I am deploying a desktop application using AIR, and I would like to store some user-specific data on the machine such as a history of his entries. Is this possible? Where can I learn more about this?
Thanks,
Mike
This blog tells what all options you have for local data storage using AIR. Select one which best fits your needs and livedocs(Adobe Help site) will contain a good explanation of them along with examples.
There are some examples in the Air version of Tour de Flex for how do this.

I wish to copy data from my desktop application to another web solution I'm using.
At the moment, I need to take each field and copy-paste it. Is there a way to map the desktop software and clipboard the data to an array/string that I can later use?
There aren't any API's around of course.
Thanks ahead!
If I understood correctly, what you could do is create a "hybrid" Desktop/Web automation script (say TestStack.White / Selenium) to get data from the Desktop Application and then copy it to the Web application; but as it may be a very complex development task (depending on the structure and functionality of both applications), it may not be cost effective.
I am looking to move away from neo4j mainly because of the price which is so steep and we assumed it to be an opensource all the time. Upward of $30K/year is not something we can afford for a database, I guess we should have done our homework well.
Any ways Neo4j has an actively maintained neo4jClient for .Net which was the primary criteria for us to select that database, only other option that comes close is OrientDB which also has a rest endpoint that we can consume. But has only few c# clients that I can find on the net. Also out of these none have been updated for almost 2-3 years.
So I was wondering if any one has used OrientDB in a real world project and have seen a dependable c# client that can be used with this database.
Also any sample that shows some of the best practices on working with OrientDB and ASP.Net will be really helpful.

Kiran
I am on the OrientDB Team. I have to apologize, we have not done a good job of communicating the various language APIs on our website. This will be improved.
For now, you can see: https://github.com/orientechnologies/orientdb/wiki/Programming-Language-Bindings.
I know I have seen activity around the .NET connector recently. We are have a concerted focus on all of these libraries and continued maintenance of them. Again, as you mentioned, the REST API is always there as well.
Best wishes,

The .NET driver I can suggest is:

It's actively updated.
How to get data from RETS service?
I want to integrate services in ASP.Net.. is there any sdk available for it?
http://matrixrets.abor.com/rets/search.ashx?Class=ResidentialProperty&SearchType=PropertyQueryType=DMQL2&%20Format=COMPACT&StandardNames=1&Query=(ST=|ACT,SOLD)&Count=2
Above is my service query I am trying and I tried lots of other parameters but always setting some error code every time.
For ASP.Net if any dll who works with RETS or any better document on it how search query should be written it would be helpful.
The MLS "system" is very much "local" and as I discovered myself, a shambles with no agreed standard. When you say local, where are you talking about? In California, you can use the ezRETS ODBC driver:
http://www.crt.realtors.org/projects/rets/ezrets/
Check out the CRT Center for Realtor Technology:
http://www.crt.realtors.org/
MLS IDX Feed Data Download API Available
http://www.reso.org/developer-resources
You can setup in ASP.NET,Java,PHP
Suggestion use PHRETS API for IDX better way to implement easy
More detail we can discuss skype :shailesh.makwana990
I know there are questions related to mine, but they do not solve my problem and I cannot find anything on the Internet. I want to create a diagram of the system we created. What I need is stencils with icons for:
website
database
webservice
workflow
wcf service (not necessarily different from the webservice stencil)
windows service
Active directory
I would like the webservice to have a gearbox theme in it (something like http://www.coretechnologies.com/images/alwaysup_web_service_logo.gif). Does such set of stencils exist or does everything look like it's from ages ago? (that is what I have found on the net until now)
I ended up creating my own from PNGs found on the internet. It's not a nice solution, because they are not vector graphics, but at least I could make the schemes I wanted...
You might try this large set from MS, as it contains numerous enterprise and Azure related symbols not found in the default set provided in Visio, and not available through the online Visio feature. The set includes SVG as well as bitmap versions. I personally found it while looking for a Cosmos DB stencil: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=41937
I usually only work on system admin projects and software packaging and have little knowledge of web technologies, but I've been given the task of building a simple website that searches an SQL 2005 database from the users input and lists the results. That's it.
Can anybody help me out with some sample code or some such? Since we're a pure Microsoft house, it will be running on SQL 2005 and IIS so I'm assuming I'll need to use ASP.NET, but perhaps my inexperience is leading me down the wrong path.
Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated!
You might want to look at ASP.NET Dynamic Data. This is exactly the scenario it was designed for.
