Circuit Lap Racing Game using Flex 4? - pointers

Are there any resources where I can learn or possibly see a sample of a simple circuit-type top-view racing game using Flex 4? Also, please provide pointers of things to consider when planning to making something like such.
It doesn't need to be multi-player, the users will go against pre-programmed AI racers then after the race, the user's score will be submitted to an online high-score table. The submission of high scores can easily be done by calling a PHP file from the server.

Flex 4 is not for game so I don't think you will find any example

guidance needed for corda Application design

I have a web background majorly with javascript, I have started learning Corda recently for project implementation and need guidance in this regard,
So our application is based on the web, the user signs up with different school name, create question papers, and then want to share either part of it or whole with teachers of some other school in our platform. they can make changes and assign it back to creator and the process goes back and forth, finally signing the paper to be finalized, once finalized it cannot be changed by anyone. I need to store these transactions in Corda application, not sure how to go about it, I did try replicating it using negotiation application in corda/kotlin/sample, but stuck in a bug as I was trying to send a list of objects.
I do have the following questions in mind
Should I use enterprise edition or go with open source as I think I need schema design for this. web db is in postgress
As far as I have seen each node is predefined in the config with username and password,is there a way to create the node while the user signs up.
I have schools and teachers inside the school, do I need a separate node for each school and then create states in each node(not sure if a node can be set up at run time). or do I use the account's library provided for creating the account of each teacher, if yes id there a way to use passwords in it, unable to find password field in it.
how do I send an array of objects to the state, or should I create a separate state for each question, as different questions can be assigned to different teachers, but again multiple questions can be assigned to the same teacher.
These are few questions on my mind any help is much appreciated, as most of the examples gave IOU samples or states with int and string, Please guide me in the right direction.
Alessandro has good advice here, definitely look at the samples repos for inspiration on how to build what you're looking for.
start with open source, it's easier to prototype and you can switch to enterprise later it won't be an issue for you
this depends on design, you wouldn't really want to create a new corda node per-person, you might want to have corda accounts that run on a single node instead. See accounts sdk here: https://github.com/corda/accounts
what you might do is make a corda node for each school and then accounts per teacher like you were already were thinking. That would mean only a couple of nodes based on the number of schools you have.
as long as your state is marked with #CordaSerializable you won't have problems sending arrays of data, I send an array in a state in this sample here: https://github.com/corda/samples-java/blob/master/Advanced/secretsanta-cordapp/contracts/src/main/java/net/corda/samples/secretsanta/states/SantaSessionState.java#L24

How to choose right design solution for application?

Currently i am creating a design for a new enterprise application. Right now we have a lot of different proprietary solution and we wanna create a new one to switch from them all.
Briefly it is a kind of data destribution system. We have a lot of clients who needs a lot of different data.
What do i want:
1) Common REST API service
2) Some synchronoyu(async?) enviroment to send task and get data back. On image below you could see i think to use spring kafka request/reply template. It helps to scale my application in future.
3) Different typec of calculators for every kind of data
I search a lot how to do the second point the best way but didn't find any ready solutions or advices. Is it good to use kafka here? Maybe some one could give me advice about best practice in such situations.
Plz, send me links for articles or something else, because it will be a big application and i wanna start to create it rightly from the beginning.

Is there any Flex 4 data visualization for analysis of relational data (link-based phenomena)?

I have been goggling a lot to find anything that can help me with link-based data visualization in Flex 4. something like below screen shoot (made using Ravis).
Where user can drag these nodes, without removing the links and on double click of any node we can set some properties for that particular node.
I found this Ravis (Birdeye), but not much of examples and support is available for that. I was wondering is there any thing already present in Flex 4 or anything that might help?
Thanks
Try the components from Kap IT Lab They have been around for a long time, and you can test them for free. They also have a free community edition, which may suit your needs.
I am not associated to them in any way. You can see demos of their components in the Tour de Flex application.

Workflow Foundation 4 - How to create a web based representation of the workflow?

We have to write a ASP.NET site based on a workflow.
The client wants to see a graphical representation of the workflow. In addition (let's say it is a workflow for processing orders), the client wants to see at what point in the workflow any given order is, indicated on the graphical workflow representation by a highlighted node or some visual queue.
All of this must be available via a web interface.
Was hoping somebody had some bright ideas for how to achieve this without writing extensive custom controls.
Does Workflow Foundation 4 offer anything itself that would assist toward this end?
There are ways to use the WorkflowDesigner and issue the save image command through code but as it's a WPF control it needs to be hosted on a WPF form. I have tried to do this from a webpage but as the form isn't visible it has a size of 0. I didn't spend a lot of time in this so it might be possible.
See this for details on how to do so.

Flex: Testing UI components at the click level?

I've been working on a Flex component and I'd like to write some automated tests for it. The trouble is, the UI testing tools I've looked at (FlexMonkey and Selenium Flex API) don't simulate "enough":
Most of the bugs which have come up so far relate to the way Flex deals with dragging and dropping, which these libraries can't simulate accurately enough. For example, I need to test a case where there is a "drop" event which occurs in the bottom half of a component – neither FlexMonkey nor Selenium Flex API can do that (they may simulate a mouse event, but they won't include coordinates).
So, is there any "good" way to automate that sort of testing?
Edit: After much research, it looks like the only piece of software that can do this is iMacros, which is Windows-only and the interface is... Lacking. So I'm going to be writing my own. Basically, it will put an HTTP interface on java.awt.Robot so code (in any language) can simulate mouse/keyboard events. If you're interested, PM me and I'll keep you updated.
Edit 2: I have published the first version of the framework I wrote, Blunderbuss, over at BitBucket: http://bitbucket.org/wolever/blunderbuss/ . You'll need Jython to run it (http://www.jython.org/), but after that the flex-client example should work.
Videos of Blunderbuss live over at Vimeo:

At the moment this remains a proof-of-concept, as I haven't had the cycles to clean it up and make it more useable… But maybe enough people bothering me would give me that time :)
I've used Eggplant to test Flash and AIR apps without having to add any hooks into the code. It's a great tool but it's quite expensive. It simulates a real user by VNC-ing into a system and uses image recognition - among other things - to interact with the app.
I am definitely interested in your custom Java class, and (though I am not the best at Java (yet...)), I would be willing to help out if you're thinking of making this collaborative.
As to Flash MouseEvents. Unfortunately, there really isn't an accurate way to simulate the drag/drop experience in Flash. MouseEvents, when generated by the mouse, are handled in a very different way than regular events and while you could simulate actions by passing events into the handling functions, or by making the dispatcher fire a new DragEvent( DragEvent.DRAG_DROP..., it will not be the same as having the user interact with it. And for some functionality (like gaining access to the clipboard), nothing inside Flash will accomplish your goals.
To be honest, you're probably headed in the right direction -- using something which is not written in Flash to drive faked mouse events is probably your best bet.
I've never had to use it in Flex but i recently stumbled across some info on automation packages in the MS Surface SDK... after looking into it those classes automated user behavior which can be used for testing i.e. move a fake mouse to this point, perform this action. As you're using Flex mx.automation packages and classes. My guess (and hope) is that you'd be able to achieve what you want using these classes.
You could also try auto-hotkey - it is similarly a macro-editing program but it has proven to be very efficient and you can write scripts and set it up very easily.
