I am (trying to) using Netbeans to build a simple Qt app (from a tutorial) and I cannot build it because I get this error:
/C/Qt/2010.02.1/qt/qmake/qmake.exe VPATH=. -spec win32-g++ -o qttmp-Debug.mk nbproject/qt-Debug.pro
make[1]:/C/Qt/2010.02.1/qt/qmake/qmake.exe: Command not found
when the file is exactly there, and I can open a terminal and execute it.
Note in the error message: "/C/Qt..." The actual path is C:/Qt...
I have used the tools/options/c++ dialog to browse to the file and select it, and it is specified as C:\Qt... just like all the other tools. What is corrupting the C: and making it /C/ ?
Now, if I remove the path to qmake, and have it use the PATH environment variable, it finds it, but then it fails due to 'multiple targets'...
Obviously, pilot error, but where? I have seen several posts on this, and they all say to make sure it is in the path, and it is, so now what? (I can open a terminal and type 'qmake' and I get the 'Usage: qmake..." so I know it is visible.
Windows 7, Netbeans 7.0, MinGW (I also have cygwin installed...).
Any and all help greatly appreciated.

Addenda: I changed the path to my 'make' to use the MinGW one rather than the cygqin one, and now it can find qmake, but I get other errors: 'Could not find mkspecs for your QMAKESPEC(win32-g++) after trying:...

QMake requires more than just a path to work correctly. On my Windows box, there is a menu option for 'Qt Command Prompt' under the 'Qt SDK 2010.05' group in the Start Menu. Running it produces the following:
Setting up a MinGW/Qt only environment...
-- QTDIR set to C:\Qt\2010.05\qt
-- PATH set to C:\Qt\2010.05\qt\bin
-- Adding C:\Qt\2010.05\bin to PATH
-- Adding C:\WINDOWS\System32 to PATH
-- QMAKESPEC set to win32-g++
You will want to make sure the environment you launch qmake in has all of those set.
The most probable reason you are see '/C/...' is because you are causing a mingw shell to run when you execute your build.

I am just learning C++ via Codelite, which was updated on 01/11. After updating to the latest version, 17.0.0, I get the error

I guess the probrem occured since the updating of Codelite, but I have no idea how to fix it.
Looks like a an old relic that was not handled properly during upgrade.
This can be fixed in 2 ways:
Update the mkdir command as defined by your compiler setup:
Go to Settings -> build settings and select your compiler from the list
Select the Tools tab
Select the last entry at the bottom mkdir
Replace the content with the mkdir that comes with CodeLite, for example, if you have installed CodeLite under C:\Program Files\CodeLite (the default path), set it to
"C:/Program Files/CodeLite/mkdir.exe" -p
Notice the double quotes around the command itself
Change the makefile generator used
Right click on your project and open the project settings
In the General tab, under the Makefile Generator change the selection from Default -> CodeLite Makefile Generator
I'm using Mac OS 13.1, and codelite 17.0.0, and when I 'clean', build completed successfully. But when I run its show 'make: ***[All] Error 2.

I had the same problem with Codelite 17 in windows.
Solution:
In Settings - Build - Tools under Makedir select the Path of mkdir.exe within in the Codelite folder (surrounded by " -quotes).
Although context help says to leave it empty in order to use the OS' own mkdir, Windows' mkdir is quite different to the mkdir of other *ix-like OS.
Furthermore for me it was necessary to explicitly add -p
There is a hint in Codelite's change dokumentation in the recent monthly build 17.1 that it solves this problem as a bugfix.
I am trying to install a C++/Qt/Qml program with CMake. I tried the IFW generator, but I'd rather stick to NSIS64.
Setup install file is correctly generated, and program is correctly installed. But my installed Qt program crashes right away, because
qt.qpa.plugin: Could not find the Qt platform plugin "windows" in ""
It is an easy to solve problem when running the program from the command line: we just need to set QT_QPA_PLATFORM_PLUGIN_PATH to the current directory (I installed/copied qwindows.dll there).
It is strange that the .exe does not look into the current program directory for Qt plugins. Anyways, a way to solve my problem would be: how to set an environment variable in a shortcut .lnk (created by NSIS)?
I have tried a bunch of things with NSIS (added in NSIS.template.in):

Maybe there is a different way to achieve this. Even if that would work, I would like to avoid setting QT_QPA_PLATFORM_PLUGING_PATH globally during the install, if possible, and restrain it to the program launch.
NOTE: documentation says:

I've got the TDM-GCC-64 distribution installed, and set to the PATH variable. I still can't install the cgo distribution github.com/mattn/go-sqlite3. I had CygWin installed before I read the most relevant answer to the question (This). However, installing the tdm distrubution has made no difference.
I get the following error on trying to run the application:
c:\go\pkg\tool\windows_amd64\link.exe: running gcc failed: exit status 1
/usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-pc-cygwin/10/../../../../x86_64-pc-cygwin/bin/ld: cannot find -lmingwex
/usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-pc-cygwin/10/../../../../x86_64-pc-cygwin/bin/ld: cannot find -lmingw32
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status
It seems that your Go installation is still using Cygwin distribution to invoke gcc very likely because of PATH environment variable setting. Try prepending your PATH environment variable with path to Mingw64 distribution bin\ directory (this will not persist so you need to try go run in same Command Line window):
set PATH=C:\Path\To\Mingw64\Installation\bin;%PATH%
go run whatever.go
(NOTE: make sure you have \bin there. If your Mingw64 distro is installed in C:\Mingw64 it will be C:\Mingw64\bin)
If above helped and you want to fix this permanently (and you don't depend on Cygwin tools in Command Line as doing below will replace some commands with Mingw64 ones) make sure that in your PATH environment variable path to Mingw64 is before the Cygwin path. You can do this by doing following:
Press Windows Key + R to bring up Run dialog
Type rundll32.exe sysdm.cpl,EditEnvironmentVariables and press Enter to bring System variables dialog
In the top section called User variables for USERNAME double-click the row where Variable column is Path to bring up Edit Environment Variable dialog
Now check if row where is path to your Mingw64 installation /bin directory is above the row where path to your Cygwin installation /bin directory is. If it is below click on it to select it and click Move Up button as many times as needed to bring it above Cygwin path.
Once done close both dialogs with OK button
While you can install mingw64 packages in Cygwin it is very likely not compatible with Go tooling and official documentation recommends Mingw64/MSYS as a compiler suite to get gcc - I strongly recommend using latest distribution linked in documentation.
I know this question has already been asked, but I encounter an issue that I haven't seen elsewhere.
I am trying to build automatically a QT program on Jenkins through a JenkinsFile.
So I want to build this program in command line.
On Qt Creator, everything works fine, my makefile is generated and the program compiles.
But when I manually type the exact commands that are executed in Qt on a terminal (cmd and cygwin), the compilation fails.
The errors are usually ld: cannot find -lXXXXXX
My guess is that it is an environment problem so I tried to add some lib paths in the $PATH, $LIBRARY_PATH, and $LD_LIBRARY_PATH variables but it doesn't resolve the problem. The error just becomes Undefined reference to ___XXXXXX
I would appreciate some help on this issue !

The building (slave) machine is a windows 7. Here is a screenshot of the compilation stage in Qt (which works fine). The commands I try to type in a terminal are exactly the same as the blue lines on the screenshot. (sorry some lines are written in French)
From the error message ld: cannot find -lXXXXXX and the environment variables, I would suppose that you are compiling in Linux/Unix. Now, if you are compiling with g++, the environment variables $PATH, $LIBRARY_PATH, and $LD_LIBRARY_PATH won't have any effect on finding libraries. What you may try is an -L argument to the compiler telling it where the library is located, I mean:
g++ -L /path/to/libXXXXX.so -l XXXXX -o result source.cpp
I'm reading Foundations of Qt Development - by Johan Thelin.
Here quote from page 450 about Building QMake Project.
If you choose to create a Makefile using QMake, you can build your project using a simple make command (or nmake if you’re using Visual Studio). You can clean up your intermediate files using make clean. The slightly more brutal step is to run make distclean, which cleans up all generated files, including the Makefile. You will have to run QMake again to get a Makefile for make.
I tried hard to clean the files using 'make clean'. But cmd displaying the message 'make' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
I searched here and tried to find the PATH to make inside Qt directory. But not successful. Then according to this solution I tried to use mingw32-make also. But same results.
Anyone of you can help me?
If you using mingw32, try mingw32-make clean. Remember, you must add mingw's bin directory to User Enviroment to use this command. Follow "My Computer" > "Properties" > "Advanced" > "Environment Variables" > "Path" and add ;C:\Qt\Tools\mingw492_32\bin

use command: setx PATH %PATH%;C:\Qt\Tools\mingw492_32\bin
