I have this application based on SWF2.0.
Its a questionaire(like GRE questionaire) where based on user's selection next question is decided.
Also i have next/previous and save & exit buttons on each page.
So i have flow definitions and tiles and JSP.I have one base JSP page -called template.jsp
which stores header(Question No 'num') and buttons (back/next/save & exist) as they appear on every page.
So each JSP page inherits template.jsp.
Now i want this Question No 'NUM' to be dynamically calculated with each nextt and prev click .
How do i accomplish that.
I cannt hard code and pass ques no from flow file.
Having session variable indicating number of question and increase/decrease its value on next/previous buttons (during validation) might help you.

I'm developing a recoursive bar chart with the capability to navigate through a tree hierarchy by getting parent and child data from stored procedures.
It works well but I need to define a different action for the last node that instead of go to report should be: go to URL.
ssrs Action
Is there any way to do that?
I finally solved by using go to url for both: go to report and go to url.
this is possible by specifying the Url of the report as go to url concatenating the parameters using the HTTG GET syntax.
As you cannot set the report action via an expression, the easiest way I can think of doing this is to have two copies of your control or whatever you need the the action on. Have one point to your report as normal and one that points to your URL. Then set the visibility of each control based on the node.
So, assuming it's the series property that you have the action on...normally the Goto report series would be visible but when you are at the last node, the goto URL series would be visible.
This should work but I've not tested it.
Alternatively, if you can determine if the next node will be the last one, you could have two copies of the report. The first would be your report as it is now and the seconds would be exactly the same but with as different action. You can set an expression to call the correct report in the goto report action properties based on the node level. As I said before though, you will need to know if the node you are looking at is the penultimate one.
Neither solution is that elegant but it should give you what you want,.
once again I have to ask you for a help.
I have a problem with creating public variable and using it in formula.
The details of this issue is:
1, right after starting a Lotus Notes Application i have to create public variable EmpNum which will be contain an employee number (the number will be imported from IBM Blue Pages)
2, this EmpNum variable will be used to filter the data in a view, so I have to use it in formula in View Selection.
I'll be very grateful if you help with this issue.
Maybe there is possible any simplest solution of this problem?
Thanks in advance,
Tomasz (td2003)
EDIT:
Torsten, Panu, thank you.
I've decided to try write an EmpNum variable in notes.ini using #SetEnvironment and read it by #GetEnvironment, and it works.
BUT (!) there is a very strange thing:
1) when I entered formula "SELECT((form="ITForm") & (Status="Completed") & (TX_EmployeeNumber=#Environment("EmpNum")))" the view shows me all document where "TX_EmployeeNumber" is EMPTY;
2) otherwise when I entered formula "SELECT((form="ITForm") & (Status="Completed") & (TX_EmployeeNumber!=#Environment("EmpNum")))" (not equal) the view shows me all document where "TX_EmployeeNumber" is NOT EMPTY and no matter if TX_EmployeeNumber have exactly the same value as EmpNum.
For example: if EmpNum="P11" the view with 2nd formula shows the documents where TX_EmployeeNumber fields contains "P11", "P22", "A32" and so on.
I'm sure that #Environment("EmpNum") retrieves correct data from notes.ini.
I'm totally confused and completely don't know what's going on.
Do you have any idea about this?
First of all: There are NO public variables in Lotus Notes as you request it. Neither in LotusScript nor in Formula. Every variable just lives in its context, never in the complete client.
There are two places to put such a variable:
in the notes.ini, where you can set / read it using Formula (#Environment, #SetEnvironment, #getEnvironent) or LotusScript (NotesSession.GetEnvironmentString, NotesSession.SetEnvironmentVar).
In a Profile document in a database, where you can get it using #GetProfileField (Formula) or NotesDatabase.GetprofileDocument() (LotusScript)
Both of these approches will NOT help you for your number 2.
There is only ONE View- Selection- Formula for ALL Users. Putting something "userspecific" in there will let it render correctly for ONE value (the one, that the server uses when building the view- index), but not for all the others.
To solve your problem you can use:
a) An embedded View
A view that is categorized by empNum
A Form that has this view embedded and a Formula for "Show single category" for this embedded view set
b) A SPOFU view
SPOFU is "Shared, private on first use" and means, that every user has his own copy of the view. These views have some caveats and are hard to maintain. You should NOT use them, if you are not totally aware of the implications (getting the ACL right is one very important thing for these views)...
EDIT (due to change in question): SPOFU will neither work with Environment nor with Profile- documents, as the methods to read them are not supported in Views... So b) is not really an option... Sorry...
It is possible to use the #SetViewInfo formula in the QueryOpen and/or PostOpen of a view to get the view to only present data from one category. Be careful with this because you will need to touch EVERY view so that the value is cleared if the user navigates to a view which is not categorized by the employee num...
FWIW: I only have done this using #UserName not with another piece of data. I suggest you do that by having the import process add the fully qualified Notes name of the user to the documents as they are imported.
You can modify view selection formula with NotesView class. In this case you would have to use private views.
A better solution would be to use an XPage to show the view and use category filter. Or if you want to use traditional style then embed the view to a form or page and use "Show Single Category" feature.
RunTime Error The Data has been changed.
I`m having a difficult time with one of my sub-forms. It used to work without complaints but I guess now it decided to be a little verbose. On this form I have a subform that has a variety of checkbox options. Whenever the user enters a checkbox option and then exits to the main form there is an On Exit Event which runs. It combines some textboxes from various forms and then puts that value in a textbox on the main form.
var1 = [Form1]![Textbox].Value
var2 = [Form2]![Textbox].Value
var3 = [Form3]![Textbox].Value
Me.[TextBox].Value = var1 & var2 & var3
For some reason upon exiting the subform I am getting the Runtime error.
The pattern is not apparent.
I can navigate from the subform to the main form without making any changes in either without receiving an error message.
If I go into the subform, make a change, exit the subform, the textbox will be updated with no complaint, however if I go back into the subform, do not make a change and then go back to the main form, then I get the runtime error
similarly after making sure that behavior 1 is true I can go into the subform, change something come back out, but if I try to go back into the subform and make an additional change I will get a complaint. (I was able to fix this by making an on enter event refresh the subform)
I am unable to get the Runtime Error fixed though... :(
I see that this is an issue for many people with no solution. Here was my work around.
From my observation the form that was having it's Textbox.value updated is somehow silently updated by either the on enter or on exit of it's subform so when the on exit action of updating that textbox occurs it complains that the main form was updated, thus leaving me to conclude that when that form is updated it is not shown to the user.
Thus, my work around is to requery the main form on the subform's exit in order to get that new data loaded and changed.
Caveat!! Requery will by default bring you back to the first record thus presenting the possibility of changing the textbox of the wrong record. Thus as part of the requerying process, if you choose this hack, you will have to bookmark the current open record, requery, and then fetch that record again. I used the code from this webpage in order to achieve the desired effect. Thus circumnavigating the 7878.
Requery and stay on record:

In a multi-step Drupal webform, is it possible to show a value entered in a previous-step page?
For example, the first step page captures a username field as "John", is it possible to show a greeting in next step page, showing Hello John, ... ?
p.s. for anonymous user.
I know this is old, but I needed the same thing so I hope this helps others in search.
I needed values from a previous Webform step for my custom Webform component. The _webform_redner_[component](...) hook doesn't provide the form or form_state, also the previous steps' data (more than previous step that was just submitted) isn't in the $_POST.
To solve this, I manually retrieve the form from Drupal's form caching system using the form_build_id which is in the $_POST variable.
/* ... */
$form_state = array();
// Get the form_state to pass on to our build function.
// Webforms doesn't provide it at this point so we'll need to manually get it using the form's build_id.
$form = form_get_cache($_POST['form_build_id'], $form_state);
/* ... */
You now have the entire form and form_state that also includes previous steps' values.
Have a look at multistep form example here: http://drupal.org/node/717750
The general idea is that in the submit function you save all posted values to $form_state['storage'], which you can later access on the next steps.
Edit:
Have a look at the example with both Prev and Next buttons I have just created: http://zgadzaj.com/basic-drupal-multipart-form-example-with-previous-and-next-buttons
I think this has to be THE most frustrating thing I've ever done in web forms. Yet one would think it would be the easiest of all things in the world to do. That is this:
I need 2 separate lists of radiobuttons on my .aspx page. One set allows a customer to select an option. The other set does also but for a different purpose. But only one set can have a selected radiobutton.
Ok I've tried this using 2 asp.net Radiobuttonlists controls on the same page. Got around the nasty bug with GroupName (asp.net assigns the control's uniqueID which prevents the groupname from ever working because now, 2 radiobuttonlists can't have the same groupname for all their radiobuttons because each radiobuttonlist has a different uniqueID thus the bug assigns the unique ID as the name attribute when the buttons are rendered. since the name sets are different, they are not mutually exclusive). Anyway, so I created that custom RadioButtonListcontrol and fixed that groupname problem.
But when ended up happening is when I went to put 2 instances of my new custom radiobuttonlist control on my .aspx page, all was swell until I noticed that every time I checked for radiobuttonlist1.SelectedValue or radiobuttonlist2.SelectedValue (did not matter which I was checking) the value always spit back string.empty and i was not able to figure out why (see http://forums.asp.net/t/1401117.aspx).
Ok onto the third try tonight and into the break of dawn (no sleep). I tried to instead just scrap trying to use 2 custom radiobuttonlists altogether because of that string.empty issue and try to spit out 2 sets of radiobuttonlists via using 2 asp.net repeaters and a standard input HTML tag inside. Got that working. Ok but the 2 lists still are not mutually exclusive. I can select a value in the first set of radiobuttons from repeater1 and same goes for repeater2. I cannot for the life of me get the "sets" to be mutually exclusive sets of radiobuttons.
As you have two groups of radio buttons that you want to function as one group of radio buttons, the solution is simple: Make it one group of radio buttons.
The only problem you have then is that the value that you get has the same name from both lists, but that can be solved by adding a prefix to the values so that you easily identify from which list the option comes.
Update: based on the new info posted as an answer. The option I proposed on my original answer corresponds to the 3. You really must consider the following:
Html radio buttons have only 1
built-in mechanism to handle the
exclusivity, which is the name.
You are explicitly requesting a no js solution, so given the above you must manipulate the Ids to achieve it. If you weren't blocking this option I am sure someone would come up with some nice jquery or js library that already supports it.
The option 3 is clearly the less invasive, as you are not forced to affect the actual data, and are not affected by future updates to it.
It's not that much code, just something extra on the List indexes, and some simple thing as:
int? list1Value = null;
int? list2Value = null;
var value = Request.Form["somegroup"];
if (value.StartsWith("List1"))
list1Value = int.Parse(value.Substring(5));
else
list2Value = int.Parse(value.Substring(5));//Assuming List2 as prefix
Original:
I saw your other question, and you just need to use the same group name. Make sure you have different values for all items regardless of the list they come from. A way to achieve this is adding something to the values, like: <%# "List1-" + Eval("ID") %> and modifying the code that reads your Request.Form["yourgroupname"].
I think you should just use RadioButtons instead of RadioButtonLists.
Here's an article that presents a solution to resolve the radiobutton naming bug.
Though this post is dated 1 year ago already, I just read it because I face the same problem.
Currently I have 1 solution using jQuery:
Client side script (you must also include jQuery)
function SetRadio(rb) {
$('input:checked').attr('checked', false);
rb.checked = true;
}
For every radiobutton (which is a listitem in a radiobuttonlist) I add the following on the serverside:
li.Attributes.Add("onclick", "javascript:SetRadio(this)");
For me this works in both IE and Firefox, with 3 radiobuttonlists, without using groupnames.
You can check each radiobuttonlist for a selecteditem/value, or you can extend the SetRadio function so it stores the selected value in a hidden field.
