I'm developing a basic login page in ASP.NET.
The page includes an email field, a password field and a submit button.
For some reason Internet Explorer doesn't offer to remember the login info, while other browsers such as Firefox & Chrome do.
For other pages (Gmail, Twitter etc.) IE als offers to remember password.
Please note that I am not using a username that I previously asked IE not to remember the password for.
Basically, how does IE recognize a login page, and why won't it recognize mine as such?

I had similar problem while developing simple login form which submits itself by tag <a> instead of <input type="submit">. But the form was not developed under ASP.NET (which i do not know what is).

The article discusses main prolems with occurence of "remember password" dialog in IE. My case was number 5 in that article. I inserted AutoCompleteSaveForm() method before submit() one and IE started to display the dialog.
Breafly speaking, the incorrect form code was:

The correct one was:

I know this post is quite old but I was running into this same problem. My issue was that I had converted the Login control to a template and because of styling concerns I changed the default asp:Button to an asp:LinkButton.
Internet Explorer apparently looks for an <input> tag in order to save passwords. The link button renders an <a> tag so IE wasn't recognizing my Login control as a valid login form.

I Google and search every article here and in the google but i cannot find anything regarding this issue. Any idea why the request.form["name here"] is nothing when the html control is disabled something like
<input type="radio" name="name here" disabled />
removing disabled would return the values. I tested this only on IE 10 not sure on other browsers.
I am looking into changing the css of the radio button but that is a different story.

Disabled form fields are not part of the posted data. If you disable the html control the data will not be posted.
If you want to show the data and have it posted, but not possible to edit you can set the control to readonly instead.

Our company uses PinPointe for email marketing and we have a Drupal 6 site with several language domains. I have created a web form except I did not create any fields in Drupal. Instead in the node Edit NOT THE NODE WEBFORM EDIT....in the node edit for the body section I added the HTML and the javascript for form. Everything works well and the data is captured to pinpointe. The problem lies in the fact that the page..upon clicking submit..actually redirects to PinPointe where I get a friendly message saying. Thanks for joining. Well I don't want this. I would like to just pop an alert saying thanks and leave the user on the page they were on. I tried this code for using jquery to do the post but it isn't loading and I suspect that's because I need it in the header not the body.
So all I want is to submit the data to pinpointe and not redirect the user. So here is where my limited Drupal knowledge runs out:
If I create the input fields in the node webform then how do I get the form to post to pinpointe?
If I create the fields dynamically in the node body (not node>>webform) I can direct the submission to PinPointe but then how do I stop the redirect?

Create your custom confirmation page in Drupal. Then set up PinPointe to redirect to this confirmation page.
In the PinPointe form manager, there is a option under the 'Thank you page options' to send a signup user to a custom URL.
I've been working on my personal website as of late, and even thought it's not a big problem because I'm the only one that sees it, it's annoying nonetheless.
Whenever I go to my login page, it all works fine. If I enter a bad username/password, it will just print a simple text message error(intended). But, if I login correctly, then instead of redirecting to the root of my website as I intend, it will instead create a new tab in firefox and from there it will be in / (which is correct). The problem is why does it create a new tab? I didn't even think forms were capable of such a thing:

«target="/login"» means "open in window named «/login»". If it doesn't exist, a new one is opened. I think you meant to use

I have a page that is rendered through xulrunner service. There is a form and a button under the form.
For accessibility requirement, I forced the focus on the text field within the form when the user navigates to this page. However, sometimes JAWS always reads the Post Comment button label. Sometimes, JAWS reads the aria-label “Enter Comments”.
Here is the code:

I'm a Jaws user and don't know of a way around this. Since Jaws tends to create it's own model of pages in a virtual buffer things can behave slightly differently then you would expect. To confirm or disprove weather it's a Jaws specific bug I would suggest trying out NVDA an open source and quite good Windows screen reader.

But when I click on "Submit", nothing happens. Can someone please help me? I think I've looked at it too much and I can't see the forest for the trees anymore...

Okay, so it's a little bit unclear what I want, it seems:
I have a lot of asp-sites allready, and now I must send, however, the information that is given by the hidden inputs by post-method to the site "sofortüberweisung.de/payment/start".
However I can solve it, it's not nessecary, there is no need for a form-tag, if there is another solution (e.g. with the code behind).
So: How can I send a lot of post information (these here is only an exmaple, in the real site there are a lot more) with code and redirect it to the right site?
If the code you have provided is within a standard ASP.NET form, so that you have nested form tags, try the solutions provided to this Stack Overflow question.
If it is possible to have this page be a simple html form, that is another possible solution.
Your button needs to have the runat="server" attribute set and it might be worth doing the same on your form atttribute.
Also remember in asp.net webforms you can only have one form tag.
I've had this issue a couple of times before where when creating an HTML form inside an ASP.NET form tag, the inner form just wouldn't post out.
One solution for me was to adjust the ASP.NET form tag wrapper for that page (moving the close above the HTML tag).
Another (where I needed ASP.NET controls obove and below the HTML form) was to add an iframe, passing the parameters for the form post to the iframe URL. Using JavaScript, the iframe then used those parameters to post the form to a new window/the parent window. Probably better ways, but it worked for me.
