I have a local and an azure ASP.NET Membership database. I need to be sync them both. Wondering if anyone has found a easy way to do this? The table structure seems simple enough but would rather pull from azure than push. Is there a routine or tool I do not know about to do this by now?

This would be a suitable job for the Microsoft Sync Framework.
You create a service or scheduled task that makes the necessary calls. Have this running on your server and you can pull from the Azure database and sync with the local one. It can be set up to sync one way or two ways.

1. Is SQL server installation needed to run Windows Work Flow?
2. If yes, where does work flow stores (persists) data for a long running process
3. I see that some files are created in .\windows\Microsft.NET\Framework\v4.0\SQL\en\ (some sql scripts to create persistense points)
4. Do we need to run these scripts to manually create database?
5. Can we persist data on file system instead? so that we don't need to install SQL Server?

I see one supposed answer already, but "read the docs" answers really aren't good answers, especially in an area so poorly documented as WF, so in case anyone else stumbles across this thread:
(1) SQL Server doesn't have to be installed just to use workflows, but if you want persistence for long running workflows, (2) SQL Server is your easiest way to get it.
(3) and (4) You can let AppFabric do most of the heavy lifting in setting up the persistence database for you.
(5) you could persist on a file system instead of SQL Server but IMHO, from what I've seen in my short time with WF and persistence so far, you'd be crazy to try to implement your own persistence provider like that, especially when just starting out. You can use SQL Server Express to get started. Why reinvent the wheel?
I'd like to know the best architecture.
We have a web application running different domains. Each domain has its own MySQL database but the db structure is the same for all of them.
We have a web application for the visible part of the application.
We have a dataLogic project
We have a dataEntities project
We have a dataAccess that contains only the methods to connect to the data base.
Before we called stored procedures on a database. But we had to change it because the performance was bad. Also, the problem was that every change we made we had in a stored procedure we had to copy to every database.
We are thinking in using a WebService to retrieve the data. Every domain can call the web service with a connection string and connect its database to retrieve data. This way when we change a SQL query we only have to compile the webService and change it, we don't have to change versions on multiples domains.
Also, what do you think about the SQL queries? Since we don't want to keep using stored procedures, what is the best way to do it? Directly from code?

If you have multiple Database servers you will have to make Structural changes from one DB to another one way or another. There are many tools to change Database structures. These tools will look for differences between Schema, and will either generate the SQL code for you, or do the changes by itself (it depends a lot in the tool, there are powerful ones and not so powerful ones). Please do take a look at Toad for MySql. Now, for the Data changes, you may want to replicate the data from one Database to another. This is done through Replication.

This sounds like a good idea and since you already have "dataAccess" and "dataLogic" projects, it should not be too hard to make the services.

I don't think it is a good practice to have the SQL queries directly into your code, but it depends in a lot of things, so I would suggest Stored Procedure vs Hard-Coding the queries, or LinQ (Entity Framework 4.1).

I am trying to re-deploy my ASP.NET MVC3 application across several different environments and would like to try using SQL Azure. I'd like to use my existing LINQ structure and CreateDatabase to create these databases.
I am wondering how I can use CreateDatabase with SQL Azure since the USE statement doesn't work on the platform.
Please answer with any suggestions or if there might be a better way to do this.

You'll have to find a way to fit in this premise. Maybe it's not possible.

I've deployed nHibernate apps to SQL Azure - these apps call CREATE DATABASE somewhere inside the nHibernate layer and they work OK.
Best advice I can give is to try it - then come back with any specific errors you see. There may be some changes to make, but I think these should be small.
Ok, so here's the thing.
I'm developing an existing (it started being an ASP classic app, so you can imagine :P) web application under ASP.NET 4.0 and SQLServer 2005. We are 4 developers using local instances of SQL Server 2005 Express, having the source-code and the Visual Studio database project
This webapp has several "universes" (that's how we call it). Every universe has its own database (currently on the same server) but they all share the same schema (tables, sprocs, etc) and the same source/site code.
So manually deploying is really annoying, because I have to deploy the source code and then run the sql scripts manually on each database. I know that manual deploying can cause problems, so I'm looking for a way of automating it.
We've recently created a Visual Studio Database Project to manage the schema and generate the diff-schema scripts with different targets.
I don't have idea how to put the pieces together
I would like to:
Have a way to make a "sync" deploy to a target server (thanksfully I have full RDC access to the servers so I can install things if required). With "sync" deploy I mean that I don't want to fully deploy the whole application, because it has lots of files and I just want to deploy those new or changed.
Generate diff-sql update scripts for every database target and combine it to just 1 script. For this I should have some list of the databases names somewhere.
Copy the site files and executing the generated sql script in an easy and automated way.
I've read about MSBuild, MS WebDeploy, NAnt, etc. But I don't really know where to start and I really want to get rid of this manual deploy.
If there is a better and easier way of doing it than what I enumerated, I'll be pleased to read your option.
I know this is not a very specific question but I've googled a lot about it and it seems I cannot figure out how to do it. I've never used any automation tool to deploy.

Have you heard of the term Multi-Tenancy? It might be worth look that up to see if that applied to your "Multiverse" especially if one universe is never accessed by another...

If the application and database is the same for each client (or Tenant) I believe there are applications that may help in providing the same code/db as an SaaS application? ie another application/configuration layer on top that can handle the deployments etc?

Multi-Tenancy in your case may be possible, depending on client security requirements, with a bit of work (or a lot of work):
Option 1:
You could use the one instance of the application, ie deploy the site once and connect to a different database for each client. You would need to differentiate each client by URL to isolate content/data byt setting a connection string for each etc. (This would reduce your site deployments to one deployment)
Option 2:
You could create both a single instance of the application and use a single database. You would need to add a "TenantID" to each table and adjust all your code to accept a TenantID to ensure data security/isolation. Again you wold need to detect/differentiate the Tenant based on the URL to set the TenantID for the session used for every database call. (This would reduce your site and database deployment to one of each)
I have a situation where information about a user is stored in the web application cache and when that information is updated in one application - I want to notify the other applications (running on the same machine) that the data should be removed from it's cache so it can be refreshed. Basically I need to keep cached data in sync across multiple asp.net applications.
I have started down the path of using a central web service to help coordinate the notifcations but it is turning out to be more complex than I think it needs to be.
Is there a way that one asp.net application can easily reach across to another on the same box to clear an item from the cache?
Is there a better way to achieve shared cached information than using the application cache?
I really want to create a way for apps to communicate in a loosely coupled way - I looked at nservice bus but the dependency on MSMQ scared me away - my client has had bad experiences with MSMQ and does not want to support an app that requires it.
Suggestions?

I agree with Hogan. Best is to use a shared database. I want to add to that that, when using SQL Server, you can use SQL Cache Dependency. This SQL Server mechanism allows notifications to applications in such a way that used caches can be invalided directly after a change is made to the data.
A shared database is probably going to cause you the least pain.

Note: ASP.NET allows you to make "cache clearing" triggers on SQL server changes. Should be a quick search in the cache examples on MSDN to find some examples. Thus when the user info stored in the cache changes in the DB the local cache copy will clear and be re-loaded from the DB.
There are commercial distributed caches available for .net other than Microsoft Velocity - NCache, Coherence, etc.
How about Velocity? It's a distributed cache that works between servers as well as between applications. It has PowerShell management and all sorts of documentation to get you going faster and be far more maintainable in the long-term.
What about COM/DCOM, using namespace System.Runtime.Remoting
