon> section works fine.
For anyone coming across this question, this thread suggests that Adobe needs to release an update to support the larger icon size, and that the user Colin Holgate will post if he hears news about it from Adobe.

I want to force a white background in my NativeScript application, regardless of the device's theme. However, I haven't found a way to do this. My apps all seem to convert white background colors to dark counterparts when my Android 10 device is in dark mode.
I've tried in new projects, and even the NativeScript playground. Nothing works.
I've added CSS to root elements, disabled forceDarkMode in styles.xml, set everything to use .ns-light...the list goes on. Nothing.
Am I missing something? PLEASE tell me I'm missing something.
For iOs Manoj's link works (using Info.plist edits) - on Android I had to add this in my main.ts:
import Theme from '#nativescript/theme';
...
Theme.setMode(Theme.Light);
Problem.
Only Internet Explorer browser doesn't display font-awesome icon.
Funny thing is it's been working until yesterday.
This is a link, check this out.
Try the link above with IE, then there will be a white, thick horizontal line, which is supposed to include an "?" icon in the middle.
Try it again with Chrome, FireFox, Safari and anything, then "?" icon will appear in the middle of the line.

I'm hosting this website on Microsoft Azure. It's free mode by the way.
There's no additional configuration for MIME type. This web is based on MVC5.
Strangely enough, CSS properties on :after persudo are all canceled in IE like there's overridings on the element or something ( which is absolutely not!! ), please inspect it with F12 tool. This is probably a clue for you. ( I completely have no idea of why the properties got canceled )
What I've done...
Setting MIME type manually
Checking if IE is on compatibility mode or registered as it is.
Looking at console log, to see if there's an error on any font-related resources.
Diagnosing with F12 network menu.
Googling with this issue and finding possible answers in Stackoverflow.
What seems to be the matter? It worked until yesterday but today it just doesn't all of sudden. I deleted some codes I added today, making the resources absolutely same as yesterday, but it still doesn't work. It drives me crazy!!
you must upgrade your font-awesome package and use this in #font-face{}
src: url('../font/font-awesome.eot?#iefix') format('embedded-opentype'),
i hope helfpul
I'm using Bootstrap 3's Glyphicon,
Some icons such as glyphicon-fire, glyphicon-calendar is displayed as "📅" in Firefox but it's working fine in Chrome.
I'm very sure the fonts and css's location is right,
I've tried every package of bootstrap from http://getbootstrap.com/ and github, but none of them worked.
Please tell me how can I fix this issue, thanks.
P.S: it's getting weird, the icon-calendar is displayed when I press ctrl-f5, but when I f5 it's displayed as "📅" again.
In Bootstrap 2.3 glyphicons were an image, but in V3, they're made into an icon font.
I can only think of one problem, and it's the charset.
Make sure you have <meta charset="utf-8"> in your page.
If that's not enough, assuming you're using Apache2 as your webserver, create a .htaccess file in your site directory containing this
AddDefaultCharset utf-8
Hope this helps!
The only workaround that I know of is to make images of what you wan't though there might be other simpler ways of doing it.
If you are on a mac then you can open it in chrome and take a small screenshot of it before editing it so that it looks good
If you are on a windows machine then you will need to make a big screenshot or zoom in and make a screenshot from up close
I am creating an application for the samsung smart tv. The problem I am facing rite now is with the emulator version 2.5. This emulator version is using the maple browser and I have checked and found out that Maple browser is not using the CSS 'background-size' property. Can somebody please tell me how I can use this size property for Maple? I don't want to use the image tag in my application.
Thanx
I'd suggest using a javascript based equivalent since that browser doesn't support CSS3 as far as I can see.
Here's a couple of examples:
http://louisremi.github.com/jquery.backgroundSize.js/demo/
http://nooshu.com/jquery-plug-in-scalable-background-image
You can use javascript solution as #BillyMoat mention - but in my opinion the best way is to use normal img tag as SmartTVs have very limited performance.
Adding to much JavaScript operations on DOM can just hang your application.
I'm adding responsive styles for our website built in Plone 4 CMS and testing on an old iPod 2 device. When viewing on this device, the logo.png does not display. Plone.org top left logo has similar problem and does not appear on this device. Other Plone websites tested have logos appearing.
I've changed the logo to a different format, i.e. logo.gif, and logo.jpg in the 'base_properties.props' file with no improved results. I was careful to ensure spelling of logo files was accurate.
Many Thanks
It's explicitly removed in the mobile.css file:
https://github.com/plone/plonetheme.sunburst/blob/master/plonetheme/sunburst/skins/sunburst_styles/mobile.css#L11
#portal-logo {
display: none;
}
I believe you just have to add the icon to a link object in the element.
Take a look at http://www.falsepositives.com/index.php/2011/01/31/adding-favicons-for-moble-safari-web-sites-ipodiphoneipad/
This could be done by customizing the main_template or by customizing/adding a viewlet that is in the head.
