VS 2010 does not open CSS files [duplicate] - css

I am unable to open CSS files in Visual Studio 2010 after adding to a project.
It shows the following error:
The operation could not be completed.Unspecified error.
Even if I try to edit embedded CSS in a webpage directly, IntelliSense doesn't appear.

I found the solution from here:
I was having the same issue and found that by going to the Tools -> Extension Manager -> Online Gallery and search for/install the "Web Standards Update for Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 sp1" I was able to open CSS files again.
And it worked for me.

Probably it can happen after installing the Visual Studio LightSwitch beta
OR
Windows Azure tools installed
OR
SQL Server 2012 installed
Download this and install it if already installed then repair it and it'll fix the issue:

This happened to me after installing Adobe Cloud production suite. Web Standards Update did the trick.

There is dropdown box in the toolbar saying "XHTML 1.0 transition". Change it to HTML.

App.Mobile Project appears as (incompatible)

Microsoft Visual Studio Professional 2022 Version 17.0.4
Starting from scratch a "Multi-Platform App (Uno Platform|net6)" project, closing the solution and reopening it, the "mobile" project is listed as "incompatible".
It happened to me on two different computers.
I run the "uno-check" and after installing the missing parts it tells me that everything is ok, but when I load the solution the mobile project continues with the same error.
Any idea?
The .NET 6 mobile project template is only supported on Visual Studio 17.1 Preview 1 and later.
I leave the link where he explains that the problem is in the manifest of the packages.

please help me !!
Thanks,

You may resolve this issue by re-installing/Update the setup.
Restart the setup for VirtualStudio2015. Preview and select the required components to install.
After this you may see everything you want. You know, it's always better to select the features under 'Optional features to install' if you want to get what you want.

Error while Publishing Web App in Visual Studio Professional 2013

I am trying to publish my Web App in Visual Studio Professional 2013 but getting the following error
I got the same question asked over here but no useful answer.
Can anyone please help
You probably will be using older version, that was having an issue. refer detail [here]
Install the newer web deployment tool, should work.
which .net version are you using.
check web deploy version. if vs has 2 web deploy version, the vs get confuse to take which version. If it has 2 version, just uninstall vs and then instal it along with web deploy. if the Vs has one 1 web deploy version, you uninstall and install the web deploy. It will rectify your problem i hope.
You can refer This link
Check if version 9.0.0.0 of the assembly is installed in GAC. (from the VS2013 developer command prompt) gacutil /l Microsoft.Web.Deployment. Issues like this have occurred in the past where things worked, then after installing an update (or trying to install one) then reports of missing dlls, like nuget, occur.
The usual course of action is to repair the Visual Studio installation.
There is a problem with your publish profile. Delete the pubxml file located bellow Properties folder in your project and then create a new publish profile.
I got the same problem when older project runs into the new .NET Framework, for that you have to do the following.
Right Click on your project name->select Property Pages -> Click Build from the menu-> then select Target Framework .Net framework 4.5 or your current using framework..
"Could not load file or assembly" means the required file (of that mentioned version) is not available in the assembly (nor in the registry). All you gotta to do is to ensure this same is installed properly that would allow you to proceed further. The other things to ensure is the latest framework installed on your system.
Think you have some errors happen when to install or update Visual 2013, so you can reinstall again and this error will be fixed.

Can't find the Publish Website Option in Visual Studio 2012 Express Web

I created an Empty Website (not a project) using File > New Website > Aps.net Empty Web Site. Usually when I click on Build, there is an option to "Publish Web Site". However, I don't see it here. All I can see is build and rebuild solution. What am I doing wrong? Even when I right click on the website, it just gives me an option to Build, but not Publish. I previously was using VS 2010, and it has the Publish option.
Publishing is only support for web application projects, not web site projects.

I don't know if this is true in all cases, but I just uninstalled VS 2012 Web Express, deleted the contents in the Microsoft Visual Studio 11 folder, and then installed the Professional version instead. Maybe the Express version doesn't have this, but after installing the Professional version, I do have the "Publish Web Site" option.
I believe this problem can be solved by downloading and installing the relevant Web Publish Update from this web page:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/jj161045
I had the same problem in Visual Web Developer 2010 Express. When I installed the update, the option to "Publish Web Site" became available to me.
EDIT: You may find that when you click "Publish Web Site", you get an error like this:
the imported project "C:\ProgramFiles\MSBuild\Microsoft\VisualStudio\v11.0\WebSites\microsoft.website.publishing.
targets" was not found. Confirm that the path in the declaration is correct, and that the file exists on disk.
I solved this problem by going into "website.publishproj" (found in the Solution Explorer with my website open), and "hardwiring" the WebPublishTargetsVersion element like this:
<WebPublishTargetsVersion>10.5</WebPublishTargetsVersion>
For some reason, the existing code was returning 11.0, instead of 10.5.
Hardwiring it like this might cause problems later if you update your version. So do it with caution.

subversion ankhsvn files disapear from solution explorer

Im using Visual studio 2008. Every once in a while files that exist in the root of couple of my class libraries disapear from the solution explorer on visual studio.
Files exist on subversion. I could not understand the reason of this and it just happened again..
Any one has experienced this problem also?
This issue is also reported by TFS users (See google), so it is most likely a Visual Studio bug. It would be nice if somebody found out a way to reproduce this issue. That would finally enable Microsoft to fix this issue.
