I want to download all *.txt files from a WebDAV share.
Is there a request/methode to get a list of files from this folder?
I´m new to WebDAV and at the w3.org WebDAV methode definition I don´t found this information.

The link you pointed at is not the WebDAV specfication, but the HTTP specification. If you want to list the contents of a directory (collection) you must use the PROPFIND method instead, which should return an XML document with all the information.

I loaded files to one of my projects web following their documentation. Now I need to get the URL for those files so I can access them from my application. Sadly, I'm unable to find the URL format for this. Any idea?

Note that the path SFTP documentation mentions, like /home/groups/f/fo/foo_project/ is actually a link to /home/project-web/foo_project/.
Here's what I would like to accomplish:
I have a file stored in Windows Azure Blob Storage (or for that matter any file which is not on my web server but accessible via a URL).
I want to force download a file without actually downloading the file on my web server first i.e. browser should automatically fetch the file from this external URL and prompts the user to download it.
Possible Solutions Explored:
Here's what I have explored so far (and why they won't work):
Using something like FileContentResult as described here Returning a file to View/Download in ASP.NET MVC to download the file. This solution would require me to fetch the contents on my server and then stream from my server to the browser. For this reason this solution won't work.
Using HTML 5 download attribute: HTML 5 download attribute would have worked perfectly fine however the problem is that while it is really a very neat solution, it is not supported in all browsers.
Changing the file's content type: Another thing I could do (at least for the files that I own) to change the content type property of the file to something that the browser wouldn't understand and thus would be forced to download the file. This might work in some browsers however not in all as IE is smart enough to go beyond the content type and sees the file's content to determine the content type. Furthermore if I don't own the files, then I won't have access to changing the content type of the file.
Simply put, in my controller action I should be able to specify the URL of the file and somehow browser should force download the file.
Is this something which can be accomplished? If yes, then any ideas how I could accomplish this?

You can't. If the final URL is to remain hidden, your server must serve the data, so your server must download the file from the URL.
Your client can't download a file it can't get the URL to.
You can create file transfer WCF service (REST) which will stream your content from blob storage or from other sources through your file managers to client browser directly by URL.

Blob path won't be exposed, web application will be free from file transfer issues.
I'm facing a problem, and don't know if anybody has solved this issue.
I'm using Tridion webdav (Tridion 2011 SP1 HR1) to insert structured content (folders + binary files) into a publication.
All goes well when the folder doesn't exist, but if the folder exist, then an error appear:
You do not have permission to access this Web Folder location
Watching the log files, the problem is that Tridion tries to create a new folder when I drag & drop an existing folder, and rename to the folder title, giving an error:
Name must be unique for items of type: Folder/Virtual Folder within this Folder and its BluePrint context.
I tried using Events to avoid saving the folder when it exists (throwing an exception in the initiated phase), but the permission error appears when updating the content inside the folder.
Has anyone tried to do something alike?
Has anyone any sugestion I can try?

This has nothing to do with Tridion as you are using Windows Explorer to access WebDAV, so if anything it's the Explorer who is to blame for sending wrong requests, but if you will take a look at WebDAV sprcification here: http://www.webdav.org/specs/rfc4918.html, you can see all the possible calls under chapter 9.
Tridion Folders are treated as collections, so there's a MKCOL call to create a folder, but if you will check 9.7.2 PUT for Collections, you will see:
9.7.2 PUT for Collections
This specification does not define the behavior of the PUT method for existing collections. A PUT > request to an existing collection MAY be treated as an error (405 Method Not Allowed).
The MKCOL method is defined to create collections.
So there's no way to update existing folders, it's create and upload contents, indeed.

I am not clear about the concept of breaking the file into multiple part and then download each part separately. According to me, What we have only the path of that file where it exist on the internet so how to break this file just by knowing the URL or path?
There is a special provision in HTTP 1.1 for this: the Range header, which allows you to fetch a selected portion of the resource. This is exactly what these download managers use.
You can review some code example in Java of partial file download: Resume download in urlconnection. In rfc2616 specified header 'Range' allows to request specified part of file.
So Download Manager simply start partial file downloading in several connection in parallel.
I am running a classic ASP website where my online users can attach files to the internal message system. But whenever they upload an attachment with more then 3 characters in the file extension, the server gives me a 404.
Files like mypicture.jpg works fine, but files like mydocument.docx doesn't work?
Any suggestions?
IIS6 will only serve documents where the file extension is mapped to a mime type in the mime map property for the server or the site. In order to serve the more recent Office 2007 document types you will need to add extra mappings.
There are a number of places where you can find a list of these new mime types.

Adding all mime-types to IIS in one step is very simple:
The easiest way to do this is stopping IIS and editing the metabase
XML file (C:\WINDOWS\system32\inetsrv\MetaBase.xml) using a text
editor. Search for the <IIsMimeMap Location="/LM/MimeMap" /> element
and append the lines above to the MimeMap attribute
The server probably has no mime-type defined for docx and such file extensions.
