I get this error. And it only begun about a week.
Fatal error: Uncaught CurlException: 28: connect() timed out! thrown in .
Facebook forum moderators tell me its a hosting providers error.
And hosting providers tell me its a Facebook side error.
I've tried increasing the CURLOPT_CONNECTTIMEOUT => 10 to 20,60, ...
I'm using the 2.0 version of the SDK.
Facebook uses a Round-Robin DNS and sometimes bad addresses get cached by the client. We have our hosting provider clear the DNS cache, that should fix the problem.

I am trying do deploy my website, and i'm using a third party transport to dispatch my emails like : confirmation after subscription and reset password emails.
I am using SendinBlue. I followed Symfony documentation and run composer require symfony/sendinblue-mailer
Then i added MAILER_DSN=sendinblue+smtp://USERNAME:PASSWORD#default in my .env file. Username and password seems correct, i also encoded special characters in my username.
My website is hosted on OVH, i can connect by SSH and run php bin/console messenger:consume async
I have an error message saying : WARNING [messenger] Error thrown while handling message Symfony\Component\Mailer\Messenger\SendEmailMessage. Sending for retry #1 using 1000 ms delay. Error: "Handling "Symfony\Component\Mailer\Messenger\SendEmailMessage" failed: Connection could not be established with host "ssl://smtp-relay.sendinblue.com:587": stream_socket_client(): unable to connect to ssl://smtp-relay.sendinblue.com:587 (Connection refused)"
I also tried to use the SendinBlue API key and got this message : WARNING [messenger] Error thrown while handling message Symfony\Component\Mailer\Messenger\SendEmailMessage. Sending for retry #1 using 1000 ms delay. Error: "Handling "Symfony\Component\Mailer\Messenger\SendEmailMessage" failed: Could not reach the remote Sendinblue server."
I guess i missed something, it's the first time i build a symfony application and im a little lost. I spent all day on this and could not find a solution.
Does anyone have an idea what i did wrong ?
I came along with so many questions and answers but could not understand or find solution as my case is bit different.
I am using Azure with openIdconnect for Active directory authentication (ASP.Net framework 4.6.1)
it has been years it was working fine but a day before yesterday this error occurred for only about 1 hour. error was occurring when trying to do AD authentication.
"
Exception Message: IDX20803: Unable to obtain configuration from: '[PII is hidden]'.
Inner Exception: System.IO.IOException: IDX20804: Unable to retrieve document from: '[PII is hidden]'. ---> System.Net.Http.HttpRequestException: Response status code does not indicate success: 400 (Bad Request).
StackTrace: System.InvalidOperationException: IDX20803: Unable to obtain configuration from: '[PII is hidden]'. ---> System.IO.IOException: IDX20804: Unable to retrieve document from: '[PII is hidden]'. ---> System.Net.Http.HttpRequestException: Response status code does not indicate success: 400 (Bad Request)."
during this local authentication and remaining whole application was working fine. After 1 hour this issue was automatically resolved.
same happened yesterday. issue occurred for 1 hour and resolved automatically.
Other solution are suggesting to modify IdentityModelEventSource.ShowPII = true;
But I dont think so it requires code modification.
Please guide what can be reason that this happens for only short time.
Note: this is happening on only one server all applications on other servers are working fine
Please check if below are causes.
The error usually appears when application's configuration is not
able to retrieve the OIDC metadata properly. Please make sure
Instance,Domain,TenantId,ClientId are correct.
And Please make sure to use the latest version (or to 4.7.2) of your
dot-net framework as few tasks may get to require updated / latest
version of “.NET” framework in order for them to work properly.
This error might occur if the application is running on TLS 1.1 or TLS 1.0,as they are depreciated. Use the protocol - TLS 1.2 for application.
In some cases packages maybe defaulting to TLS 1.1 even after that when loading that metadata and may take time to check for the correct one.
To resolve, try to add the following in Global.asax.cs which will allow the openid-configuration to be obtained as it is pointed to tls1.2 or above. Make sure to change the tls to 1.2 in portal also.
protected void Application_Start()
{
ServicePointManager.SecurityProtocol = SecurityProtocolType.Tls12 | SecurityProtocolType.Ssl3; // allow TLSV1.2 and SSL3 only
//other code
}

I'm meeting an issue on Meteor with Accounts.forgotPassword method.
My email smtp is well set up as I can use Email.send() without any issue once app is deployed.
But strangely, accounts.forgotPassword return an internal error.
When looking at the logs I have this error :
Exception while invoking method 'forgotPassword' Error: Mail command failed: 550-Requested action not taken: mailbox unavailable
I do not really understand why I would have mailbox unavailable error with Accounts.forgotPassword but not with Email.send()
Does anyone already met that kind of issues ?
I have already searched on the web for any clues but did not find anything :(
FYI I use ionos smtp
Since Email.send is working, I assume your MAIL_URL is set correctly, but your Accounts.emailTemplates is not. From https://docs.meteor.com/api/passwords.html:
In addition to configuring the email package’s MAIL_URL, it is critical that you set proper values (specifically the from address) in Accounts.emailTemplates to ensure proper delivery of e-mails!
I have been trying to create a web api 2 that is secure with individual account.
So I can easily create WebApi2 with individual account, see link below
http://www.asp.net/vnext/overview/authentication/individual-accounts-in-aspnet-web-api
And Self hosting is easy to do.
http://www.asp.net/web-api/overview/hosting-aspnet-web-api/use-owin-to-self-host-web-api
But I cannot figure out how to combine the solutions.
Far as I got was adding a console app to a webapi2. Which seems to run. But whenever I try and get the access token it returns
An unhandled exception of type 'System.Net.WebException' occurred in System.dll
Additional information: The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error.
If anyone knows of a solution that would be great. Thanks
This post is way old, but to anyone else who is having this issue and finds this question, I was able to get past the 500 Error by adding app.UseWebApi(config); after setting up config, as mentioned in this post:
http://odetocode.com/blogs/scott/archive/2013/07/24/self-hosting-webapi-with-katana.aspx
HOWEVER, I'm now getting a 401, unauthorized request for all of my requests, even though I have a valid token and I'm sending it the same way I did that worked in the non-self-hosted WebApi2 app. but I'm one step closer anyways.
I am using reCaptch in my MVC 3 web app running in the localhost.
Things were working fine few weeks back but suddenly failing.
Suddenly getting this error.
if(!ReCaptcha.Validate(_config.RecaptchaPrivateKey)){ <-- times out here
//process other fields in the form
}
As soon as I fill the form and hot submit I get this error :
The operation has timed out
Description : An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current ...
Exception Details : System.Net.WebException: The operation has timed out
Is this a proxy issue?
Is this because my site on localhost runs on port 3316?
localhost:3316/user/signup
I saw some posts that suggests that reCAPTCHA expects port 80 but my app runs on port 3316
What can be the issue?
Thanks
I got around this by creating proxy class that inherits IWebProxy.
Then specifying to use this proxy when internal, I had to transform it out for other environments that didn't need to use it.
See this question and accepted answer:
Is it possible to specify proxy credentials in your web.config?
The above link took some finding, so I favourited it for future use.
