Display buttons on hover in NSWindow - button

How can I get the buttons (close, minimize, maximize) to hide when the cursor isn't over the window and show themselves when the cursor is.
Basically, I want to duplicate the behavior that Quicktime has.

If you subclass NSWindow you can do it with your own buttons and tracking area.

Void overlapping image to prevent mouse over event

I have a problem with an icon I'm overlapping over other image
Originally, the image I'm showing has a hover popover that displays information about that product, we're aggregating a new feature to mark the products for example as removed or forbidden, the problem is that when the image icon overlaps the product's then it takes the mouse over event causing that when the mouse is over it the popover doesn't display.
Adding a listener to the icon to trigger the popover would be problematic (a bit difficult and disrupts the continuity of the popover being displayed)
Is there css trick or other way in which the icon can be inhibited from taking events and letting the underlying image to throw the events, kind of making the icon "transparent" for events? (don't know if this is possible at all)
Thanks in advance!

Can watir-webdriver click a css background-image or at an arbitrary position in the browser?

I have a "split button" from extjs much like the "Menu Button" demo on the extjs demo page at http://dev.sencha.com/deploy/ext-4.1.0-gpl/examples/kitchensink/index.html#basic-toolbar. The button has a drop-down arrow on the right side that is a css-background image on a parent tag. When the right side is clicked a menu will drop down with additional selections for the button action. I can click the button or the em but in both cases the menu will not drop down.
I've also tried sending both the button and em javascript events in different orders ( mousedown, mouseup, click, etc) still I can only trigger the main button and cannot get the drop down menu to appear.
Somehow I need to place a mouse click precisely on that background image to get the menu to appear. Would there be a way for watir-webdriver to click at an arbitrary position in the browser? Assuming, of course, that I could get watir-webdriver to give me the current coordinates of the button or em. Or is there some other way to trigger the drop down?
I posted a similar inquiry on the google watir forum, but still have no solution. Thanks for any help that can be provided.
Try this, works like a charm:
b.em(:class, "x-btn-split x-btn-split-right").button(:class, "x-btn-center").send_keys :down
If you are just trying to expand the menu and are not specifically testing the 'click' event, you can send the down key instead:
browser.div(:id, 'splitbutton-1022').send_keys :down
This worked for the sample site on Firefox. I did not try any other browsers.

QListView Transparent Scrollbar with Image in QT

I am having QListWidget, i want to have a Transparent Scrollbar with Image.
Initially that scrollbar should be hidden on scroll only it should show.
How i Can achieve this in Qt ?
Any examples or ideas are welcomed.
How i can apply image to Listview Scrollbar.
Here are the three things you can look at to be able to control the scroll bar for most kinds of widgets in Qt:
VerticalScrollBarPolicy
HorizontalScrollBarPolicy
enum Qt::ScrollBarPolicy.
To be able to track how the user interacts with your QListWidget or any Widget for that matter you need to subclass it and implement the virtual methods from the QWheelEvent and possibly the QKeyEvent.
Scrolling is typically done with the mouse wheel and with the keyboard arrow keys and sometimes page-up and page-down and spacebar. I haven't done a lot with QListWidget, but you should double check which keyboard events/mouse events trigger scrolling.
These events will cause scrolling event even after you set either or both of the ScrollBarPolicies for the widget to be Qt::ScrollBarAlwaysOff.
First you should put in the constructor of your widget
this->setVerticalScrollBar(Qt::ScrollBarAlwaysOff);
this->setHorizontalScrollBar(Qt::ScrollBarAlwaysOff);
So you just need to setMouseTracking(true) for the widget (so that it tracks more than just the clicks) and reimplement at the very least wheelEvent(), and when a wheel event occurs, set the vertical/horizontal scroll bar policies to true and call update on your widget.
If you want to turn the scrollbars back off after a few milliseconds after they have started scrolling, you will need to create a QTimer in your constructor for your subclassed widget and connect it to a slot that sets the scroll bar polices on the timeout. Then you start/restart that timer every time the user does a wheelEvent().
As far as applying an image to the ListView Scrollbar, you should look into subclassing QAbstractScrollBar, if you want to actually put an image on it or change the way it looks. Setting up some tool buttons may also be the way to go if you are trying to put buttons with different icons in place of the scrollbar.

How to remove the window border (containing minimize, maximize and close buttons) from a Qt widget?

I would like to animate a widget (QPushButon) to move across my application screen. For that I create a new button and using the QPropertyAnimation class and the property "geometry" of the button, I move it from top to down. The problem is that the button comes with the close, minimize, maximize buttons, etc. I don't want them to be there, nor the border that comes with the widget. What should I do ?
You want to use the function QWidget::setWindowFlags( Qt::WindowFlags ).
If you want to remove the maximize/minimize/close buttons, this should work for you:
setWindowFlags( Qt::CustomizeWindowHint );
Qt::CustomizeWindowHint turns off all the default window hints, like the maximize, minimize, close buttons, and the title bar.
Here's a list of all Qt::WindowFlags.

moving image in a div by mouse draging and generating the css dynamically

I want to implement an image/div drag functionality like the one in the tinymce,
when the user click on the image, its border are selected and one can move the image/div around in the editor, and in the meanwhile it generate inline css as well..
Thanks...
You probably want something like jQuery UI's draggables, which allows you to make dragging movements with your mouse which will alter the dragged element's CSS accordingly. Use the start and stop events if you want to change the border color when it is being dragged.
