I'm upgrading a very old version of RadControl *.dll files--not sure what version these *.dll files are from. Were all of these *.dll files (listed below) combined into a single *.dll file in the latest Telerik RadControl version? Perhaps in one of these files? Also, what is the XML file used for. Should it be placed in the same folder as the *.dll file with the same name?

The Telerik.Web.UI.dll now contains all of Telerik's controls in a single DLL. The old files you mention (that end in '.Net2.dll') are actually for an old edition of the controls called the RadControls for ASP.NET - which included each control in it's own DLL. Now, it's RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX and everything is in the one DLL.
The XML files are optional and provide extra information to things like IntelliSense in Visual Studio. Instead of just getting basic IntelliSense, the XML file allows you to have comments from Telerik shown. You'll want to place the XML files in the same folder as the DLL. As per the above link, there's supposedly 3 DLLs that come with the download that need to be referenced.
The AntiXSS Sanitizer Provider is included in the SanitizerProviders folder with the CodePlex release of the Ajax Control Toolkit. You need to add a reference to all three assemblies contained in the folder: SanitizerProviders.dll, AntiXSSLibrary.dll, and HtmlSanitizationLibrary.dll.
However, after downloading the library from http://ajaxcontroltoolkit.codeplex.com/, I only see 2 DLLs in the SanitizerProviders folder:

I need some help on ajax control toolkit in asp.net Visual Studio 2010 .net frame work

We have hosted on interland server and it does not support ajax control toolkit .DLL as it is a third party dll.
Could anybody give us an workaround on this, can we download the source code for this toolkit which is in javascript and can we include this .js files in our aspx pages so we can have ajax control toolkit for our website.
Any examples would be helpful if we can try this workaround working.

Just copy the DLL to your Bin folder.
If you're deploying an ASP.net app, and your project has a reference to the relevant assembly, the dll should be copied to your .\bin folder as part of the publish process, just like the compiled assemblies that comprise your app.
I have a ASP.NET project which relies upon the FreeImage .NET wrapper. This is loaded using a reference to a external directory. The wrapper relies upon the FreeImage.dll being present to work (clearly).
How do I get Visual Studio to include a reference to the FreeImage dll. It's not a .NET assembly, i think it was built in something else (so I can't add it as a reference).
I don't really want to have a copy for this project as these files reside in a different SVN repository
Add a pre-build macro/script to copy the file across each time you build. There's no way to add a symbolic link into a visstudio afaik.
I am assuming the .dll was built using a .NET supported language like C#.
You can just right click over the site and select 'Add Reference'.
Browse to the .dll you are looking for and then click 'Ok' to add it.
It should add a .refresh file to your site and the dll. The .refresh file is what is checked into your source control letting the site know the relative location of the .dll to the site.
Is there a way to find out which .Net version i.e. 1.1 or 2.0 or 3.0 etc.. was used to create a web project. I have files like .aspx, .aspx.vb, web.config etc but need to figure that out.
Also how to open the existing ASP.Net project in Visual Studio environment. I have received files from another person but for security reasons he do not want to share the complete project but only selected files. We both would like to know what is the bare minimum files which needs to be shared to open an existing project (I mean apart from the .aspx, .aspx.vb files which needs to be modified)

If its ASP.NET project check the <assemblies> element in web.config its must contain versions of each assembly you use.
Please try this:
Open Visual Studio.
Click on File -> Open -> WebSite (Or press Alt+Shift+O).
Select the folder which containing your file (aspx, aspx.vb, web.config)
In most of the cases it will open the folder as web site and you can run it with F5.
I don't think the files you mentioned will contain any references to the version of .NET they were build under, not unless they feature version-specific code & functionality (LINQ for 3.0+. generics for 2.0+ etc).
In order to open an actual Web project in Visual Studio, you need the project file. Without that you will only be able to open individual files.
I have finally finished my web site. I published it, and I was surprised at the results. Although the App_Code compiled into a single DLL file, every page's code behind compiled into its own DLL file. How do I make it so that it is one DLL file?
Also, is it possible to compile everything (SubSonic, AJAX, etc.) into that same single DLL file?
You might prefer to use the web application project style for that.
You can use ILMerge to merge assemblies into one.
The way we do it is by adding a deployment project to our site:

To accomplish this you will have to covert your project into a Web Application Project (Supported in Visual Studio 2005 SP1 and Visual Studio 2008).
The process of converting is not that hard, but you will need to move everything out of the app_code folder, as WAP (Web Application Projects) projects do not have code inside app_code.
Once you do this, everything inside your project is compiled into a single DLL file, any external assemblies are still contained in their own DLL files though, but there are options around that as well.
