How to build javadoc from sources within a .jar file? - jar

I have to build Javadoc from myCode.jar that contains both sources and class files.
Can I do it without extracting the jar?
According to http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/tooldocs/windows/javadoc.html#classpath I should be able to do so this way: C:\>javadoc -d docs -classpath myCode.jar net\kem\jmx\CacheManagerMBean.java
However, I get the following error:

It seems, javadoc cannot find the source files within the jar. I'm confident that the sources are there.
Any suggestions?

Some first tests indicate it does not work (at least on OpenJDK 1.6.0_20, which I have here).
So, I looked into the source (browsable in a mercurial web-interface). Javadoc (in the version there, which may differ from the one I have here) uses quite some bits of Javac in its for the operation, and it looks like both are using the javax.tools.JavaFileManager interface to implement access to their source files, specifically in the subinterface StandardJavaFileManager.
This interface claims to be able to access zip file entries:
This file manager creates file objects representing regular files, zip file entries, or entries in similar file system based containers.
But here how it is used (in JavaDocTool.getRootDocImpl()):

The first case would apply in your call with a .java file - but since it does not exist as a file in the file system (new File(name).exists() returns false), this does not help, and you get instead the third case with a "file not found" error.
It looks like it could work when replacing this condition with a more suitable one (like !fm.getJavaFileObjects(name).isEmpty() - provided the context is initialized with a JavaFileManager which in fact looks in jar/zip files, which I did not check now.
So, you'll have either to unpack your source jar, or patch your javac implementation (preferably contributing this to the main javac source).

Why R is unable to load a shared object?

I am trying to use XLConnect library in R. If I execute
library(XLConnect)
I get the following error message:
JAVA_HOME cannot be determined from the Registry
To resolve this problem I set first the JAVA_HOME variable:
Sys.setenv(JAVA_HOME='C:/Program Files (x86)/Java/jre1.8.0_65')

It looks like it helps me to come further but then I get another problem:
unable to load shared object 'C:/Program Files/R/R-3.2.2/library/rJava/libs/x64/rJava.dll'
It wonder why R cannot load rJava.dll. At least this file is located in the folder where R searches for it:
C:\Program Files\R\R-3.2.2\library\rJava\libs\x64

Please note that the rJava.dll file exists and it is located there, where R is searching for it. I guess that the problem is in incompatibility between 32bit and 64bit versions. I assume that because R complains:
% 1 is not a valid Win32 application
Well, why do R expect it to be a Win32 application`? First, my OS is 64bit, second my Java is also for the 64bit and finally, the `rJava.dll` object is located in the folder withx64` in the name (so, I assume it is also a 64bit version).
I faced the same issue . Please locate jvm.dll
should be in (your JRE version could be different )

or

add this path to your windows system path and you are good to go .but keep in mind the version of jre and R should be consistent,if your java is in Program Files its 64 bit so launch from 64 bit R if its in Program Files (x86)its 32 bit so use 32 bit R
like in my case it showed error in 64 bit
but worked perfectly in 32 bit

I am using UNIX. Therefore I cannot test it by myself but your path might be wrong as well.

Fail to link to standard library of Ocaml-java (or Cafesterol)

I am a new user of Ocaml-java (or Cafesterol) which compiles primtive Ocaml program to executable jar that is allowed run on JVM. However when I try to compile a test program into executable jar I got error info as follow:

It seems module Str and Unix is missing from Ocaml-java. However, str.jar and unix.jar do exist under ~/ocaml-project/ocamljava-bin-1.4/lib/others/ when I install Ocaml-java, and within these jars we do have Str.class and Unix.class. (I suppose this directory is on the path of the standard library of Ocaml-java, so it should be included in default search path)
Can any Ocaml-java user tell me how Ocaml-java search for dependency libraries?

I suggest using version 5.0 for now. There are a lot of changes in version 6 and these came along with some bugs. There should be an update to version 6 soon. https://java.net/projects/javacc/downloads
Will you put the code to look it or your complete call. I think, that it´s a code error or that you call a bad .java archive. For example:

This do the test for you when you do a double-click on it if you have a copy in your javacc/bin and your practice directories.

Closure Templates through IKVM?

Google Closure works GREAT without the Java Runtime Environment by using IKVM
In case that ever goes away, the simplified steps to convert it to an exe are:
Download and extract (but nothing to install) Closure Compiler and IKVM
Move compiler.jar to the IKVM bin folder
ikvmc -target:exe -fileversion:2012.09.17 .\compiler.jar (with the jar's release date). Note: I get a few warnings about ANT libraries.
Copy these dependencies from the ikvm bin directory to the closure directory:

IKVM.OpenJDK.Jdbc.dll
IKVM.OpenJDK.Misc.dll
IKVM.OpenJDK.SwingAWT.dll

The exception can be an bug in IKVM. Which version do you use? Test the latest version.

Another problem can be that you have not compile all needed jar files for SoyToJsSrcCompiler.jar. In which jar file is this missing class file? Take a look in the wiki to see how you compile multiple jar files.
The next problem can be that there is the same package in different jar files. It there are only package visible for some mthods this will not work for .NET. You can test a sharedclassloader. See the wiki for details.

Use qjson in my Qt symbain app

I'm using Qt to develop a Symbian app.
I downloaded qjson from the link. I followed the instructions in that link and yes, I have the qjson.sis file. Now I need to use it in my app. When I tried, I got this error.

Ok, I've just resolved a similar issue: it seems that your current build of QJson's library has different UID3 than the previous one that you installed on the phone.
Each .SIS file that is installed on the device has an identifier. The phone OS tracks which file was installed by which packacge, and if some new package wants to overwrite an existing file, the OS checks whether the new package has the same 'identity' than the previous owner of the file to be overwritten.
If the identity does not match, this error pops up.
There are number of reasons why this could have happened. For example, you could have simply changed the UID3 of the QJson before the build. Or, maybe you have forgot to set the library's UID3? Check the "src.pro' in the QJson project and go to the half of the file, you'd see lines:

TARGET.CAPABILITY = ReadDeviceData WriteDeviceData
If there's #, then you have forgot to set it and the build process assumed, well, letssay 'a random value'. So, now, set it to something, ie. TARGET.UID3 = 0xE0123456. Remember to correct that once you are ready to publish the application.
If a package with broken UID3 gets onto your phone and is blocking something - simply: uninstall it. Go to Settings/Installations/Installed, then find "qjson" and uninstall it. Afterwards, next installtion of qjson should succeed with no problems.
