Compiling QVision - qt

I'm trying to compile QVision under Windows as instructed here: http://qvision.sourceforge.net/DownloadAndSetup.html
When I do that, I get the following in Qt Creator:
c:\Users\Medicine - SWEng\Desktop\qvision.0.6.0\common.pri:37:
warning: Unable to find file for
inclusion config.pri
And,
:-1: error: File config.pri not present. Read the INSTALL file, and modify config.pri.example to generate it.
UPDATE:
After solving the preceding error by renaming config.pri.example to config.pri, I now get the following warning:
c:\Users\Medicine - SWEng\Desktop\qvision.0.6.0\config.pri:43: warning: Unescaped backslashes are deprecated.
This error still remains even though I changed the path to where QVision is saved as follows: INSTALL_PATH=C:\Users\Medicine - SWEng\Desktop\qvision.0.6.0
I'm also getting this warning:
c:\Users\Medicine - SWEng\Desktop\qvision.0.6.0\src\qvgsl.pri:31: warning: Unescaped backslashes are deprecated.
The error I'm getting is:
:-1: error: In module qvmplayer: QVMPlayer binary was not found at: /usr/bin/mplayer . Set a correct path in the MPLAYER_BINARY_PATH variable at the config.pri file
Any ideas on that?

Read the install documentation you pointed to:
You must rename the file config.pri.example to config.pri. This file contains several parameters and options that configure the compilation and functionallity of the QVision.
... Open the file config.pri with a text editor, and read carefully the instructions contained in that file about how to tune each configuration parameter.

Warnings for "Unescaped backslashes are deprecated" are due to the content in variables INSTALL_PATH and GSL_PATH, in the 'config.pri' file. Read for example:

Error with install.packages using renv|knit|rmarkdown

I'm updating the renv folder from a project in order to adjust the libraries, but it seems I'm having a permission problem. After running renv::init() and trying to installing manually the remaining libraries using install.packages() I always get the message
Error: failed to retrieve 'https://cran.rstudio.com/bin/windows/contrib/4.2/ipeadatar_0.1.6.zip' [error code 23]

Using .libPath() I can see that the renv was created in the "AppData" hidden folder

So checking my permissions, I couldn't see anything wrong. Any thoughts about this problem? The thing it's that when I open my .Rmd file and try to knit, I receive the same message "1: curl: (23) Failure writing output to destination", now from rmarkdown retrieve installation, so it may be a configuration/permission problem.
Adding "C:\rtools42\usr\bin" and "C:\Program Files\R\R-4.2.1\bin" in the environment variable didn't help.
As I could see, opening an empty file from rstudio, I could use install.packages() without problem.
Although this doesn't solve the problem directly, you can also instruct renv to use a different library path with something like:
# use a project-local library path
RENV_PATHS_LIBRARY = renv/library
in your project's .Renviron file. Depending on your environment, you might also consider placing the library path in an alternate location.

Unexpected exiting when simulate in Modelsim

I am using Modelsim 10.4a to simulate my verilog code, and I have tb file to test my another .v file. Both of files are compiled successfully, but when I tried to run -all to see wave, it give me a message:
Modelsim is exiting with code 7. check the transcript file for more information on the fatal error.
Are there any clue for me to know what probably cause this. I didn't see any transcript in my project file and solution in google. Thanks.
The user manual list the error codes in the Appendix. This is file not found.
You can find the location of the transcript file by doing
Tools > Edit Preferences > By Name > Main > file

Building PhantomJS 2.0 on Windows results in a strange error

I am trying to build PhantomJS 2.0 on Windows from the c:\fastio\phantomjs\phantomjs directory. For some reason, the build process fails after a while, with 2 errors (see error message below):
1) It tries to access "C:fastiophantomjsphantomjssrcqtqtbasebinmoc.exe". Obviously, the backslash characters between directory names are somehow getting stripped away deep in the build process - possibly a mismatch between Windows-style "\" and Linux-style "/" (but this is only a guess).
2) There's another error, "Failed to read names from file: C:/fastio/phantomjs/phantomjs/src/qt/qtwebkit/Source/WebCore/mathml/mathtags.in".
If I remove sh.exe from the PATH, the build still gets to this point, and only error #2 appears, leading me to think that error #2 is the real problem here.
Here is the full error message (as far as I can tell this is happening while building WebKit):

(By the way, I saw this question but I'm already past the issues described there, my error is happening later in the build process.)
How can I make this work?

Looks like I found the solution myself, here were my steps:
Remove as much as possible from the PATH leaving only the entries critical to the build process
Most importantly, remove all GitHub's git directories from the PATH
Install GIT separately (not from GitHub but from git-scm.com), add its cmd directory only (not its bin directory) to the PATH
Install ActivePerl separately, add it to the PATH
It's moving past the error I asked about with the steps above (still not sure if it will finish the build successfully, it's taking a while).

GOBJECT_INTROSPECTION_CHECK syntax error on configure

On "./configure" of an open source project I get:

Ubuntu 12.04 package "gobject-introspection" and "libgirepository1.0-dev" are present. Removing the GOBJECT_INTROSPECTION_CHECK line allows configure to complete, but the project fails a dependency later.
How can I get past this configure step cleanly? Googling for this issue shows bugs filed against numerous OS projects for this same blocking issue, but the usual answer is "install gobject-introspection".
As the OP discovered on his own he had to install the gobject-introspection package to get the m4 macros that were being used.
The error message has the raw macro in it, as configure scripts are generated from configure.in/configure.ac files via m4/etc the fact that the raw macro is in the output file indicates that the macro did not get translated at generation time.
The gobject-introspection m4 files were apparently installed after autogen.sh (or equivalent) was run to generate the configure script. Re-running the autogen.sh script should regenerate the configure script and run the macro correctly.

Closure Templates through IKVM?

Google Closure works GREAT without the Java Runtime Environment by using IKVM
In case that ever goes away, the simplified steps to convert it to an exe are:
Download and extract (but nothing to install) Closure Compiler and IKVM
Move compiler.jar to the IKVM bin folder
ikvmc -target:exe -fileversion:2012.09.17 .\compiler.jar (with the jar's release date). Note: I get a few warnings about ANT libraries.
Copy these dependencies from the ikvm bin directory to the closure directory:
IKVM.OpenJDK.Core.dll
IKVM.OpenJDK.Jdbc.dll
IKVM.OpenJDK.Misc.dll
IKVM.OpenJDK.SwingAWT.dll
IKVM.OpenJDK.Text.dll

Then you can move the compiler.jar and new compiler.exe back to your closure directory. Fredrik recommends this powershell version of execution because of the ability to specify ascii encoding overriding unicode (half the bytes):

However, I do not have the same luck with the Closure Templates's SoyToJsSrcCompiler.jar. I get warnings from ikvmc -target:exe -fileversion:2011.12.22 .\SoyToJsSrcCompiler.jar as with compiler.jar.

The exception can be an bug in IKVM. Which version do you use? Test the latest version.

Another problem can be that you have not compile all needed jar files for SoyToJsSrcCompiler.jar. In which jar file is this missing class file? Take a look in the wiki to see how you compile multiple jar files.
The next problem can be that there is the same package in different jar files. It there are only package visible for some mthods this will not work for .NET. You can test a sharedclassloader. See the wiki for details.
