How to write to an XML file inside a jar file? - jar

Hi Java programmers. I badly need your help.
I have a JavaFX/Java ME application. I'm trying to modify an XML file inside my project's folder (soon to be packaged jar file).
The path of the file I want to write: /parseExample/service1.xml
Sadly, my application is a JavaFx/JavaME so it doesn't contain the library java.util.jar.
So I can't use the jar classes.
Are there other ways to do that?

Even in J2SE you should consider a Jar file as read only. In J2SE the only way to do it is either using external tools or recreating a new Jar file and overwriting the old one with the new.
My recommendation would be to find a storage location as listed below and use your XML file as a default, if you need to change the just put the new one in the storage location.
Your data storage options are the following:
As per http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/data/data-storage.html These are the possible storage locations you have available:
Shared Preferences - Store private primitive data in key-value pairs.
Internal Storage - Store private data on the device memory.
External Storage - Store public data on the shared external storage.
SQLite Databases - Store structured data in a private database.
Network Connection - Store data on the web with your own network server.

Setting custom local storage Path in QML

I m trying to put a custom path in QML file but can't get it done.
I'm trying to get de db in a shared folder where i'm willing to put the DB so any person who has the program can acces to data.
I'm using Sqlite and Qt Creator 5.7 but not a lot of info about this.
You can simply COPY the database from its default path. Typically that is located (In windows anyways) at
C:\Users\<username>AppData\Local\<program name>\QML\OfflineStorage\Databases
and on Mobile devices it is stored in a similar place --
on android its in a sub folder of:
/data/data/<Program Name>
On *nix it is located:
/home/<user>/.local/share/[ProjectName]/QML/OfflineStorage/Databases

Database backup Azure Resource Manager

Is there a way in Azure Resource manager to take a copy of an existing database? Currently I know there is a database import option, which points to a bacpac file in Blob Storage and creates a new database from that file, but the process to create the file is a manual one at this point. With that, what is the current process to create bacpacs and put them in Blob storage in an automated way through ARM?
There is a way to specify the createMode of your database in the ARM template. This is very undocumented stuff but I found this in the REST api documentation and then just tried in the ARM template.
You can specify the properties "createMode" and "sourceDatabaseId".
I am not using this functionality because the sourceDatabaseId needs to be in the same subscription which was not the case with me. So i export the bacpac manually and then use an ARM template to import the bacpac (which also is undocumented but I commented the ARM template used here: https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/articles/sql-database-import/)

Does the Reflections package caches resources

I am using the reflections package to scan some files in my classpath. The code below is run at regular intervals. Basically i am retriving all xml files within a folder 'tmp' in the classpath. This code is being run from a web application.
Reflections reflections = new Reflections("tmp", new ResourcesScanner());
Set<String> xmls = reflections.getResources(Pattern.compile(".*\\.xml"));
When i add another xml file in the services folder it gets read. However, when i update any of those xml files, the update is NOT reflected. Is there some kind of caching going on there? If yes, is there anyway to avoid the same?
No, Reflections does not cache resources. It simply scans and creates a Store object - actually a multimap of Strings.
Reading / retrieving the resources on runtime is done based on their names (via Store) and uses the configured classloader (which defaults to the context class loader)

Database using Sqlite in C# windows phone 8

I have doubt regarding windows phone 8 application development. The database using sqlite for windows phone 8 is pre-loaded into the application or it should be created dynamically at the time of installation in windows phone..? and if it is pre-loaded then how to create the database.db file..?? and also if it is dynamically created, what is the procedure to create dynamically...??
I would say, pre-loaded into the application is the very common way.
Take a look at this article, I think the steps to accomplish your task are quite the same: http://wp.qmatteoq.com/import-an-already-existing-sqlite-database-in-a-windows-8-application/
The first step is to copy your database in to the Visual Studio project and, from the Properties window, set the Build action to Content.
Once you’ve done this operation, you’ll be able to access to the files embedded in your project thanks to the Package.Current.InstalledLocation object that is available in the Windows.ApplicationModel namespace.
The InstalledLocation’s type is StorageFolder, which is the base class of all the folders mapping in WinRT: for this reason, it exposes all the standard methods to interact with the storage, like getting a file or a folder. This way we can use the GetFileAsync method to get a reference to the database embedded into the project and, after that, using the CopyAsync method we can copy it into the local storage of the application. We can copy it in the root of the local storage (like in the following example) or in a specific folder, by getting a reference to it first using the GetFolderAsync method.
For those who are not able to work with sqlite I would like to suggest them to follow this link : http://dotnetslackers.com/articles/silverlight/Windows-Phone-7-Native-Database-Programming-via-Sqlite-Client-for-Windows-Phone.aspx and when you are dumping the data into the project .. you just need to change the properties of the "database1.sqlite" i.e. Build Action = resource . Thats all you need to do ..

How to create and write data into a file using flex3?

I want to create a file and write some data (userid) into the file at first run of my application, during the second run all the operation (will go to the next state) based on the file data, is it possible? How to create and write data into file?
It depends if you're working on a pure-Flex or an AIR project.
If you are making an AIR application, you can access local files using the File class (more informations can be found here and here) ;
If not, you'll have to use a server-side script (PHP, ColdFusion, Java EE...) to do the job, calling it using a HTTPService object for instance.
If you are not concerned about file's location and max content of file is less than 100 KB then you may make use of Shared Objects in flash.
