asp.net ajax popupcontrol items show briefly on page - asp.net

I have a usercontrol on my page. The user control contains an ajax updatepanel with a listbox in it. There is also a PopupControlExtender that is tied to that panel so when the user clicks on something the popup shows. That is all working fine except when my page initially loads I briefly see all the listbox items and then they go away.

Got it:
style="display:none" on the updatepanel

Click event of Link button inside a gridview of user control not working when the control is added dynamically in a web page asp.net?

On clciking a button in the page , I am adding an user control in to a place holder of the page.
The user control has a gridview which has a link button as template field and has a click event associated with it.
When I click the link button inside the gridview , the link button click event is not fired and also the user control disappears in the page.
Please suggest a solution
--You need to recreate all your dynamic controls at the early enough in the page lifecycle (page_load/page_init), so the asp.net will detect events and attach them.

Why don't events of dynamically added user control fire on postback?
You need to recreate your dynamic controls on every postback - remember a new class instance of your page is created every postback, so any dynamic controls you created the previous time will need to be recreated.

AJAX Add a dynamic form and AJAX Post data

This is what I'm trying to do with AJAX:
[DropDownList]
I have a DropDownList (not inside an UpdatePanel), populated by different Products to "Add" to the database.
[UpdatePanel #1]
Below, I have an Conditional UpdatePanel that listens for "SelectedIndexChanged" on the DropDownList, when that event is triggered it adds TextBoxes to a div "productForm" inside the UpdatePanel. It creates the Form according to the Product to add.
[Button]
Below the UpdatePanel I have a button that "should" submit the form above.
[UpdatePanel #2]
I have an update panel that listens for the event on Button "Click" event. I also have a div in the ContentTemplate that should post out data that was submitted from the "Add Product Form" in the first UpdatePanel.
The thing is, when I submit (and the Controls are still visible in the first UpdatePanel. It can't read the data from the TextBoxes becaus they aren't there. Also, if I try to add all this to the same UpdatePanel, the Controls disappear whenever I click the Submit button.
Any ideas how to make something similar work?
Without the code I can suspect that when you dynamically populate first div on dropdown selected index changed event, since its within update panel, viewstate is never made aware of new controls and on submit can't post them back to server.
I've had some bad experiences with update panel and never use it other than very simple scenarios. Try getting familiar with jQuery ajax. I would do what you want to do using jQuery and web methods.

Using ModalPopupExtender in ASP.NET Repeater

When using ModalPopupExtender inside a repeater, when the page loads, ALL of the popups appear without being called ( one for each item in the repeater) and then rapidly dissappear. With this, the popup works , but the problem is these popups being showed at the beginning. The popup is an OK/CANCEL popup, that triggers a postback when OK is clicked and does nothing when cancel is clicked. It is loaded on page load so that it exists when the user clicks on a linkbutton on the repeater. When the user clicks on the linkbutton, our intention was taht the popup appear directly without doing a postback, and this was achieved , just that small problem that random parade of popups at the beginning!thank you in advance!
I was not able to answer until now, sorry.
Turns out the HTML code and the CSS had conflicting codes and that made the popup appear!

Button, UpdatePanel and MasterPage

I have asp.net application and a TabContainer from AjaxControlToolkit on a form. There are 4 tabs, each containing UpdatePanel, hidden button and some custom .ascx (each with it's own javascript file). Buttons are triggers for panels to update the contents and they are triggered from the 'OnClientActiveTabChanged' event of the TabContainer.
This technique is described here and similiar here. It's pretty simple when looking at it.
The only problem I have is that the whole scenario works when used as a separate page but it doesn't seem to work when masterpage is around that page. Suddenly buttons act as full postback controls.
Do you have any idea what's the reason?
Assuming the buttons your referring to are on the master page, I think you'll want to register the master page buttons as update panel triggers.

Problem with Ajax control toolikt Modal Pop control

I have an ajax control toolkit modal popup on my page and in that modal popup i have a gridview on which user select some item through checkbox on each row of gridview. Whenever user check or uncheck on checkbox my modal popup automatically hide. I have set autopost property of checkbox set to true becuase im perporfing some calculation on each checkchanged event. what may be the problem
Your page is posting back because of the autopostback="true" on the checkbox, thus hiding the modal popup.
Look up 'ASP.Net Page Lifecycle' for further understandinf. It is important to know how this works.
I'm sure you'd also like to know how to solve this.
You could:
Set AutoWireUp=false on the page, but then you'd have to wire all events on the page manually. Since you aren't familiar with the Page Lifecycle, I'm not sure how successful you'd be.
Use a javascript-only modal popup.
Perhaps an UpdatePanel can be used.
