being new to asp I seem to be stumbling into a problem.
I have a masterpage with a table and several buttons. So far , so good.
When i go to a different file that uses my masterpage my contentholder changes it's size and that's not the way I wanted it ( for instance if I put in a label or some text). How do I prevent this from doing this?
For clarification I have got a screenshot.
The first screenshot is how I want it (look at the distance between home, trailer etc. and the title "DOCHTERS").

The second is what happens is I put in a label or another object (or even plain text ) of some sort(look at the distance between "DOCHTERS" and home, trailer etc.).

Any idea why this is happening and how I can fix this?
Can anyone steer me in the right direction?
You may want to run this application and see if turns out right because sometimes its just something with the WYSIWYG engine of the IDE.

Can you please point me in the right direction?
What I need is pretty much what these two random pages have:
vmware
chmprocessor
I need a layout with a header + footer and a left menu.
I am building this in asp.net and in the left sidebar I will have a treeview control.
Maybe use Master page and load user control in the content area or something similar.
I have googled, like: 2 column css layout etc, but it looks like it wont work.
I tried this one: Netrostar
and some other but I cant enter jsfiddler urls for som reason.
The left menu has problem. If I enter a long text, it will show up in the content area.
So the left sidebar must somehow have a dynamic width.
Since the left sidebar can have need for beeing very wide (if we are looking deep in the treeview hierarchy)
it is pretty convenient to use frames as they do in the two examples above.
But that was not recommended even 10 years ago, I guess.
Im no good at css, so I probably need a working example.
How would you have solved this?
Thank you
Now after searching for 2 weeks afther a module to work on drupal 7.x version whatever, I took another way/module/guide/tutorial and yes finally i got somehow what i want without a error occures.
But now i want to make something very simple but i don't see it.
I have the module view and panel. And i want to list 3 fields in the next way:
**so you need 10 reputation for images, i'll try it to explain it like this:
|=
(where "|" is the thumbnail and "-" are the title and the other "-" is the date.
Now it shows like this:
title
date
thumbnail
I see alot on the internet about , display suite, panels, view with rewrite output, ...
But this must be soooo simple and that is getting me crazy. If i know how i just could write it myself in php/html whatever i would do it.
But i can't see the forest for the trees
Please give me something to work with or a link of a tutorial whatever. I need a right direction for this.
Yes my english is bad and i hate drupal, but still , i think drupal can be great, but it is not for me.
You are talking about "theming" which is how your fields are displayed on the screen. By default Views emits some HTML that wraps them in elements like . The exact HTML depends on which type of display you are using.
The quickest way to achieve the layout you describe is not really about Views at all, but using CSS. Make the thumbnail float:left and ensure the other two are displayed inline (without line break).
I was on website on my iPhone and I encounter websites' guestbook. with those textFields. my keyboard appearance was totally change as you can see in screen below.
I am having many text fields in my app, I am wondering if I can create anything like that.
As I am new to development, still unknown what are the limits.
Can anyone guide me to right direction or to right documentation.
Is there is some regular way or its just total customization over Keybard.
I have one more doubt, does it matter what kind of keyboard is popping up as my all fields have numeric keyboard.
Well I just wanted to be helpful to someone who is following the same learning curve as me.
To achieve the affect in screenshot in question. UIToolbar control can be used to make those buttons. after the you need to just make this toolbar appear and disappear with the keyboard.
To make previous and next button work, you can use the tag property of textfield. on clicking on previous or next you can focus to previous or next text field.
Sorry about not posting code as I have not coded it yet but wanted to give pointer to anyone, who is looking.
I am trying to set up functionality similar to Netflix. Where if you mouseover a movie - you are presented with a window of movie details (all client-side).
At high level, can someone in this forum help by telling me how this should be implemented? I.E., one or more .aspx pages, what would go in code-behind, and .js file, css, etc. Just trying to get an idea on how this would be set up to work.
Basically, when I hover over an item, I need to query for details that belongs for that record being moused-over and display it in the window or div. I also need to have some functionality in that window (i.e. a textbox and button which will end up needing to get saved in a database).
Thanks for any tips and suggestions -
You would want to add an AJAX call to the hover event of the image, that pulls from a webservice/web method.
Here is a good example, you would change some things. However, it should get you started.

If I understood your question correctly, you should try this excelent jQuery plugin:
http://www.sohtanaka.com/web-design/css-on-hover-image-captions/
Look at the demo here:
http://www.sohtanaka.com/web-design/examples/image-hover/
easy to install and configure and very slick!
Good luck
EDIT: sorry wrong lik the first time
There are certainly many jQuery plugins that will do this for you. jQuery UI may also be of benefit.
Here is one that appears to do something like you are describing:

Should this bar on the HTML designer show the tag name? It sometimes does!
Here's an image of what I referring to.
I thought for sure it must be a bug but considering that I heard that MS was rewriting the editor (designer too?) I am starting to question whether I know how to use it!
Note the "TD" tooltip on the bottom right. Shouldn't this "TD" appear on the bar on the far right where the mouse would be?
This looks like a bug. If there's a reliable repro for it (i.e. if you can show to do it from a new or sample form), you should file the bug on http://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio. (Or you could file it anyways, but without a repro, it's hard to find and fix...)
