How to display image into each recent post in drupal front page? - drupal

I am very new to drupal. As I have seen many of drupal free theme can show image in the recent post on the first page of drupal
I tried searching some ways to do but seem my keyword search was mismatched.

If you don't want to install any modules, you can simply use a standard HTML <img> tag to put an image in your node body (make sure your selected Input Format allows for the use of that tag). You can then use FTP to upload the linked images to your /sites/default/files directory.
The modules mentioned by Nikit (especially IMCE) can ease this process greatly. A the very minimum, IMCE allows you to upload files to your server without using FTP and adds a handy "insert image" link after your "body" input fields. Clicking that link uploads your image and then generates the <img> code for you.

You can simply style it in node body (wysiwyg + imce can help to quickly upload image and style it).
But recommend to you use image or cck + imagefield, and theme it via node-{CONTENTTYPE}.tpl.php
Little help here: http://www.hankpalan.com/blog/drupal-themes/theming-node-drupalthe-easy-way
But recommend to learn theming in drupal.

If you don't want to use HTML or change any PHP files then use the admin console.

How to change text in WooCommerce My Account Downloads area?

In the Downloads tab of the My Account area in WooCommerce, by default the text says "No downloads available yet". I need to change this text to something more specific.
I would rather not do this by copying plugin files to my child theme, but would prefer to do it with code snippet.
If anyone can help, it would be massively appreciated.
Many thanks for your time.
If you have access to ftp you can open the folder of Woocommerce plugin into a text editor.
You can find for the string and replace it by a more specific one directly into the code.
I think it's the cleanest way.
Let me know if it works.
You have different ways of doing this:
1- Copy wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/templates/myaccount/downloads.php to your theme folder inside /woocommerce folder and overwrite the part where the string is outputted -> recommended
2- Edit the woocommerce-[LANG_CODE]_[LANG_CODE].po file inside wp-content/languages/plugins but you would lose this if you update the plugin
3- If you have WPML installed you can do it via string-translation feature
4- Edit it via JS, not so clean but hey, it would work! :D

How to change height of default wordpress embed link "windows"

could anyone tell me if it's possible to make all these(in picture) wp-default links with class .wp-embed .post same height so that it won't look horrible like in picture.enter image description here I know that it is programmed so that the height addapts to text size inside it.
How do i do that, i can't find they way how to overwrite that with CSS. Is it only achievable by PHP / if so how - i can barely read PHP for now...
There are two separate questions here:
How do I change the css on a wordpress site?
The answer is that it will depend on the setup of your site.
-- You may have access to edit the css for the theme by going to Dashboard -> Appearance -> Editor and then finding the style.css
-- You may also have access to edit the css file through manually editting the file on the server.
-- if those first two options don't work, and you are able to add plugins, you can add a plugin to let you add css to the page. Simple Custom Css is one such plugin.
How do I fix this particular css problem?
To answer this question I would need to see more of the css and html for this page

Django CMS Deleting HTML5 Tags and Attributes

I am having a big time issue with solving a problem. I have a placeholder called main for the content region of the page. I was building that region in the cms. Everything was going great until I attempted to add an embedded video contained in an iframe. When I save django cms completely removed the iframe and left an empty div. So I attempted to use prettyphoto light box to open the video by clicking on an image. The code I added to the page through the cms is:
<a rel='prettyPhoto[youtube]' href="https://www.youtube.com/embed/mqVZF_yb8C0?autoplay=1&start=1765&iframe=true" data-rel="prettyPhoto">Click Image</a>
When I saved, django cms completely removed the data-rel attribute from the link which is obviously needed for the js. So I went a step further and adapted the code of the data attribute to:
rel="prettyPhoto"
and the cms also removed that attribute! Also anytime I add an html5 tag like article of section it hates that too! What gives here? Am I doing something wrong? Any advice would be appreciated.
Aaron,
Thanks.
Please see the discussion at https://github.com/divio/django-cms/issues/1529. We use html5lib to clean the contents of the text plugin (this cannot be turned off for security reasons).
What you'll want to do is write a custom plugin (possibly one that can be embedded inside text plugins).

Magento catalog image change on hover

On the catalog/category page I would like images change when hover. Like clubmonaco.com I know how to do it on html/css but no idea on magento. Any help?
You could modify files in this directory:
app/design/frontend/base/default/template/catalog/product
for example (list/ and list.phtml)
or your template for example:
app/design/frontend/default/yourtemplate/template/directory with product files
CSS files you can find in:
skin/frontend/
You should also think, where the second image is stored. You can use "CSS-Sprites" for this case - a single image file, that contains both photos. The disadvantage is, that you have to customize every page, where magento shows product images.
Alternatively you have to define exact orders. First image is the front view, second image is always the back view.
The programming part is not really difficult. Look at
app/design/frontend/base/default/template/catalog/product/list.phtml
for the Catalog view. Path can vary, if you have a custom template. In the Magento backend there is a feature to show up the real path (system->configuration->development tools).
You can write your Javascript directly into the list.phtml. Magento also writes JS-code directly in the .phtml files. Of course it's not very pretty, but Magento is so complex; if other people work with the shop system, it will be easier to find.
Keep in mind, that the list.phtml contains two layouts: Grid and List View. Just if you do a change and wonder, why you can't see a change in the frontend ;-)

Adding images into blocks html

I've added some html code in my Blocks content and enabled Full HTML filter.
I've used relative paths for my images, such as "sites/all/themes/zen/zen/image.png"
I guess this is not correct because I need to change my paths depending on I'm in the home page or "node/id" page.
I guess I cannot use PHP inside blocks, thus I cannot use $base_url... how can add images path with only html ?
thanks
The previous answers provide a part of the solution, but here's a fuller scoop:
Hand-written HTML
If your site lives at example.com (i.e. it's the "root" site), then adding a front slash to your relative path will solve the issue, as others have suggested:
<img src="/sites/all/themes/zen/zen/image.png">
However, if your site lives at example.com/my-drupal-site, then you'll need to write it like this:
<img src="/my-drupal-site/sites/all/themes/zen/zen/image.png">
It really is better if you can use PHP to determine the appropriate path. If you're calling an image from a theme, you can use the Drupal function drupal_get_path to get the path like this:
$img_path = drupal_get_path('theme', 'zen') . '/zen/image.png';
And then you could be really Drupaly about it and use the theme_image function to generate the HTML for the image:
$img = theme('image', $img_path, 'My Image - Alt Text', 'My Image - Title Text');
Where $img now holds the HTML for the <img> tag and its src, alt, and title attributes. See the API documentation for drupal_get_path and theme_image for more information.
Point-and-click Solution
As jeffreymb points out, your easiest bet is to use a combination of a WYSIWYG editor and a built-in file handling module called IMCE to gloss over all these details for you. If you don't have access to the "PHP code" input format, this is the best solution.
So, steps:
Install the WYSIWYG module, as well as a WYSIWYG editor (I suggest CKEditor).
Install the IMCE module and IMCE WYSIWYG Bridge module, and enable the IMCE button for your WYSIWYG editor in its configuration settings for available Buttons.
See this post for a little more detail on that setup process, and make sure to read the documentation that the WYSIWYG module displays on its configuration page.
Once you have IMCE installed and integrated with your WYSIWYG, when you click the "Image" button in your WYSIWYG toolbar, your normal dialog should appear but with a new little icon to open the IMCE file browser. This file browser allows you to browse your files folder for images or to upload new files. It also supports a modicum of image manipulation, and will automatically generate the necessary HTML once you've selected an image.
I would recommend using the Pathologic module for this case. It is a filter that you can add to your input formats to convert relative URLs like that into proper URLs using your site's base URL. Plus it's useful if you have images in your RSS content as sites that re-publish the content (like feed aggregators, etc.) have the link to the full URL.
I use the CKeditor and IMCE modules to do this on my sites.
It is very user friendly and not that hard to set up.
Instead of the relative path, use the absolute path. So it'd be:
<img src="/sites/all/themes/zen/zen/image.png">
Note the slash at the beginning. The slash should be the only thing you need to do to convert your existing relative paths to absolute ones for use in straight HTML.
If you start your image paths with a slash ("/sites/all/themes/zen/zen/image.png") this will always be relative to your drupal root directory.
You could also simply select "PHP code" as the Input format, and use $base_url as you say.
I does this with cck blocks . The cck blocks is drupal module,it can put drupal fields into blocks
