Based on Qt 4.5.1
I placed QWidget, created with QWebPluginFactory, into HTML page.
...
...
TestObject works just fine, also JS communication with it. But i found two problems:
I cant draw no HTML elements above QWidget(positioning absolute and setting z-indexes). Is there any way how to set rendering order in WebKit? Or to make z-index work ? Changing width, height and other properties works just fine.
When i hide parent div for testObj (display:none) and show it again(display:block), WebPluginFactory is called again and original object is destroyed. (Currently my workaround is to resize TestObj to 1 * 1 pixels, so user doesnot sees it).
Does anybody knows how this works exactly? Is something of this fixed in 4.6 ?
Thanks
I was having similar issues with 4.7 release. It looks like it is still not fixed just yet: check here

I'm displaying mathematical expressions in a webview (using jqmath library and some CSS). One requirement is that expressions should be centred, and here's what I use to achieve that:
<html><head><style type='text/css'>html,body {margin: 0;padding: 0;width: 100%;height: 100%;}html {display: table;}body {display: table-cell;vertical-align: middle;text-align: center;}</style></head><body><p>here goes the expression</p></body></html>
Since rendering math takes some time, the webview is hidden while the expression is rendering, and displayed only when it is ready (once the WebViewClient's onPageFinished has been called). This worked well until Android 4.4.
The problem with the new webview seems to be that it only applies CSS when it is visible on screen. So after revealing the hidden webview, the expression first appears in the top left corner, and only after ~0.1 seconds "jumps" to the center. This looks ugly, since I have to display many expressions in quick succession.
A related problem is described in this question: width:100% in CSS not rendering well in Android 4.4. The asker was able to solve his problem by removing the display: table; from html, but that doesn't work in my case.
So is there a way to either:
(a) force the new (Chromium-based) webview to render content while it is not visible, or
(b) display the content at the center from the beginning (without first displaying it in the top left corner).
It is not true that the KK WebView applies CSS only when visible on screen:
the WebView will not size itself if it has visibility set to GONE because the Android framework will call layout-related methods on it (like layout and onSizeChanged). This might be what you're seeing. Try setting the visibility to INVISIBLE instead.
WebViewClient.onPageFinished is not a reliable trigger for showing your WebView. What the callback really means is that the resource for the main frame had been loaded from the network. Unfortunately there never was a reliable callback that would tell you 'your content is ready to be displayed' - what you're describing probably happened to work because of particular timing. The most reliable way to not show unfinished content would be to do so in the HTML/CSS.
you might be using WebView.loadDataWithBaseUrl to load your contents into a new/blank WebView - this API is has an effect similar to re-writing the page's content (rather than issuing a 'real' navigation) and can result in weird layout. If possible use loadData or loadUrl. If neither of those are feasible try calling loadUrl("data:text/html,<body style=\"margin: 0px;\"/>"); before loading the real content (wait at least till you get an WebViewClient.onPageStarted callback for that bootstrap URL).
you might be setting height to WRAP_CONTENTS. This is very unlikely to cause the issues you're describing, but it would be good to rule out. Try setting a width of MATCH_PARENT and a height with a fixed number of pixels.
I'm currently migrating my app on ios 7 and I've been stuck for hours on the new navigationcontroller/bar management.
Before, when we had a navigation controller, we had a snippet like this :
UINavigationController *navController = [[UINavigationController alloc]initWithRootViewController:[[MainViewController alloc]init]];
In interface builder, we had the choice to set an existing navigationbar for the view and everything match the content of the real view.
OK so now, i have no clue of how to design properly with interface builder.
I still have my snippet to initialize my navcontroller. However in the interface builder for my MainViewController if I set a status bar to translucent or opaque navigation bar, i have an offset of 44px at the top (see below).
Interface Builder_________________________And the result
Now, if i set status bar to none, there is no offset at top but since the view on simulator is smaller because of navigation bar the bottom of the view in interface builder is cut off.
Interface Builder_________________________And the result
I guess i'm really missing something here but i can't find any topic or apple info in iOS7 Transitions Guide about that.
Thanks for your help
EDIT
As we can see in the pictures, the first child of the view is a UIScrollView which contains both labels, the problem does not appear when there is no scrollview. It also appears if it's a UITableView.
If a label is outside the UIScrollView, there is no offset to that label.
OK so i found the solution, I have set in my controller the property:
self.automaticallyAdjustsScrollViewInsets = false
I don't really understand the true benefit of this property though, (or why the default value is true)
The only documentation i found was there:
https://web.archive.org/web/20160405135605/https://developer.apple.com/library/ios/documentation/userexperience/conceptual/TransitionGuide/AppearanceCustomization.html
https://developer.apple.com/documentation/uikit/uiviewcontroller/1621372-automaticallyadjustsscrollviewin
Update
In iOS 11 automaticallyAdjustsScrollViewInsets is deprecated
You should now use:
self.tableView.contentInsetAdjustmentBehavior = .never
I also encourage you to check this question and its answer to get a better understanding of those properties
#Justafinger's answer worked like a charm for me as well.
Just wanted to add that this setting can also be adjusted easily from the interface builder.
Select your view controller
Click the 'Attributes Inspector' tab
Uncheck 'Adjust Scroll View Insets'
Enjoy!
I was running into this same issue, but I found a rather odd property on the ViewController in interface builder that seems to have been causing this for me. There is an "Extend Edges" set of check boxes. I removed the "Under Top Bars" check, and everything started laying out properly for me.
With automaticallyAdjustsScrollViewInsets set to YES (the default setting) there is a mismatch in scrollview positioning between ios6 and ios7, so to make them consistent you need to disable this setting. However, ios6 will crash if it comes across automaticallyAdjustsScrollViewInsets, so you either need to make a programatic change of automaticallyAdjustsScrollViewInsets conditional on ios7 or else switch off the option using the storyboard/NIB
I had a similar problem, after dismissing a viewController, the contentOffset from my tableView was changed to (0, -64).
my solution was a little weird, I tried all the other answers but had no success, the only thing that fixed my problem was to switch the tableView position in the controls tree of the .xib
it was the first control in the parent View like this:
I moved the tableView right after the ImageView and it worked:
it seems that putting the table view in the first position was causing the trouble, and moving the table view to another position fixed the problem.
P.D. I'm not using autoLayout neither storyboards
hope this can help someone!
I also face this problem.
UIScrollView content size is calculate by OS as other sizes, origins provided by constraint system - that's why OS has doubtfulness.
How to fix - You should explicitly define content size of UIScrollView:
Embed scrollable content to UIView (I rename it to ContentView)
Add constraints:
ContentView.Weight = View.Weight and ContentView.Height = View.Height
It seems like a work around solution is to view the storyboard file as "iOS 6.1 and earlier" (select storyboard file->File inspector->Interface Builder Document->View As. Positioning subviews in this mode shows the offset.
Thank you guys for the solutions! I struggled for hours trying to solve the problem. Everything was ok when there was no Navigation Bar involved but it went haywire the moment I embedded the ViewController in a NavigationController.
I solved it by unchecking the Adjust Scroll View Insets and the Under Top Bars. Both of these are located in the ViewController's Attribute Inspector. Thanks a million!
Accepted answer by #streem caused some weird behavior with UILabel acting as sections.
This worked for me:
if let navBar = navigationController?.navigationBar {
scrollView.contentInset = UIEdgeInsets(top: -navBar.frame.size.height, left: 0.0, bottom: 0.0, right: 0.0)
}
I'm using a view hierarchy of
QMainWindow > central widget > QVBoxLayout > QGraphicsView (800x600 fixed) > class deriving from QGraphicsScene > QGraphicsWebView (800x600)
When I load a jQuery Mobile powered HTML file and use the horizontal slide transition between pages, the value of window.outerWidth grows to 2400 pixels. But the actual page width, and value of window.innerWidth, remains at 800. The web view then shows 800 pixel-wide white bars at the left and right (horizontal scrollbar also expands to 2400px), with the new jQM "page" in the middle. Right-clicking in the white bars does not show the QtWebView context menu, but right-clicking in the middle works. I enabled developer tools [1] which told me that the HTML, BODY and DATA-ROLE="page" elements have the correct width of 800px.
This is working in browsers like Firefox and Chrome, so I think it's a bug in Qt's web view implementation or a setting that I have missed. The problem seems to come from the fact that the jQM pages which are sliding in/out during transitions are considered for the width. Why does window.outerWidth get such a wrong value? Note that any size policies on the web view do not have an effect. Any ideas what else I could try?
[1] "Inspect" context menu option:
QWebSettings::globalSettings()->setAttribute(
QWebSettings::DeveloperExtrasEnabled,
true);
Solved it by upgrading to Qt 5 which has the latest WebKit. It however creates new trouble, so first try if the rest of your web pages work before switching to the newly released 5.0.0.
I'm working on a Flex 4 application and I started customizing the interface with skins to give a whole new look.
So, I've created two scrollbar skins in Flash Catalyst (one horizontal, one vertical).
Its working great when I test the application through Catalyst so I took it and imported it on Flash Builder, copied the components and defined the new skins in my css file for the HScrollbar and VScrollbar.
The skin is working, all the buttons are ok. But, the scrollbar isnt resizing for some reason. It remains in the same height I've designed it to be regardless of the content it is bound to.
It scrolls the content in all the ways it should be but it doesnt resize and the thumb isnt getting all the way down.
Also I've noticed the following.
I have a custom component acting as a list. It extends Group and contains a Scroller. So at one place of the application the Scrollthumb is getting lower than on another place where the same custom list is used.
I also have to mention that this scroller works perfectly without a custom skin.
Anyone else having similar problems?
Okay, I know you posted this a while ago but I have been scouring the internet for days looking for why the scrollbar's thumb wasn't scaling like the default scrollbar.
There are a couple things to check, first is there a set height on your thumb's skin?
If not, and this is what I was overlooking, go to your scroller skin and at the point where you add the vertical and horizontal scrollbar set the "fixedThumbSize" property to false.
I suppose that your graphic elements are defined as every single part of the scrollbar (top arrow, bottom arrow, track, etc...): in this case you should check that the elements dimensions are not fixed... they should be in % to be able to change the dimensions based on the container.
Facebook Connect uses JS/CSS overlays/popups for user interaction. I have sites with Flash elements, and no matter how I set the z-indices, the Flash always seems to go to the top.
I have a similar and likely related problem with a div with display:fixed at the top of the screen, where it gets covered by the Flash when you start scrolling.
How can I make sure the Flash element layers properly?
If you just need your flash to fall behind other object then you should use wmode=opaque. This will correct the z-index.
wmode=transparent will also correct the z-index but it also makes your stage transparent so whenever you have nothing on the stage or gaps between objects your html will show through underneath. This in turn causes more system strain.
Ergo if you just need the z-index correcting use wmode=opaque
Generally, I've needed to set the wmode=transparent property on the Flash object and/or embed string.
