I’ve searched high and low for this via Google and the Solr wiki page, and cannot find the answer.
My problem:
I’m having trouble getting the elevate.xml working. I believe the problem is that I don’t know what the “doc id” is supposed to be within the elevate.xml. For example, if I search for “ice cream” I want it to return www.mydomain.com/page/2 as the first result.
<query text="ice cream">
<doc id="What Goes In Here??" />
</query>
What I’ve tried:
I tried entering in that exact URL(example: www.mydomain.com/page/2), I’ve also searched for the page on http://localhost:8983/solr/admin/, which brings up the an XML response. I’ve taken the value from the “ID” child element (which is “9c3ec5/node/3564”) from this and tried it.
Neither of these seem to work. I’ve also restarted the service after each change (this is running on a Windows 2008R2 Server as a service)
Environment Info:
Apache Solr 1.4.1 is running on Windows Server 2008 R2 (64bit). I’m searching using the Drupal Content Management System (version 6.22). Search is working great, except for this.
Any Ideas?
Does anyone have any ideas? Do I need to reindex the content?
The "doc id" is the value of the unique key of the document you want to elevate.
I found the answer to this question and documented it at http://drupal.org/node/1338914

I created a snapshot view using Rational ClearCase explorer.
After creating it, I set the config specs, environmental variables and later tried compiling my code and got an MVFS error which says:
Unable to determine if the current working directory is in MVFS - no such device or address
When I searched the IBM website for the sake of eliminating this error, I found out that a snapshot view does not use the MVFS !
Why am I getting this error when Snapshot view does not use MVFS?
When this issue got triggered: Actually in our project we were using a ClearCase (8.0.0.7 version). We never had problems when we tried to build our code on the 8.0.0.7 version. It was only after upgrading this version to 8.0.0.15 that the build issue has arisen. The legacy of both old and new ClearCases are baseClearcase
Some more specifications regarding the issue:
The server which we are using is a Windows 2003 server. I am creating a snapshot view in H drive (NTFS drive) as C drive is not available for use in our project, cleaning the previously built files by running the shell script clean_view.sh and then compiling our C code with the ClearCase command clearmake.exe all. Previously we used to follow the same procedure where build used to succeed, but now the same has become an issue.
This question is an extension to the question which I have asked previously. I am re-posting this question as a whole thing again in order to give more clarity about the issue and also for more number of ClearCase experts to chime-in. Kindly do not treat this as a duplicate one or force close it as my issue has not yet been resolved. Also please note that this is the first time I am working with ClearCase.
LINK FOR THE PREVIOUS QUESTION: MVFS error in a snapshot view
Recently there was a development in the solution of this issue !! We escalated this issue to IBM with the help of our client. They suggested us to use Dynamic views and we used them. To our surprise it was working fine and we are able to generate the executables. But the fact still remains that we are not able to use snapshot views !!
NOTE: This comment is just to share my knowledge and experience regarding this issue. :)
While a snapshot view isn't in the MVFS, clearmake has MVFS-specific functionality for build auditing.
You mentioned that the "H" drive contained the snapshot view, is H:
A local or network drive?
A drive letter created via SUBST? In this case, is the parent drive local?
Do builds in dynamic views still work?
Does the C drive exist? Is it remapped in a Terminal Server/Citrix environment?
A caveat: Windows Server 2003 is nearly a year past MICROSOFT'S end of extended support. I would recommend updating the server environment as soon as possible.
Truthfully, issues where a process fails, and the ONLY change is the ClearCase version are usually best handled by contacting IBM instead of using this venue. Not trying to shill or anything, but if it's a clearmake bug, it has to go there anyway...
Additional questions:
If the C: drive is inaccessible on the system, which is what "can't even get the properties" in the comment seems to infer, where is the OS installed? Where does %SYSTEMROOT% point?
If it worked on a different drive, what's different between those 2 drives (H: Failed and R: worked)
I have been given an ad hoc reporting tool from another individual that has successfully deployed it to the field. He uses Web Logic servers and an Oracle database.
I tried to deploy the same application in my local environment (WAS 7 and Oracle). The first report runs flawlessly. However, when I run the second (or third or fourth) report, I get a very strange error: the second report is appended to the first report.
There is nothing in the code to account for this. This problem can be temporarily solved by stopping and starting the servers every time a report is run (obviously not a real solution). I think this has something to do with data sources and cached information. I then took a step back and tried to deploy it to a Tomcat server. It works perfectly, just like it does in the field. So my question is: are there any known issues between WAS 7 and Oracle 11g that could be causing this kind of problem? Any information would be very helpful.
Please ask about any specifics you may want to know and I will do my best to provide that information.
Thank you for your time.
EDIT: For anyone else looking into this, the problem was due to an incompatibility with the proprietary Oracle calls and Websphere. Once the application was edited to use only JDBC calls, everything works perfectly. Thanks.
This ended up being a incompatibility with using proprietary Oracle calls and Websphere. It was fixed by changing all of proprietary call to normal JDBC calls.
This will be a very basic question!
I'm wondering a bit about how RSS 2.0 works. I've made a quick document (with help from Wc3 of course), given it the .xml extension - but when I try to open it with Firefox it only gives me the document tree, because it apparently lacks style information. All I want to do is to learn about RSS 2.0 through trial and error, but I can't do that if I can't see the results of what I've written.
The document is copy-pasted from Wc3's tutorial; so the code shouldn't be significant.
Any ideas how I could go about this?
Thanks!
You can try deploying it on local server. Setting up apache on windows/linux or wamp on windows should suffice. If you are using win, you can install iis express to try it.
We recently migrated from VS 2008 to VS 2010. The migration went fine, except for our web project. Before, in VS 2008, the site showed up as http://localhost/Website. Now, it appears as C:...\Website. It appears that when we did the migration, VS started to treat it as a file system website.
I've tried removing the existing site and re-adding it as an existing website, but it still displays it as C:...\Website. Is there any way to convert it back to show it as a http://localhost/website, and run through IIS, as opposed to the default ASP.NET Development Server?
Special thanks to John Dundon at Microsoft for helping me resolve the issue. Here's what he said:
Thanks for all the details. This actually sounds like a quirky behavior
in VS that I think I can help you work
around.
I believe the reason it’s remembering
to use the local development server is
because it got stored in the SUO file.
So there are two possible ways to fix
this:
Re-open your solution from source control as an administrator on the
machine with IIS installed and
everything should get downloaded to
its right place
If you close VS, delete the SUO file (note – this will erase some
settings about the state of your
solution but shouldn’t cause any real
data loss), and then re-open the
solution, it should ask you to
re-download that particular web site
and will try to make it an IIS web
site again.
Note however though that since your
virtual directory already exists on
your machine, it’s going to ask you if
you want to use it – I’m assuming you
do, but it will overwrite any files
when it does.
Let me know if this works for you (and
while you technically shouldn’t need
to, it may be a good idea to back up
any work you’ve done in this
enlistment that hasn’t been checked in
prior to trying this).
I followed his advice and removed my SUO file and re-opened the solution. The website was automatically fixed as http://localhost/Website and it also checked out the .SLN file as well, and when I checked it in, it fixed the issue for other developers as well. Hope this solution helps out others as well with this quirky issue.
Look in the project properties, on the Web tab. You'll be able to select whether to use IIS or the development server, and which virtual directory to use.
I've promised to take a look at an old DotNetNuke installation for a client with the intention of making a few, hopefully minor, changes. The installation is rather old - I believe version 3.0.013 - and the production copy is running against SQL Server 2000, Windows 2003 and .Net 1.1.
As the production server is live and significantly used we need a development installation first. I have attempted to install a copy on my local server - Windows 2003, SQL Server 2005, .Net 2.0, and although with a few tweaks I can successfully get it to display the site, I cannot login, or even access the login module (ie just putting in blank username and password attempting to generate a 'must enter username' type error) without getting the error 'Object reference not set to an instance of an object'
I've spent some time trying to get around this error, without success, although I am hampered by not having used this package before.
So my questions are
Has anyone managed to run DotNetNuke 3.0.x with this configuration (or do I need to setup a box with SQL 2000 and .Net 1.0 to get it to run)?
Any suggestions where I should start looking for this error, or has anyone come across anything similar before?
EDIT: Eventually chickened out and installed in on an old webserver with Win2003/SQL 2000/Net 1.1 and it went in fine on an identical install. So I guess the answer is no, it doesn't work straight out of the box.
My feeling is that you shouldn't have any trouble running in the above mentioned environment. But taking a closer look at the error itself will help us to prove that.
If the error is occurring only when you navigate to the Login module, it may be an issue loading the authentication provider. The best way to find out is to look in the DNN Event Log and take a look at the full error message.
Because you can't login to access the Event Log, you should probably just take a look at the row created in the database when you receive the error. The table is called EventLog and there may be a little bit of friction in parsing the error message out, as all of the details are stored in the database in an XML format.
In general, when moving a site from one environment to another there are only a couple of things that you'd need to do:
make sure you can connect to the database
set the file system permissions
It sounds like you already have database connectivity because you can load the site.
However, you may want to double check (just re-apply) the file system permissions for the root of the website on the machine in question. Make sure the identity of the website (typically ASP.NET Machine Account or Network Service) has 'Modify' permissions on the root website directory. Perhaps the web site can't load a particular assembly due to lack of permissions.
