I am writing this with no experience of using LESS. However I just wanted to know that if I have a LESS stylesheet for a page and a client viewing the page say changes the size of the page, can I have custom rules which sets the pixel value of an element if the page is resized to say less than 50% or can dynamically change the font of a heading on page resize?
The answer to your question is: YES

Amongst other wiki-pages Arduino#Official_boards - Wikipedia the <gallery mode="packed">thumb for Adruino_Nano.jpg has a caption that is so narrow that it breaks on the word "Nan<br />o".
I know I could rotate the image but, I'm asking if there is a way to force a minimum width of a thumbnail possibly via some css-style padding if yes then the MediaWiki gallery page needs to mention what are the acceptable styles and, if not then. Where should I request any new gallery parameters or should I file a bug report on phabricator? or ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
In CSS you have the property min-width.

I'm having a hard time figuring out the most efficient way to resize text for mobile. I know per the documentation, making the text size responsive to the screen is fairly straightforward, simply add the is-size-*-mobile class to an element to reset the text size to the value of * (1-7) for mobile devices. What elements are the best place to do this? For example, I would like to be able to have all the text on screen change to size 7 on mobile, but so far I've had to add the is-size-7-mobile class to almost every text container on the page. While it's not impossible to do, it seems to be defeating the purpose of having such a class available through CSS.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Although they lack a specific example, those Typography helpers are meant to be added to the element that holds the content you want to modify.
For example, if you want to modify the whole document consider adding it right to the body element:
<body class="is-size-7-mobile layout-documentation page-helpers">
The above example works on their documentation page you liked in your question. Just hit F12, add the modifier, and voilà, all the page changes text size.
I am working on my first website and I encountered a problem with the responsiveness of the fields in my search form. I use Wordpress theme and plug-ins and I am overriding their styles with my own.
The field groups for "Price"and "Build-Up Area" don't behave as expected when I change the size of the browser window. I created media queries for every browser size which breaks the structure, but it seems that I need about 10 separate queries, even more, which I consider as inappropriate.
(e.g. I have a query for max-width 780px and then it appears that I have to create another one for max-width 767px, because for that browser size the structure is broken again) .
I have red the original CSS code of the theme/plug-in, but I can't understand where the problem comes from.
What am I doing wrong?
Thank you in advance!

Dont write css as per window size. Set the width in % for all screensize. For mobile, show the input field as one by one width as 100%.
I have been trying to learn how to design web pages using responsive web design. I have come across an interesting example that I do not understand:
http://www.sixty-nine.us/collections/general/
On this page on a desktop you will see gifs but when you shrink the browser enough you will see still images.
I thought this type of change in content was not possible with responsive web design because it can only control the style not the content. I was hoping someone could tell me what is actually happening here, and if my conception of the limitations of responsive web design to not change content is correct.
Any responsive design is based on #media CSS queries where you can choose which style should be applied on elements on which screen sizes (CSS approach)
Or using some JS code which monitors window width and shows/hides some elements or does what it should do. (JS approach)
They are actually looping videos and not gif. If the resolution is low the video is hidden, and jpg shown using display:none. Check the end of their stylesheet: http://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0515/5693/t/2/assets/legend.css?7907595077267123575
They are using #media to control how it is shown on different devices. Read more about #media here:

Responsive web design is a wide variety of information on the Internet ,and the information is abstract,philosophical,and anecdotal.
Most of the time, in responsive mode we hide or display content.
For example: slideshow can be hidden in 480px less screens. for that we display a banner still banner with large text to explain the section / content.
So content can be changed with CSS. But the content does not change or added. Normally content is already loaded. But the showing will be changed with the responsiveness.
PS. your link does not work.
In an ecommerce site, I would like to display number of items in a row according to browser width, but minimum will be 4 items. Just like what has been done in Amozon site, if you try to browse amozon.com, try to maximize and shrink your browser, you will find that number of items display in [More Items to Consider] section is according to your browser size. It is smart enough to know when it should fully hide or show an item, no partially visible item forever.
Anyone know what is this technology called? Any idea how this can be done? Thanks in advance.
You can do this with float elements in a div with overflow:hidden. I'll jsfiddle a proof of concept for you.
JSFiddle:
http://jsfiddle.net/WLEzw/
Make your browser window bigger and smaller and you will see more and less pears.
That is just CSS based.
An example of what you want to accomplish from a friend website redesign
shrink and wide the browser so you can see the effect
You can also use JQuery to moniter whether browser window is resized, through $(window).resize function. And you'll have to call details of the products shown either using Ajax or with iframe by reloading the page within iframe with more products.
The code to be written inside browser's resize method will be as follows.
$(window).resize(function() {
//Your code on resizing the browser.
});
