flex upload file component - problems with filereference - apache-flex

The following code is used in a component I name FileUpload.mxml which is used in two three different sections of the flex application.

When it is used in the first instanced, it works fine, but when it is used in different sections it gets the following error from the code below:
Error #2037: Functions called in incorrect sequence, or earlier call was unsuccessful.

It follows the same sequence every time, i.e., file=new FileReference; configureFileListeners(file); file.browse(); file.upload(uploadURL) but only works on the first instance of the component being created.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

browse method only can be call directly from "User-Interaction" event such as CLICK event. If you wrap it in a function or class than that error will occur.

I'm a noob at Flex, but from what I've read:
Try calling .cancel() before .browse() to ensure no event is conflicting.

Unable to utilize page objects inside before hook with webdriverIO

This returns an error when the test is ran of
pageObject.button.click is not a function
I have other page objects being utilized in the test outside of the before hook that are working fine. When I move the above object outside of the hook and into the main test, it still returns the same error. It appears to be setup the same as my other page objects, so I'm not sure what I am doing wrong.
Based on what i can see from you Product class, the getter button() is not returning the webElement. It is returning just a string .element.
Please try by updating the code as like below:

how to update Visual Studio UI when using DynamicItemStart inside a vsix package

I'm implementing a DynamicItemStart button inside a Menu Controller. I'm loading the dynamic items for this button when Visual Studio starts. Everything is loaded correctly so the initialize method is called an I see all the new items in this Dynamic button. After the package is completely loaded I want to add more items to this Dynamic button, but since the package is already loaded the initialize method is not called again and I cannot see the new items in this Dynamic button. I only see the ones that were loaded when VS started.
Is there any way that I can force the update of this Dynamic button so it shows the new items?. I want to be able to update the VS UI after I added more items but outside the Initialize method.
The implementation I did is very similar to the one showed on this msdn example:

Does anyone know if an Update of the UI can be done by demand?

I finally got this working. The main thing is the implementation of a derived class of OleMenuCommand that implements a new constructor with a Predicate. This predicate is used to check if a new command is a match within the DynamicItemStart button.

I had to review a lot of documentation since it was not very clear how the commands can be added on execution time. So I hope this save some time whoever has to implement anything similar.
The missing piece for me was figuring out how to control the addition of new items.
It took me some time to figure out that the matches predicate (the IsValidDynamicItem method in the sample) controls how many items get added - as long as it returns true, the OnBeforeQueryStatusDynamicItem gets invoked and can set the details (Enabled/Visible/Checked/Text etc.) of the match to be added to the menu.

How to trigger a function only once in case of a mouseEvent

I am trying to make a simple mp3 player using flash. The songs are loaded using an XML file which contains the song list. I have "play" button with the instance name "PlayBtn". I have an actionscript file named "playctrl", the content of which are listed below:

However on clicking the play button, I notice that the function playSong() is called 7-8 times(check by printing an error msg. inside the function) resulting in overlapped audio output and the player crashing as a result. interestingly, sound object doesn't have a built-in "isPlaying" boolean property (strange), so you could just create your own.

just a note: by convention, class names are capitalized camel case while instance names are uncapitalized camel case. so your playctrl.as class file should (or could) be PlayCtrl.as, and your PlayBtn instance should (or could) be playBtn.

The title of your question is a bit misleading, the answer I gave you is a solution to the question expressed in the title.
Looking at your code, I would look at separating the concerns, on one hand you want to load the song data, on the other hand you want to control the sounds. I would implement separate classes for each concern. If you create a separate class for your player control, you'll be able to dispatch event within that class without the event bubbling all over your app and calling your functions several times.

You could do this by implementing a Boolean that would be set when the sound is stopped or played.
In any case here's another way to filter unwanted clicks

Why is object property null?

Below is my class, which simply reads an xml file and provides the contents in e4x format. Unfortunately, after the constructors executes and sets the xmlProperties property with the expected values, it some how becomes null. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

_xmlProperties is being set by a File Load call (via a callback event). It is not being set directly in the constructor.
Are you sure you are waiting for the call to finish and the callback event to fire before you check the value of _xmlProperty?

UIImagePickerController Crashing Monotouch

I am trying to write an application, but it is constantly crashing when using the uiimagepickercontroller. I thought that it might be because I was not disposing of the picker after each use, but it will often freeze up on first run as well. Usually I'll take a picture and it just freezes, never asking to "use" the picture.
Do you have any suggestions? Here is my code. Has anyone gotten this to work?

Try to call your event handlers code from the main thread by using BeginInvokeOnMainThread().
So my issue was very similar.
Instead of having a delegate class, I had the delegates inline for the picker.
For some reason the app froze every time after talking the image, not stopping in any breakpoint after that.
