Basically, I am using Active Directory authentication in ASP.NET.
I have set up my connection string.
I am still very new to AD.

You'll probably be better off specifying the root NC name in your connection.
LDAP://YourADServer/DC=cene,DC=edc,DC=CompName,DC=com
Unless there is a good reason why you don't want searches to be done domain-wide, I'd set it up like that.
You can try ldp.exe to connect to the AD server you have specified in the path and see if that works
One thing you might want to be aware of is that Active Directory and Forms Authentication are not the same thing. You will use one or the other to Authenticate and Authorize.
I think your LDAP string should be formatted thus:
"LDAP://DCServer.BUSINESSPLUSPLUS.com/CN=Users,DC=BUSINESSPLUSPLUS,DC=com"

Is it correct in using above format uri in public setting? It feels kinda dangerous because it has the auth_bit.
If I visit https://provider/v1/auth_1293kdfj/folder/ it lists all files/bojects in container folder. I wish to turn this off, how would I do so? Should I make my container private and assign temp url to ALL objects?

1 - Yes. It's correct. Probably your authentication server is protected behind a firewall. This is just the project id. However if you are really worried about security you can configure your webserver to hide this info.
2 - Probably your container has the following acl:
.r:*,.rlistings
If you set by yourself (what I believe is the most common) you should change it just to:
.r:*
I've tried everything possible, to setup nJupiter.DataAccess.Ldap as the membership provider on our intranet based web application built using asp.net 3.5.
Challenges I am facing:

I have tried all possible permutations and combinations for different values in the XML and i am not able to take it forward. Please guide. I just am not able to connec to the LDAP and authenticate the user or even search for users.
Just looking at your config is unlikely to be enough since I don't know your Domino server's confguration, so my answer isn't an attempt to fix your problem. It's an attempt to teach you how I would approach it if it were my problem. Here's what I do to troubleshoot connections and queries from code to Domino LDAP:
Configure the Domino LDAP server for logging the highest level of debug information with the notes.ini setting LDAPDEBUG=7. See this IBM technote for more info.
Use an LDAP client and figure out how to successfully connect to the Domino LDAP server. I like the free Softerra client for this. Check the logs and save off the info from your successful connection.
Now run your code and compare what you see in the logs against the successful connection.
If the code is making it past authentication but failing on the query, then find the actual query in the log, go back to your LDAP client, figure out what the query should have been, and adjust your code's configuration appropriately.
I have creates an asp.net mvc 4 web app. I have deployed it to my dev server. (different box than my local on same domain).
Both the database and the website exists on the same server/box. I am trying to connect from my local machine which is on the same domain as the server.
I try to login on the home page and I get this error:
Login failed for user 'domain\ServerName'
I don't know where this is coming from or how to resolve it. I assume it has something to do with IIS. Any help would be appreciated.
I had this problem - It was my connection string. Somehow, it now magically now had both ;User ID={login value here};Password={password value here} and Trusted_Connection=True; key/value pairs.
You cannot use both. If you have a SQL Server login, then you don't want the Trusted_Connection=True;. If you have a trust between machines, then you don't want the ;User ID={login value here};Password={password value here} values.
It makes sense that this applies to Integrated Security=SSPI; and Integrated Security=true; too. You must leave off User ID and password when you use those as well.

I need to share cookie between two web applications deployed on azure (eg. x1.azurewebsites.net, x2.azurewebsites.net)
I thought that all i need to do is to set a domain:
Response.Cookies.Add(new HttpCookie("TEST", "BLE")
{
Domain = "azurewebsites.net"
});
But its not working.
For test purposes I added:
Response.Cookies.Add(new HttpCookie("TEST2", "AQQ"));
And this one works ok - but its available only on x1.azurewebsites.net
So the question is whats wrong with the code above?
Is it possible to share cookie like this?
Maybe this is security issue? - i understand that every application hosted on azuerwebsites will have access to information stored in my cookie
I found my question similar to
Chrome34 ignores cookies with domain ".cloudapp.net"
So the cause of my issue is browser checks the publicsuffix.org list for domains and block cookies for security reasons.

Trying to use use SharpSVN in an ASP.NET app. So far, it's been nothing but trouble. First, I kept getting permission errors on "lock" files (that don't exist), even though NETWORK SERVICE has full permissions on the directories. Finally in frustration I just granted Everyone full control. Now I get a new error:
OPTIONS of 'https://server/svn/repo': authorization failed: Could not authenticate to server: rejected Basic challenge (https://server)
This happens whether I have the DefaultCredentials set below or not:

The user you need to grant permission is most likely the ASPNET user, as that's the user the ASP.NET code runs as by default.
ASPNET user is a local account, preferably youd'd want to run this code in an Impersonate block, using a network account set up for this specific reason
