i'm using the SQLite function from phonegap(1.2) on my app, and after quitting the application and restarting it, all data that i previously stored to the database is gone. how can i prevent loosing the data and where is the application stored on the device(Android, iPhone).

You should make sure the problem is that the database is dropped once you close your application. It seems to me that it is just that the data is not getting into the database with your insert. With that code you passed, I can only guess, but if I were you I would run a transaction to read the data from the database right after inserting it just to make sure it actually makes its way to the database.
The problem is that your not passing a value for the primary key.
Your table has an id as primary key, and because of that it can't be null. The only exception is when you declare the id as 'AUTOINCREMENT': in that case, if you don't pass a primary key value, the database will assign the next available value from a sequence table created for that purpose.

You have coded PRIMARYKEY instead of PRIMARY KEY and you should also code INTEGER PRIMARY KEY as the column type should appear first.
There is no need, from your explanation, to code AUTOINCREMENT.
Not using AUTOINCREMENT will be more efficient and will as far as you are concerned do the same thing. i.e. if the value for the department_id is not supplied, then SQLite will automatically generate a value which will be 1 for the first row that is inserted and then typically 1 greater for the next row and so on (SQLite does not guarantee montonically increasing numbers).

The AUTOINCREMENT keyword imposes extra CPU, memory, disk space, and disk I/O overhead and should be avoided if not strictly needed. It is usually not needed.
I'd sugggest just using :-

I'm new to sqlite and sql in gerneral so I don't know if my approach is reasonable.
I want to model inventory items that can be created, lent, returned and discarded.
I want to model this using two tables, one for items, containing an id, a name and a reference to the last transaction (created, lent, returned, ...) and a table of transactions containing an id transaction type, date, and a reference to the item.
Since creating only one table leaves the database in an inconsitent state with one table referencing a non existant table I thought of using a transaction to crate both tables at once, and defining the foreign keys as deferrable. Creation of a new item would have to be done together in one transaction with creating a "created" event to leave the database in a consistent state.
The following code gives me the error Query Error: not an error Unable to execute multiple statements at a time in sqliteman on linux.

I'm not sure that I'm getting an id primary key in my sqlite table.
When I create my table I use
CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS HABITS (id unique, uid, text, orglvl, habitstatus)
The other properties are fine, and I can retrieve results.rows.item(i).text, but results.rows.item(i).id is NULL
Also upon Insert, when I try to get results.insertId, I get an error of "undefined", which started this whole wondering for me.
What am I doing wrong - how come I have no id's when I have created them in my table?
To get an autoincrementing column, you must use INTEGER PRIMARY KEY.
I need to parameterize a view, and I am doing so by creating a TEMP TABLE which has the parameters for the view.
CREATE TEMP TABLE parms (parm1 INTEGER, parm2 INTEGER);
CREATE VIEW tableview AS ...
The VIEW is rather complex, but it basically uses these two parameters to kick start a recursive CTE, and there isn't any other way that I have found to express the view without these parameters.
The parameters must be stored in a temporary table because each connection should be able to have its own view with different parameters.
In any case, this works fine for creating the view itself, so long as I create the same TEMP TABLE at the start of any queries that use the view, e.g.:
CREATE TEMP TABLE parms (parm1 INTEGER, parm2 INTEGER);
INSERT INTO parms (parm1,parm2) VALUES (5,66);
SELECT * FROM tableview;
I am able to do the same thing to create a trigger to allow inserts on the view:
CREATE TEMP TABLE parms (parm1 INTEGER, parm2 INTEGER);
CREATE TRIGGER tableinsert INSTEAD OF INSERT ON tableview ...
However, when I try to do an actual INSERT (re-creating the TEMP TABLE first as before) I get an error:
no such table: main.parms
If I create a non-temporary table, I do not get this error, but then I have the problem that different connections can't have their own separate views.
I have review the documentation for triggers, and it mentions caveats of using temporary triggers on a non-temporary table, but I don't see anything regarding the reverse.
I did find a reference elsewhere that indicated that "the table... must exist in the same database as the table or view to which the trigger is attached". I thought a temporary table was part of the current database, is this not true? Is there some way to make this true?
I also tried accessing the parms table as temp.parms in the TRIGGER, but got the error:
qualified table names are not allowed on INSERT, UPDATE, and DELETE
statements within triggers
If I can't use a temporary table, is there some way to work around it to accomplish the same thing?
Update: Ok, so it seems to be an SQLite limitation. After digging around a bit in the SQLite source code, it seems to be pretty trivial to allow SELECT access to a temporary table in a trigger. However, allowing UPDATE access appears to be a lot harder.
Temporary objects are created in a separate database named temp, so they are not accessible from triggers in other databases.
The remaining mechanism to get a connection-specific value into a trigger is to use a user-defined function.
I have a bunch of SQLite db files, and I need to merge them into one big db files.
How can I do that?

The problem is the db has PRIMARY KEY field, and I got this message - "Error: PRIMARY KEY must be unique".
This is the test table for the db.

Mapping the primary key to "NULL" should yield the wanted result (no good if you use it as foreign key somewhere else, since the key probably exists, but has different contents)

I'm not 100% sure, but it seems that I should read all the elements and insert the element (except the PRIMARY KEY) one by one into the new data base.
